    Great video Alana. We harvested our corn already I grew a 65 day super sweet first time and it was amazing to pick with the kids and serve for some visiting extended family.

    I grew about thirteen plants in a small rectangular area. A few of the plants never took off, but most have sprouted ears.

    My corn is solid inside the kernels, does that mean it's over done?
    It's been a terrible first year for me!

    I grow mine in pots. I notice that my corns' silk turn brown before time because I see roaches started eating the silk very early on and silk turning brown way before the ears increase the thickness.

  • @RobertRMusic
    @RobertRMusic 21 день тому

    My silk is completely dry, but the kernels are mostly white. Does that mean the corn is not ready?

      Hi there! Peel back some of the husk and snap one of the plump kernels with your fingernail...if the liquid that comes out is clear and watery, the corn isn't ready...if the liquid is milky, then it should be good!
      I hope that helps! Thank you for watching and I hope you have a great day!

      @@alanacawker-therusticwife i did that but tbh it was kind of hard to tell if the kernel was watery or milky. So I just went ahead and grilled a couple of cobs and they were delicious! Not bad for a first timer, and I planted from a kernel pretty late in the season.. hence I am just now harvesting.

      @@RobertRMusic I'm glad they turned out delicious! Sometimes certain varieties have lighter kernels but are super sweet! They fool us! Lol! Have a great day!

    Of course it’s not The kind you would buy at the grocery store by the grocery yours is grown with love most of theirs that they sell is grown with GMO‘s and pesticide herbicides fungicide all kinds of !! I usually just grad a thick looking Cobb with dry tassels and bite into it!

      This corn is such a great variety! The stuff your Mom sells is great tasting too! You should go into business with her and expand the stand business!

      @junrextanggolo8007 hi there! Sure, this variety is called "Luscious" and we got our seeds from Vessey's Seeds. It is so tender and sweet!
