Great video, super cool from a fantasy perspective. Correct me if I’m wrong but I find it a bit unrealistic that these dragons could even fly. But there might be something I’m missing. 9:49 the thing is A creature weighing 2 tons would never be able to fly on earth. The largest flying animals, the Azhdarchids which at largest weight like 300kg. A 2 Ton animal would never be able to fly. Especially not on Kaimere which I believe has 3 times the mass of earth which would make a 2 ton animal on earth, weigh 6 tons on Kaimere. So even if the Dragon weighed 2 tons on earth, it would weigh 6 tons on Kaimere’s gravity which makes it even less likely it could fly. not a problem in fantasy but Kaimere has many realism elements so I think this is something you need to think about. Or explain via magic or something.
It's something I've thought about. I've got a few supplements (magic in the skin aiding in lift added during their domestication) but at the end of the day it's not plausible. Magic incorporating negatively buoyant gas can only add so much lift. Like a lot of science fiction, this setting tries to have some grounded explanations but it's really just verisimilitude.
Depends on who you ask. I've heard more naturalist favoring top order carnivore lately, but I wouldn't say it's more correct, just favored by an increasing number of naturalists. Maybe you could argue that makes the former more correct, but both terms are found in modern literature.
Are the many kinds of dragons listed here still roaming Kaimere, or were they created just for Smaugust? Burrowing All Aquatic themed dragons Kaiju Avain Mammalian Reptilian Demonic
Do your dragons have an air sac system ? Or do they store a light gas such as hydrogen to help them fly ? With the Kamerian Dragons being stem-mammal derived, I would assume they proportionally heavier than flying theropods.
They don't have unidirectional breathing or air sacs. Their bones are hollow, however. Even so, their flight lacks endurance because of lacking the lightening adaptations of pterosaurs and birds, which is why the range of dragons is quite restricted.
Probably not. That said, something that large is probably not moving a lot and certainly not with much coordination. While there’s not much that stands a chance of taking it down, it also isn’t a threat. It’s more spectacle than anything else. Trying to fight would likely result in it toppling over and breaking bones
@TalesofKaimere Sounds in need of some witchcraft to have it functional. I don't presume it'd even be taking flight then? Still a living piece of spectacle produced by witches and breeders "because they could" is a testament to their power... and arguably ethics. But I think the natives took issue with the dragon riders, so no surprise there? Wonderful as always.
@@TheEarlofManwhich Thanks! Yeah it almost certainly required a bond with a powerful witch to even move. Again, there's no tangible evidence it actually existed. Could simply be a legend and nothing more.
Likely not. Rabies if I recall correctly evolved after the Eurasian harvests so wouldn't have had the opportunity for introduction. If introduced in the mercantile age, any dogs infected would have shown signs before they reached the portal. Either way, almost impossible for it to have reached the Permian Islanders and their dragons. There will be plenty of independent diseases in Kaimere and these islands though.
@@TalesofKaimere Will you so just removed it from UA-cam ?
