In my area (Northeast US) growing chocolate mint is as easy as 1) find some chocolate mint ( Don't take from the side of the road - there are still traces of lead there left over from the leaded gasoline days.) 2) transplant a couple of sprigs, and 3) wipe hands on pants. It grows like crazy here. If you start a patch, you'll have it for life.
I’ve been growing chocolate mint the last few months but it isn’t very abundant as my regular mint is. I have the right soil. I’ve tried all of the containers and it just doesn’t seem to produce well. I’ve cut it back and rooted more. I love it in my tea. Out of all of my plants, this one seems to be the most difficult.
