This is the Q and A session that followed Paul Carden's presentation, "The Apostolic Imperative and the International Adventist Challenge." This is part of the annual Former Adventist Fellowship Weekend 2009 that takes place at Trinity Church in Redlands, California. Participants: Jonathan Bilima,moderator; Paul Carden, Dale Ratzlaff, Greg Taylor, Colleen Tinker.
I've been around Evangelicals all my life (born Baptist) and never have heard more articulate answers to these items than this panel of former SDA's. Brilliant and anointed.
Thank you. You guys at Former Adventists have been a huge support to me. I left in 1989 because all I felt in my mind was guilt, pain and condemnation. There was no internet or much support in those days. How I wish there was though. Now there is and it’s a gift from God... who is loving and kind as the gospel says. Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so...

Wow! I'm so glad I finally found you guys. Listening to you guys has helped me to become stronger and hold fast to the teachings of the SDA Church. None of you can logically debunk and refute the teachings of Seventh-day Adventist from the Bible. I am convinced that you were all hurt and offended by some leaders and church members, and thus made you bitter and sour toward the Advent Message. None of you are convinced by your utterances, because you all know it's nonsense, if you were at one time genuine SDA Church members. Take your hurt and bitterness to The Lord in prayer.
What the lady said about when you meet Christ and then don’t find him in the church ! Yes I get that . Jesus saved me December 2018 and the more I attend Adventist’s church the more separated I feel from him. I will never forget the love he showed me it fills me with joy. I go to church and no one seems happy , they are all concerned with dressing in a certain way eating certain foods etc and there’s no joy in their worship
Totally my experience too!
God, my Lord revealed His truth to me after years of being an adventist. He heard my distress in my tears and prayers and He brought me out. Adventism uses Revelation to put fear into those poor souls looking for salvation when Revelation was written to warn apostate Israel who broke their convenant with God. They use their health seminars as an entry to slip in their erroneous teachings. After seeing so much biblical deception and un-brotherly love, I had enough and waited on bowed knees for my Lord to free me. What love, what mercy...Praised be the name Jesus Christ. Lord of all. The epistles are the books in the bible that have shown me so much more of who this God is...the One True Lord! My soul truly magnifies the Lord, my God! He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. All we can do is pray those who are still trapped in Adventism that the Lord will open their eyes and hearts.
Our dear brothers and sisters it is very reassuring that you are so kind and generous to your former cult members who are still chained to Ellen White’s ship of pain.
Those of us who endured some decades of spiritual abuse find it a tad hard to be so sweet, but we and THE LORD ARE WORKING ON IT.
INDEED WE ARE ALREADY BEING SLEDGED BY TIRESOME HAND WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE LABOURING WITH OUR SOULS OVER SABBATARIANISM.
WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN CONSIGNED TO HELL.
MAY YOU GROW AND PROSPER AND GIVE YOU SUCCESS AGAINST THE SDA CON ARTISTS.

There is urgency to bring light to how adventists deceive. Helping those that are seeking to study their way out. Help Christians to know they are deliberately targeted. We should know the trappings of wolves in our midst. The bible is the key in its full context. .leave behind the lesser light in wearing the goggles of false "profit" if you have Christ..and trust in his finished works . you are already ready for any and all times of trouble on this earth... Blessed Assurance. Thank God for this work!
Holy spirit has been showing me thru the years the good news.. always was feeling couldnt get good enough.. fear... i picked that up as a child growing up in this church. It's like sabbath sermons and Eg. Buried Jesus and his messege under WHERE i wasnt able to come to even BARELY know what The plan of salvation even was... although i talked to Jesus since a child. This has been a long Journey To Just getting to understand the GOOD NEWS !

Fantastic Alisa. The fear is from hell. There is no condemnation in Jesus.
Yes, yes, yes. Two people out of my Seventh Day Adventist high schoolclass of about 25 are now Athiests! There may be more as I have lost touch with almost all of them. I try to tell them that Jesus gave us grace when he died on the cross and being a Christian isn't impossible as the SDAs make you believe. It is all about love and grace and proclaiming Christ as your Lord and Savior.

I never understood how they could push the sabbath so much when the new testament doesnt command believers to keep it.. They talk more of that than of Jesus Himself
The SDA talk about the love of Jesus and the Sabbath truth.
That's because Adventists believe that the Sabbath will be the last test to believers. What they call Sunday law. Which is an invention of Joseph Bates :)

Folks like us SDA escapees need to know that you will be regarded by remaining rusted on SDAs with a combination of wonder, fear, and derision.
We are still harassed by various of our previous fellow cultists letting us know I no uncertain terms that we are lost and on a highway to hell.
It is not enough for them to bid us farewell to hell, but they are determined to lurk on life’s journey like guerillas.
Don’t be fooled by their contrived fraternal smiles.

I truly want to thank God through the Holy Spirit the way He has spoken to those men and women to come out of that grave yard that hell_end -g white was taking them down.
JESUS said the TRUTH that you know will set you FREE and freedom only comes through the very giver of the law. Any true adventis reading the 7th chapter of Romans.the book of Galatians,2nd Corinthians cph 3 can NEVER remain in that cult and don't walk out from it.

I'm in some Facebook religious Christian groups.... and it seems like they are under what I think is an organized attack by people who I think are SDA!

The problem is it that is a different principle than thou shall not not murder , it says if you have grudge against a person that for no reason it is like the same thing as murder.
Dale says higher law, I say it is a higher principle.

i wonder what kind of spirit is speaking to you and dont think what religion or faith youre in youre gonna think about you losing your salvation because of the trials tests and persecutions we would receive but the promises of God in His word is what strengthens and assures us of the hope in Christ
Still struggle with fear at times.. or sabbath . But less then before. Thats by Holy spirit helping me to gain the truth and showing me the Real!!!

Her writings are the final authority They look at the bible through her lenses and twist them to say and mesnwhat they want. They truly do not divide scripture well by precept upon precept

The only mistake that is correct is that the general conference and the conferences have been taken over by the Jesuits and the teachings of the doctrines today and to you during your time was inadequate said for your self is also that you were not strong enough to know what happened and that the enemy has destroyed the denomination and the pastorship and that your pains are legitimate and that the conferences are not and are intent on the billions of dollars that they receive from the faithful members that are nowadays not being fed what was the original faith and biblical doctrine see the sermons of the former adventist on steps to life a non conference pastors and redeem your self to repentance and accountability to Christ
A lot of people forget that she had an accident when she was a kid and she almost didn't survive. Her intelligence really diminished and she couldn't underdstand as good as she did before. It left her with a mental issues. She would try and copy things of other people.

I'm SDA and I have to wonder, how do you people view other Sabbath keeping Christians like Seventh Day Baptist? I was not always SDA, I was raised LCMS and when I attended Confirmation, the first thing the Lutheran Church taught me was, that the Church, in her authority, changed the Sabbath to Sunday, in honor of his resurrection. The Bible says to have communion in remembrance of his resurrection. So, while I don't agree with much of what EGW wrote, there are many things the Adventist Church teaches and believes are biblical. There is no way you can convince me of Sunday Sacredness being biblical or as you put it, a New Covenant Christian. While you start off this discussion group with kind words of not desiring to bash Adventist, that's exactly what you achieved with your subtle sarcasm of Adventist beliefs.
If a person wants to keep one day sacred over another that’s ok. It’s the fact sda’s teach the sabbath is the end time seal of God and therefore a salvation issue that is the problem. That’s a works salvation.
The Sunday worship was given before the law was given to Moses. Please read Exodus 12:16;
SDA say they only will be in heaven. And the other sabbath keepers don’t have the spirit of prophecy or the testimony of Jesus. So they don’t qualify also. John 10:16 read, the SDA say Jesus will direct these too SDA as they have sop and test of Jesus. Where is this in the bible.😳😖🙈I was SDA for over 20 yrs. they so believe in EGW it’s mind bogling🤔🤫I was baptised and spent many years NOT even hearing EGW. My baptism was all for God no mention of EGW. Then when all falling apart they say We must go back to her🥳😩🥺 each person you speak to says something else, it was getting too confusing, All people were falling away, I have bone illness, no one cared, just said take care OF Yourself.😝All is falling away, they are trying hard to hold on. Oh well I have moved away, No one called. Not nice people.😖🤭🙉🤦♀️
Why are you so desperate to protect a particular day as being sacred? That day was a shadow of Christ. Jesus said the law and the prophets were speaking of HIM but they wouldn’t come to Him. Once a week, they were reminded to rest. Now we know that God’s rest is in Christ. So, if you are so desperate to rest so as to not break covenant, you’ve not entered the covenant of rest. Where we rest from our works and rest in the works of Christ. My friend, we are free in Christ
Agreed. No one can ever convince me that Sunday is sacred, given the history of Constantine and the Catholic Church.
youre saved according to what you know,if you are taught the sabbath esp by the Holy Spirit and rejects continually it then youre lost
You are not saved by your knowledge, if that were true then the angels that sinned would be saved but instead we see that they know God and tremble and fear Him but yet don’t believe in Him.
The sabbath was speaking of your rest in Christ. If you keep the Sabbath and reject your rest in Christ then you’ll be judged by Moses. And that won’t be pleasant
