Film study of The Ravens Offense vs. Chiefs - 1st drive/2nd half and a look at Coach Monken's comments that The Ravens could have run the ball "better"
Bro! THANK YOU! Nothing about what KC did caught the Ravens off guard, it was just poor execution by the players. You cannot expect to win a championship game when you are literally leaving yards & big plays on the field EVERY DRIVE! Everybody wants to blame the coaches for the lack of rush attempts when it clearly was an issue was poor execution. Monken would have been foolish to keep pounding his head against that brick wall knowing his guys weren’t executing the most basic assignments.
So in other words, Lamar choke. If there were opportunities that the coaches created and Lamar did not execute it means he choke. So why are Ravens fan getting upset when I say Lamar choke.
@@JAmCaM212 Not sure if it is simple as a choke but Lamar was slow. I can see why he lost some weight this offseason as he could have run wild in this game.
@@JAmCaM212 if you wanna say he choked, failed, came up short or just needs to execute better, it’s all the same in my book. Same goes for all the players that fux up that game.
Lamar all year was running to not get injured IMO and that’s what’s been drilled in his head, but it was definitely opportunities. I do believe the game plan to attack 2 high was poor because they didn’t put the safeties in conflict like when Zay caught that bomb. To me that was luck cause Nelly should have carried his route up and since he didn’t it was no reason for the safety to go with him.
I'll watch that more bankslaw. I'm not sure the route combinations did much in the way of conflicting defenders. So far in watching not enough attacking LB's in coverage
Thank you for the video. They certainly didn't execute those plays well. However, I still blame the coaches. You're going to have bad plays but it was still such a small sample size. I love the term 'establishing the run'. I think sometimes it can take a bit to find your groove running the ball in a game and that some initial failure happens some times but to run the ball less than 16 times (less if you take away scrambles) in a one score game is inexcusable
Yes you can run better always. But you have to make a genuine attempt to run the ball. The way the offense fail to win against the Chiefs and the Steelers tell me monken is not good at scheming plays. He panicked in the Chiefs game. I believe with Henry if the Ravens can get the receivers in the endzone we can win this chiefs game. Ravens have a whole troupe of receivers that have to get them in the endzone and not depend on one.
The problem is the Chiefs will probably score alot more points than 17. Their offense will be much better. As good as Lamar is I don't see him scoring 30 points against Spag defense and he will need 30 to win.
E Outstanding Video I See Why Todd Said "Better" And Why 8 loss weight even with our limited runs it was plays to be made we pick a bad day to have a bad day To Beat Mahomes Ravens Going To Have To Score 27 31 points you have to either have the ball last for the go ahead touchdown field goals ain't going cut it or already be up and properly running the clock out Pat super clutch and rarely beats himself
Regardless they still avg 5+ ypc on 16 carries. They avg 32 carries a game. Isiah Pacheco had 24 carries alone and was less effective. But they stayed with it. The Ravens deviated from the run against a Chiefs run defense that was *POROUS* all season. On the other hand they tried to attack their strong suit in their pass defense. We were #1 in rushing *NOT* passing. As a matter of fact were we even ranked in half the pack? Plus, much better at run blocking opposed to exposing its *HORRIFIC* O-line pass pro wasn't it. Lastly, the Chiefs were 2nd in sacks behind only the Ravens as well. Simply put the Ravens did exactly what the Chiefs wanted them to do.
I still think the NFL told the Ravens that Lamar couldn’t run in the first half, cause you don’t run this style of offense since high school and then 10 years later miss those type of keep reads. That whole game was suspect to me….
lol if you can’t admit this league is rigged you’re probably the same type of person try and debunk UFOs even thought the government has released the footage 😂
Outstanding content just Outstanding! 👍🏽🫶🏾
Thanks Craig. I appreciate the encouragement

Of course, Thanks for commenting. Really a shoddy performance on offense.

I am enjoying these film breakdowns. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Mike!
Man, this is like bad medicine, but it's needed.
Great video
Thanks Clifford for watching
Keaton was the only runner that kept going after contact. His injury killed that part of our ground game.

I think in Romans offense he needed the extra weight now he sees in a monkens system he can go back to the old Lamar.
Thanks Professor. Absolutely need to put up points if you're going to beat them. When they need points in crunch time they usually find them

You’d think Lamar would make better decisions on read option plays
If the problem was Lamar its fair to say he choke.
