Partida completa de Centurion: Defender of Rome, videojuego desarrollado por Bits of Magic para Electronic Arts publicado en 1990. Versión de PC. www.insertcoinclasicos.com
Incredible game, way ahead of it's time. I remember getting handed a 3 1/2 inch floppy disc from my friend in middle school and falling absolutely in love with this game. One day the files got corrupted somehow and I was horrified. I never forgot the game. I search for it every few years. Just tonight I typed "old dos game roman army" and finally found it. I am so happy.
the big trick in the game is to lose 5 times in the chariot races. then your odds will be 5:1 after that you just print 500 talents every other turn. can build massive fleets, fully upgraded armies, etc.
Me pasaba horas y horas jugando.
Oh i played this game a lot when i was a teenager, but i didn't know, that during the battle i can command the troops where to go lol The funny facts of this game: - the generals dont do any damage at all - Dalmatia province is the only one, you can be acquired without fight by negotiations only - the best tactic during battles is to stand fast, because when the enemy troops get close, u start to damage them while they are still marching towards you, but during this few seconds many times they start to retreat even before they could damage you. And you can click on melee when most or all of their troops are fighting, so the same will not happen to any of your troops - Parthia is using cavalry troops only, so first time when u invade them, u always loose, even though u have consular army already (6000 infantry, 600 cavalry), so against them u need to attack twice always - when u run chariot race, you need to get as fast as possible to the right side of the track and once u are there, u can press full throttle during the whole race and u can loose only, if one of your enemies manage to break your chariot
Some constructive criticism, dear maker of this LP. Stand fast and then form a line. Wink wink, you'll win every battle on galley slave level. You're welcome. 🥰
Lol omg the music some gladiator stuff and good view of rome computer version is not much different though from the Sega Genesis game I bought over 30 years ago at Mauck's.

Check also Caesar 2... they both the best Roman games ever.
I have external FDD-drive with DOS and floppy with centurio. So i can load clear dos and start centurio without any emulator - pure nostalgia!
@@spearPYN Rome total war is best. both.
Same here.
Hello nostalgia my old friend, I've come to listen to you again...
Oh, i loved that game! I can´t say, how many times i used to play it. :)
lol 5:25
Good memories of the excellent Roman emergency services. :D

Still gets me erry time
jajajajaj
how do you ride those, though
I still have the music from this game in my head
Before Total War there was Centurion, amazing how much of that game's DNA survived to this day.
In fact, it's still funny nowadays
Amazing game. You could even marry Cleopatra. Lots of fun.
In case someone was wondering, here are the exact moral values for all provinces:
Dacia - 90
Carghago, Macedonia, Parthia, Thracia, Scythia - 85
Gaul, Britannia, Sarmatia - 80
Italia, Germania - 75
Aegyptus - 70
Syria - 60
Alps, Sicilia, Armenia - 55
Cilicia, Hispania, Sardinia, Narbonesis - 50
Mesopotamia - 45
Pontus, Asia, Cyrenaica - 40
Dalmatia, Arabia - 35
Mauretania - 20
Strange numbers. What are they thinking?
The accelerating ship battle music gets the adrenaline pumping like crazy.
I played this game , along time ago!! its perfect!!!

I was 7 back then, my first strategy game that got me hooked on strategy games.
This game looks like its more fun than most other games nowdays.
Yes
It was/is.
It is actually more fun than anything released after 2005
I did play this on my old Sega Megadrive. It was one of my favorites.... oh, how may memories....
A mi me encantaba este juego. Me pasaba horas y horas jugando.
The memories unlocked…
it actually is more fun than most games nowerdays. :)
Yes Indeed
Good playthrough, thanks for that.
Had no idea Rob Hubbard (famous for C64 games) did the music programming on this title. Small world.
Wonderful music, by the way
@@Insertcoinclasicos Thanks for the upload. Had memories of this game from the early 90's as a teenager. Fun times.
Stay well mate.
Great game. I remember Gaul and Germania are the best places to raise an army.
Had this on the Amiga, great game.
I thought I played all the classics back in the day. I guess I missed this one.
I absolutely love this game, every time im down i play it 😊

You're only correct with points 1, 3 & 5.
@@justtime6736 please give a bit more explanation to this
@flaschleit also not only Dalmatia can be negotiated, how on earth get laid with Cleopatra anyway D
All provinces can be acquired by negotiations except Scythia, Carthage and Parthia
For battle I am not expert but u can use tactics or make sure your troop morale is sufficient
It was my favourite game for years...
o my goth! i love this game!
I loved this game
This game turned me to PC and made me foget commodore 64 :)
I adored this game

Amazing game, the only problem was difficulty level -it's too easy or too difficult. Otherwise - pure gem.
you're totally right
greatest game ever❤
A classic
Still better than Rome II.
0:39 instant shiver
You may use ships in order to transport units
45:12 i never knew if one tactic or another had really an impact on the outcome. Regardless the tactic used it always looked like a melee to me
It does have some impact. I usually used frontal assault on enemies with tighter formations to flank and then encircle with melee.
the other provinces dont go to hunt down rome?
Juego buenisimo. ¿Hay alguna forma de conseguirlo? Gracias
Ancestor of Total War, maybe...
Totally

How can this be more fun than any Total War game ;d The graphics are better too ^^
omg galley slave level... and defeat in gaul...
Rofl you really had trouble locating Narboninsis

love this game BUT prefer the Amiga 500 version and sound effects more....as the Amiga 500 has war-cries horses galloping sounds elephants sounds ect
u didnt do it. your suppose to seduce Cleopatra to get Egypt!!!!!! lol
n yes u its in the game. arrr the good old days :)
I'm this old.. lol
how did you invade britannia?
what is the point of the charriot races?
To keep the citizens content. If not, they might revolt and you'll loose territory.

in harder difficulties, are excelent for flanking and attack rear, or chase the enemy general

Sorry, but this player doesn't know how to play.
