I'm a 2.5k hour C3-GC player. I've played since early 2016 while only really becoming competitive toward the end of 2018. I agree with your points and hope your message reaches people. I have a few people I play with all the time and they keep me sane and focused on enjoying the journey rather than fixating on that next rank. I would recommend at least one if not multiple grinding partners to anyone interested In improving their performance. There is a reason so many players despise one's you're the only person you can blame and it brings you down. having someone who is a similar skill to take on that burden with you is game-changing.
As a negative, I think you left smurfing and boosting out of the difficulty to rank up the challenge. You say someone has to earn their rank but around GC there is a point where people have to hit all the basics at a fairly consistent level to compete. You can't have someone whiffing every ball, only going for 2x commits, or simply not hitting power shots every single time the opportunity comes around and expect to win the game. Fairly often I run into teammates that have obviously been boosted for the title and are severely lacking in certain components of their game. Another constant occurrence is Mr. "Not a smurf" with a default car, a 600 MMR, playing with his friends in a low GC lobby but, stomping everyone. Say on a bad night this happens 1/6th of the time each well then theirs a third of my games where the other team has an unfair advantage.
To combat this issue you can still get better, just like to pass diamond solo you have to be a mid-champ with a team. Another compromise is to stop boosting your friends and stop creating accounts to play with your friends. I have one alternate account I use to play with champ friends. I do not de-rank it but I only use it to play with low Champs so, in essence, that is my rank with low champs. if they are more than 3 ranks below you, play casual and quit being the problem. I have some nights where I don't run into any smurf opponents or boosted teammates. Those are some of my most fun nights and I hope someday that will be the norm.

Haha I’m US-E, always looking for like minded similarly skilled people to play with, but one of us would have 100+ ping. Its awesome to hear people in a similar situation agree with my philosophies. I try to maintain the spirit of the game and keep all my games competitive even though I may technically be breaking terms of service. Rocket league doesn’t have a system to play with various skill levels so some allowances must be made.
People despise 1s because they refuse to get better and dont wanna ruin their ego. I prefer 1s over 2s because I wont have a teammate that could cost us the game. 1s is imo a lot better because ranking up is a lot more linear with improvement. In 1s if youre improving, then youre ranking up, thats a fact. Theres no teammate to hold you back. Isnt that great? But in 2s you could be improving but not ranking up. In 1s you WILL rank up if you work on improving.
It was nice hearing it's okay and normal to get worse before you get better. I recently dropped a lil money on a coaching session. I learned so much and am thankful, but 2 weeks later I have dropped rank and am like wtf. But I have to remind myself I am trying new mechanics and tweaking my play style. Once I get those down, I'm sure I will shoot up to better than I was before!
The fact that you're willing to review people's replays and help them discover what they're doing wrong because some of us just don't realize is amazing. Of course that's a lot of work for one person so you're even creating a community just to help those players. I think that's absolutely amazing and appreciate all the effort you're putting into the Rocket League community!
I often can't figure out what I'm doing wrong myself and I'm a D1-D2 in 2s. Sometimes I think just everything I do is wrong no matter what, sometimes I tell myself it's my teammates, and occasionally I blame it on my huge lack of mechanics. But I believe there's plenty of things I just don't notice, maybe some rotations I'm just not understanding and whatnot.
Regardless I appreciate everything you've done so far for the Rocket League community as a whole, I've only just started diving into your 10 episode series you made 10 months ago and I've already learned a few things within the first couple episodes. I believe this channel will make tons of progress in the near future and all that amazing work you've been doing will pay off. Best of luck in it all, I can't wait to see all the new content you bring!

Tbh my strat to rank up is to just grind a bunch of 1s then play 2s or 3s. Ignore your rank in 1s and just use it to train your mechanics. After the grind in 1s, you will have superior mechanics and game sense compared to players who hasnt played 1s as much. I grinded 1s for like 2 weeks and went back to 2s and ranking up was a lot easier.

This is exactly what I'm doing at the moment, at first I was nervous and now I don't care who I play in 1s, I might win I might not. I don't care but I'm always trying new things to see how far I can push certain plays and am learning the do's and donts on my own. I'm just trying to get better with the limited time I got to play which is on the weekends due to work/family
@@daveross222 yeah, I can win if i play it safe and do the stuff im comfortable with. But it wont benefit me from improving in the long run, so I just use 1s to practice mechanics/shots/saves that Im not comfortable with. I might not win that way, but I will improve. I did that and I was dominant towards other players that I played in 2s and 3s

Hey don't know who you are but you were on my recommended! I enjoyed the vid and subbed. I'm 27yo dad of 2 working fulltime that started at free to play coming from fps games I found rl very challenging but it pulled me in. I sought out some vids on yt, adjusted my settings, controls and how to get better. I kind of want to say rocket league has been easy to rank up in, you don't need crazy reflexes just a bit of timing. With ping and servers and hit reg and cheaters and fast reacting 11 years it's impossible to rank in fps. In rocket league I just followed the simple roadmap that was recommended by the community, used freeplay and workshop maps and practiced things I didn't know. By S3 I had a red RNG title and S4 I hit GC in 2s. I play with a couple of friends of friends that have played since launch and they are diamond/platinum. The biggest thing is they never trained anything whether mechs, theory, replays, rlcs. (Also if you're on 60 fps do yourself a favour and upgrade. Idk how you can train anything on such a low fps because I tried when my PC was down and it wasn't good) Let me know what you think!

I do believe this is accurate based on how they do it. It’s kind of a “test” to see if you’re really good enough, can you offset someone on the decline

Respectfully disagree, had plenty of teammates that were definitively holding me back, and as soon as I escape those ranks rising 2 or 3 more full tiers is easy. Side note though, this has way more effect in 3s than 2s.

@xspider_web It's honestly only in Plat to Diamond and solo queuing is my thing. Too much they just full charge the ball when a teammate is on it, removing control(and 2 things of boost) from the game. You could sit back and boom it at those levels and win 75%, though. But this is probably 90% of why solo standard was removed way back. I don't think it accurately reflects ranks, but when people join with a low man and you get stuck with a matching one who doesn't know they're the problem, it tilts the algorithm into self reinforcement.
As someone with a heart condition, the intro was very unsettling. I'm sure the video is great, but your intro ultimately put me into a horrible state of anxiety.
I am sorry for that, and will be considerate of it in the future!
With better thumbnails you will have thousands of subs. Instead of just throwing random stuff on there make it work with the title. Look at bigger youtuber thumbnails and take ideas! Good quality content, turn up your mic tho
