Love Pentagon beautiful song but honestly I'm a little disappointed in it. It's supposed to be a message to the fans right? Well, they also made promises in the lyrics that can't possibly come true for some fans so it's just a lie rather than a promise. Like "Ill promise you happiness" I get what they mean by this. They want to make people happy through their songs but not everyone (myself included) becomes happy listening to their songs. And then this line "Even if someone bothers us /I’ll hold your hand" that's impossible to hold every single one of their fans hand. The last one that bothered me is "Hard days are no more /Because you’re by my side" the way I think of this is I know they are talking to all of Universe as a group but I am just one fan and so if I leave nothing would change. I'm not special to them as an individual person. If I stopped being a fan nothing would change for them so honestly, I'm not by there side. As much as I'd like to be it's impossible because they don't know me and honestly I probably don't know them either (I only know what the camera shows). I'm probably going to get hate lol... like I said I love Pentagon and this is a beautiful song I just don't like it because even though I'm apart of Universe listening to this song made me feel like I wasn't apart of it since it wasn't true to me. i get what you’re saying but a lot of it is a figure of speech. this song was on the 3 mini album that they made since their debut so they’ve had the chance to grow a loyal fanbase, which is a huge feat for them. they had pentagon maker which was so harsh for them to have to go through, but they made it through that with all 10 members actually debuting even though there were supposed to be 7 after the 3 eliminations. they it made it through the hard times with fans by their side. the lyrics “because of you, i could keep my dreams” is so important. their dreams of debuting, being together, the members who were eliminated keeping their dreams of debuting, and keeping their group alive and fans listening to the music to keep them going and motivated, it’s because the unis are here to always listen to them and support them. ugh there’s so much more i wanna say but i don’t think i’ll do it justice. and as for the happiness while listening and just being a fan. pentagon is actually the reason i haven’t killed myself so i can speak for myself and others that’s it’s not just a fan thing. like universes may just be fans but it’s more important to us internally than externally. we don’t need to have so interpersonal connection to each of the members to understand that they and their music are good for us. i left kpop for a couple years in 2018 just because i thought it was time to grow up. and it was the worst 2 years of my life, so much was going on that my mental health just kept getting worse and worse. then in 2020 i just randomly decided to start listening to kpop again. for no reason at all, i became a kpop fan. and suddenly i actually had something to live for. because as far as i was concerned, i was going to kill myself after my HS graduation (2020),,, but since i found them again, i didn’t wanna ever let it go again. so all i’m trying to say is, for the most part, just because there is no way that pentagon can actually hold our hands and make sure we’re happy, the most they can give us is the music and hope that universes will make something meaningful of it. like yeah there’s no way unis can physically be by their side, and OF COURSE you’re not individually special.... that’s just how fan-idol relationships work. there’s no way you can compare a real relationship to that, it’s not fair. but without unis, pentagon wouldnt be where they are today, duh. they wouldn’t have a fan base to spread the music and listen all the time. so yeah, universes are special. but you can’t expect this song to be realistic in the relationship way you’re thinking of.
and also, the not being happy while listening to their music is a you thing, an individual thing. because universes will be happy listening to pentagon’s songs, that’s why we’re unis.
