Question when taking off the old fuel filter, it was in front or closest to the fuel tank when you install the new fuel filter you put it behind the fuel pump? Why didn’t you put the fuel pump closest to the fuel tank and then the fuel pump?
im having a start issue, its not the battery and i think it might be a fule pump or filter issue. do you know if this will help? thanks, and great video man
Correct, it’s upgraded to the newer vanagon model. Mine was set up as an aircooled model. But I did the Subaru swap. So the upgrade kit is set up this way.
Tires are “ToyoTires OpenCountry”, wheel is from a Mercedes 6.5x 15, the offset is 44mm. You have to add some shims to bring it out to 30-35mm offset. I think I have 12 mm Shims. You will have to purchase longer studs so the wheel fits. And you have to Drill out the rims bolt holes to 37/64, you can do it with a Drill. No lift at all, the wheels and bigger rims lift it about 3 inches.

When you turn the key to on(not start), you should hear a hum coming from the fuel pump? Do you hear anything?
@@SlugsVw i do not hear a hum coming from the fuel pump
@@themo3868 it should hum at least once. It might be a bad fuel pump.
@@SlugsVw thank you for your help. it means alot
Question, so that small part to the left gets eliminated once you replace the new fuel pump?
Yes, left on the video(towards front of the van) small part is the old fuel filter. The new filter is the big grey cylinder.
Looks like you added the filter after the pump and before replacement the filter is before tank. Tank filter pump. You did tank pump filter.

What tires/wheels are you running and do you have a lift on it of any kind?

How do the GoWesty clips come off the next time you have to do this? Does the same tool break those clips?
Yes, they would just have to be cut off.
How do you know which one is the positive and which is negative
My apologies for the late reply, the fuel pump terminals are marked negative and positive.
