Those close-ups on the mannequins always freaked me out as a kid. And the way they called Marcia didn't help.

I've watched this episode for 60-years, and it never gets old. Francis was so perfect for this role, especially with her looks of absolute terror and fright, making her role so convincing. Also, special mention should be made of the geeky store manager, whose googly eyes and nervous expressions really made this a standout episode. The sad thing is, I don't even know his name.

I saw this episode when I was nine. The next time my mother took me to the department store, I watched the mannequins in the sports department like crazy! Very clever that they used the mannequin at 0:49 and then the actual lady in the panned shot. Great performance by Anne Francis!

A great episode, though I could never understand as to why Marcia thought she had a mother. (She claimed to be buying the thimble as a gift for her mother). Even if she had temporary amnesia as to whom she really was, she must have realized that she had no idea whom her mother was.

Or maybe it's "Mannequin Lingo" because Mannequins are always "Up on a Pedestal", higher up than everyone else,
and maybe they were referencing that because Marcia still though she was human, that she had put herself up on a Pedestal,
a Human one, and she should "Climb down off it", and come down to Earth with the rest of us.
