I just want to take this moment to express my gratitude, not only the three of you, but everybody involved in the production of every single podcast every single UA-cam video. it’s a lot of work you guys do and you do it for the love and passion you have for Quantum. Chris, I understand your decision and respect your decision and also agree with the view that an off-season is long overdue, on a personal note I’ve never read any of the books I’m starting with Carney knowledge so it will give me the chance to catch up on all the novels, most of all hearing from Chris, Allison and Matt, so that’s what I will strive to do in my off season but I’ll always be here to support you guys and our wonderful 7 seasons of Quantum Leap. ❤

This definitely is such a bummer. I really had high hopes that this show would get a third season. It doesn’t help that they gave it three different timeslots over the course of two seasons. It did very well on Monday nights that first season but then, they announced Tuesday nights for season two. Unfortunately, they changed their minds with the writers strike and actors strike and put it on Wednesdays then switched it to Tuesdays when the show returned for the second half of season two. Nothing but gratitude for what the cast and crew of QL. It’s sad to see some people online blaming the Addison character wholeheartedly. Not her fault and I felt the character especially in season two matured a lot and got even better just like all the characters did. Im most disappointed with NBC and how it really felt like they lost interest in promoting the show after it returned you know what I mean? What worries me is that we have another revival on NBC called Night Court and I really hope the same thing that happened with Quantum Leap doesn’t happen with that show as well. I love both shows, having grown up with both of them, and both have been impacted by the strikes sadly. I don’t blame anyone involved with either show at all. Ty folks for what you do and I know the show will continue somehow. You all always do an awesome job and I just hope you all keep the podcast going when you feel the time is right. I know what you mean about losing Matt. That’s how I felt when I lost my brother and best friend Mike. It hurts and it feels like a part of you is missing. If you folks ever would like a fan to just tell some stores about their favorite episodes of the new and original show, please let me know. My dad and I loved the original show and he passed before I think season four premiered back in the day. So whenever I watch the shows, I feel like he’s there with me smiling enjoying it. I am seriously irritated, that NBC would do this once again. Technically the ending of season 5 was supposed to be a cliffhanger for season 6. But it did leave it pretty decent as a finale. As for the new QL, my daughter and I had a bond over the show. Each week we sat together to see the adventure or even misadventure of Ben and everyone at headquarters. 2 seasons was not enough. 1 season is the introduction and 2nd season finds its stride. We all know that. They SHOULD have greenlit a 3rd season immediately. Had things not went well...THEN end it on a good note. They ended it it on yet ANOTHER big cliffhanger. Netflix, Peacock or another streaming service SHOULD pick it up even for just 1 more season to get Sam, Ben and Addison home. Now not just 1 leaper is lost but 3.
I’m sure you all saw the Matt shout-out from Caitlin Bassett’s Instagram post. That was nice to think of him when expressing appreciation for all the fandom. Like you said, I thought I’d prepared myself for this news, yet I’m still gutted. I lay the blame on the QLP team, at least partially, because through your efforts I got to know the cast and crew, the showrunners and writers and directors! I hate we don’t get to talk to them anymore, and I hate this happened to them as well as us fans. I’m also bummed we don’t get to hear you guys talk Quantum Leap as much. I know the old series is still there, but you can only sustain a podcast on a limited number of episodes for so long. I do hope we get to enjoy this podcast team on other adventures! Does anybody remember the t.v., series called “Cagney & Lacey?” My Mom told me when I was a kid, they did something called “S.O.S.” Which stood for “Save our Shows”. Mom told me how they saved “Cagney & Lacey” that way, not once, but twice! I was wondering, if they still do s.o.s., is there anyway we could pull fans of the news series together to maybe somehow some way, possibly save “Quantum Leap?” Guess I am just not ready to let this great show get the ax yet. I hope I am not the only one who feels that way about Quantum Leap.
They need to do what they did with TIMELESS...a wrap up movie...and they need to back up the brinx truck to Scott Bakulas house to get him on board and Sam can actually be the one who gets them all home...for good.

This is fucking ridiculous, bro! Yet another cliffhanger for QL! This is seriously getting on my freaking nerves, man! Hopefully Netflix will respond quickly and pick it up back right away, please! Just like what they did with Manifest, when that was also cancelled, when it axed at NBC, they picked it up after getting the streaming rights to 3 seasons that were out at the time and its ratings blew up, and becoming #1 in Netflix's top 10 charts, and that lead to it getting a fourth and final season, not the six season story arc that creator Jeff Rake wanted, but still, Netflix gave it one more season and it got to end, even if it wasn't on their own terms without being cancelled and given the proper season order that they wanted! Like This is Us had, they planned it from the beginning and that show got to end in the summer of 2022 with a great final episode! It sucks that Quantum Leap didn't get to do the same!
This is utter bull****! The show really found its footing and I was pumped for at least one more season. There were so many possibilities and as a fan of the original, I held hope for satisfying closure not just for the characters of Ben and Addison but for Sam as well. The fans have now been cheated twice. Is there any way Apple TV+ could pick this up? They love their Sci-Fi over there. I’m so glad to hear that tired Law & Order procedurals got their renewals. Heaven forbid NBC take chances on creative and original stories that Quantum Leap offers. When networks and streaming services continually offer audiences wonderful, creative shows then pull them before they have a chance to really take off, what do they think is going to happen eventually? People are growing increasingly frustrated by this and are hesitant to commit their time to shows that may or may not be around for subsequent seasons to provide satisfying conclusions. Networks and streamers are shooting themselves in the foot and they really need to be more careful with their cancellations.
Much like Sam, hope Ben and Addison reunite with him; they will continue leaping. In a few years when the show gets picked up hope the new team finds them and bring them back home. PS: thanks for everything, the the entire QLP crew

I just found out today about the cancellation. Quantum Leap might have gone on longer if it had been on streaming instead of nbc. This is why I can't get invested in any show on nbc anymore .
Sad news enjoyed the revived show, thinking of amazing crew and cast (as you say friendly and kind to you guys and even me getting likes and comments from them on their Instagram posts. Can understand taking some time off especially with what happened to Matt who we miss. But thanks for your great work as well hopefully see the QLP still going in some form.
Shame they couldn’t sell it & continue on the sci - fi channel the way Sliders did after they had almost gotten the ax in the first 8 weeks. It would also really fit well with the sci - fi channel. I wish somebody could suggest this to the creators.

Very sad that this show has been cancelled...Timeless was another excellent show that was cancelled to soon. It's making it difficult for me to invest my time into these new shows because if it doesn't get to at least 3 seasons, it's not worth risking the invested time for it to only be cancelled without the satisfaction of seeing it end properly. Like a poster below said, I hope that Netflix or Prime picks it up because it was a really cool show.

@@Bethany1989 The show got cancelled because the ratings weren't good. I know it's easy to get mad at NBC but at the end of the day it's nothing personal and it all comes down to numbers. If the show gets a huge spike in peacock numbers or DVD sales however they might have second thoughts and bring the show back/shop it somewhere else.
I'm really sorry. I really saw this coming. I felt it was going to get cancelled. It's very sad that NBC has to have the rights to this franchise. I hope in the future they sell these rights off to someone else. So later in the future we could get another series of Quantum Leap. But for this new series it needs to be picked up soon by another. Or the actors will not be available anymore. I just hope we get more Quantum Leap in the future one day. Here's hoping.

I really liked Lee, but let’s Face it folks, you can’t just check cultural boxes to reprise some thing that was so great and admired by so many fans. This is why it only went two seasons. I am glad the series was cancelled !!! I know that sounds too cruel, but the original Quantum Leap was my part of my childhood growing up. You just had to reboot the series. No offense, but the new quantum will never be better than the original. You can't just replace Sam Beckett and Al with just anybody !!! Sam & Al were great Actors, &there was great screen play writing in the show. Also in the Original Quantum Leap. It was better because you did not have woke politics in it. It was simply about improving peoples lives by putting right what once went wrong, respecting god, & trying to get Sam Home.

That was my thoughts. I know it SEEMS negative, but sometimes the only thing that talks for SOME is money. They can put two and two together.
Actually the better thing to do would be for fans to binge watch the episodes on peacock so that NBC thinks there's a demand for the show.
@pacmancdi I could see that point of view too. However the "money talks" crowd would be better influenced by the lack of it. This is because if they don't have the money then they are forced to see why they don't.
@@Bethany1989 The show got cancelled because the ratings weren't good. I know it's easy to get mad at NBC but at the end of the day it's nothing personal and it all comes down to numbers.
If the show gets a huge spike in peacock numbers or DVD sales however they might have second thoughts and bring the show back/shop it somewhere else.

I'm really sorry. I really saw this coming. I felt it was going to get cancelled. It's very sad that NBC has to have the rights to this franchise. I hope in the future they sell these rights off to someone else. So later in the future we could get another series of Quantum Leap. But for this new series it needs to be picked up soon by another. Or the actors will not be available anymore. I just hope we get more Quantum Leap in the future one day. Here's hoping.

I loved the original. This reboot never took off for me, it was missing something in casting.
Agreed, casting was more for cultural woke applause, what happened to their imaging chamber they missed so much in this series reboot I’m not surprised, really something that they should not be proud of

I really liked Lee, but let’s Face it folks, you can’t just check cultural boxes to reprise some thing that was so great and admired by so many fans. This is why it only went two seasons. No imaging chamber, nothing from Ziggy, leaping outside of his timeline, just to name a few. This really went off the rails started off with potential, but if you have to check woke boxes for culture applause, you’re going to hear from the people who will applaud it, but it’s the true fans that know…….this was really not Quantum Leap. Not surprised at all, c’est la vie looks like the original still holds the crowning jewel

I wanted to like the show and I really tried. I watched every episode. But let's be honest, the show was objectively bad. It was a mess and I'm kinda glad it's over so I can quit torturing myself.
Some people like myself liked it. I’m sorry you couldn’t see beyond your insta hate and given it a chance because to be honest, it sounds like you wanted it to fail from the beginning. You obviously couldn’t handle it not being the exact same show from back in the day. Not everything has to be the same. There are reruns of the old one you can watch.

If it wasn’t successful, it wouldn’t have gone past episode one. Deal with this. The show didn’t die when Scott didn’t come back and they did it as a tribute to Dean Stockwell who told them to go on even if he wasn’t a part of it. I know that sounds too cruel, but the original Quantum Leap was my part of my childhood growing up. You just had to reboot the series.
No offense, but the new quantum will never be better than the original. You can't just replace Sam Beckett and Al with just anybody !!!
Sam & Al were great Actors, &there was great screen play writing in the show.
Also in the Original Quantum Leap. It was better because you did not have woke politics in it.
It was simply about improving peoples lives by putting right what once went wrong, respecting god, & trying to get Sam Home.
