I have a smiliar story to yours, I definitely thought "this is cool people music" when I first discovered them in 2012 and I was just entering high school. No one liked them as much as I did and I felt like people recognized them because of me. But I have never had the opportunity to go to their live concert. I love what they're currently doing for PSOM with all these shows and the skating rink (what an awesome idea) but I don't live in the US so I feel major FOMO from all of this. I hope they come to Europe again so I can see them at least once in my life
I wasn’t fortunate enough to discover the band til i was 18 in 2017. I heard Helena Beat and then listened to all of their music and the magic and knew i had to see them live. It turned out that they were playing ACL a month out which is about a 7 hour drive. I had never been to a festival and i was there solely for FTP. Me and my brother both bought a ticket and went to see them at ACL in 2017. Got to see them 5 times more times in between then an now. Drove 17 hrs in ‘18 to see them on the beach in Alabama at hangout fest. In 2021 we Drove 15 hours to LA for 2 nights of Torches X which still feels like a dream. 7 years, 9 festivals, and a shit ton of concerts later they are finally coming back to ACL fest where it all started for me. To top it off they are doing a headlining FTP show and a FTP dj set PLUS the festival performance. and somehow i was lucky enough to manage to get tickets for all 3. I was really starting to worry they were done for good but they’re back in full force and i couldn’t be happier🎉
