That stuff is going around up here too. My sister was sick as a dog for 5 days with strep. So far I have been lucky & have not came down with anything yet.
Between school and my wife working at a Dr’s office it’s enviable.

Good luck with the repairs. I hate to try to sell stuff. I needed to sell the John Deere 6600 combine with the 216 head. But so far, everyone wants me to give it to them.
That's a long drive and hopefully they'll get it fixed quick and efficient but more importantly, at a cost effective rate. Best wishes Russ and hope you all have a blessed weekend my friend.

The ? Is how far do you go on repairs. Bro-inlaw had to do his trans last yr. $3500 it took most of the gears . Started with 3rd. We took our culters off, with our clay it would pick it up and it would Stick to the firming wheels and we get a s***** depth thenthen

You know it will cost out the wazoo. Whether or not it all gets fixed is another story.
You’re gaining acreage when you do that . Subsoil it slowly on the edge and rid yourself of those crop killing sucker roots !

Russ, I had the same thing with my 2388, had to shift like you said climbing under and pounding it in the gear you wanted. It's from running with it not fully in gear, I pulled mine and replaced 2 gears that slide on the shift rails. They get slightly worn and won't engage
Worst part was dropping the transmission out and putting it back in. It's one heavy ass thing to handle. Don't let them talk you into a new transmission. It's not a big repair!
I had a mobile mechanic tell me we would be better off with a new one. When we were at the salvage yard last month I started to price a used one but the guy that prices stuff wasn’t there.
