That's the thing with BW I feel like not bringing excitement and just blinking down Painter would've been better. What I mean is bringing anything that's not blink or Peepers on BW makes it so tricky to get the down
He doesn't need to paint a full painting anymore. He can do a half done painting for a shorter stun. (Not actually half done a little bit above but yeah)

There was also a coord, so if he brought blink it would've been three free stuns on him + excitement cool down is smaller than blink cd
