The sheer determination and persistence you've shown on this hunt and all the others I've watched, is unmatched. It's one thing to see the deer walk away and live , but to be able to follow through with it, find the same deer watch him for days and stalk to within only a few yards, bravo. Your passion for the deer and hunting in general doesn't waiver, no matter what state or terrain. your abilities to do this, along with the ability to gain permission from everywhere you go are a testimony to your passion. Congratulations!!

Lee, I just started watching you this past year, and im new to guns and the hunting world. This my friend, is my biggest fear, and exactly what I wouldve done. I take my hat off to you sir and your video man as well. You arent just a UA-camr, or a hunter; you're someone I look up to both as a man and fellow human being. Thank you for being the type of hunter one day I hope I become. Thank you for showing the world how it should be. I realize this couldve ended without the deer and how it can happen. Its why im 44 yrs old and HAVE NEVER HUNTED. But watching you and many others its why I believe I can and should be hunting. My heart and head are in the right place. Im not going out there to poach or injury animals on purpose. Im going out, to help my wife and I fill our freezer and because I loved hunting since I was a boy, but Ive always been scared of this moment. No more. I'll take a year and get confident with my shots and make sure I go with someone who's been doing hunting for years(my dads neighbor), but I need to, I want to, and I have nothing but love and respect for any animal who gives his life for my family to eat. Thank you Lee, for being an amazing man and great role model. And if you or anyone else reading this has advice, I will definately take all I can get. Keep hunting and creating and ill keep on watching.

Seek One is the best hunting channel of all. Lee I hope that one day i can just have 10 minutes of your time to pick your brain. Rough time, and know this feeling - glad it worked out for you in the end. The first shot I ever had at a deer with a bow in my second season was at a beautiful 3 y.o. buck, and glanced off a branch I didn't see, and deflected into the shoulder. Spend a day and a half trying to track him and never found - the blood trail just came to an end and as far as we can tell he made it out and is still there.

Insane how he came in like that in the wide open! I'm assuming if you missed right of where you aimed that you where aiming behind the shoulder.. my advice as an elk hunter is if you ever have another opportunity like that to aim frontal and try to lodge in the opposite shoulder! Still a pretty marginable shot that I've seen go wrong about 50/50 and on a deer I think you picked the better shot.. super cool that you got a second chance!

Yes it definitely does happen. My biggest I want to quit moment was I shot at a buck in a alfalfa field that I had been hunting for 2 years. (The same buck I missed with my bow the year prior) I thought it was my redemption moment, my storybook ending. However, I found zero blood that night so I thought that I had missed. I came back the next morning just to make sure with the sun light that there was no blood I walked the path that he ran about 100 yards where my property line ends. I found zero blood so I thought that I had missed that spring the neighbor send me a picture of the dead head of the buck about 500 yards away from where I took the shot.

Great hunt man! Hunted Kansas once and loved it. Shot a nice velvet buck. In your opinion, you think that deer would have lived/recovered from the first shot? You never really said how much penetration you got on it and I saw it still chasing and then it returned to his safe area. Was there any infection there when you skinned it? Just wondering, we’ve all been there and it would be good to know. Thanks

Wounded a buck once with my bow, right in the shoulder. I have it all on film too and I was able to review it. Ended up my sight was loose and I didn’t realize it and I had just practiced days before. Man, it’s the worst feeling, I take it extremely hard. Not because I’m not getting a trophy, but because it’s a life and I made him suffer. It for sure makes you want to quit, if you have any respect for those beautiful creatures at all it makes you want to hang it up cause you aren’t good enough. Took me a couple weeks to get back out. That was in November 2019, he was still alive in January but never saw him again. He could have relocated cause I’m in eastern Oklahoma in the hardwood hill country. Video is up on my channel HuntOps as ‘The One That Got Away’ and you’ll be able to tell in my interview how angry at myself I was. Not sure the best way to get over that besides hunting that deer and trying to finish, but if you can’t you just gotta keep on trucking and practicing and making sure your equipment is ready to rock for the moment we all work towards. Awesome video!

I hit a deer high this season. I think it completely missed anything vital and I didn't find any blood. Would have been my biggest deer to date. I haven't hunted since because I've been demoralized but I am planning to finally get back out tomorrow. I love the messages you give to your audience and the production of these videos are top notch! Can't wait for the next episode.

Lee that celebration was amazing. You always contain yourself in ppls back yards. But out that really showed your excitement. I loved that brother. Congratulations!!

Another awesome video! Kudos for sticking with it and harvesting a great buck. Lots of hunters would be too debilitated by wounding an animal that they either give up on the hunt entirely or move on to a different deer. True sportsman right here.
