Hawks have 2 options trade the number 1 pick and add a player that can help this team win now or trade Trae Young. I do not believe they will add a young player to this team if they are not rebuilding and i dont believe trae would even want that.

The NBA, in my mind, is telling the Hawks to go ahead and rebuild... trade Murray, Capela and Trae for younger players and assets while helping out some other team be more competitive. I would love to see the actual Lottery Draw done out front in public view on live TV... word to Cleveland getting three #1 overall picks in four years after losing LeBron and New Orleans with 6% chance getting Zion after trading AD to the Lakers for LeBron. The NBA is a business first-most and all of the owners are on the same team.
I think people(draft experts) are really sleeping on Ron Holland. 20/7/3/3.2 stocks at 18 years old in a man’s league?? He can’t shoot fine. 73% FT and youth are in his side. Plus he projects to be an All World wing defender. To me he has the fewest holes and should clearly be number 1. After him I like Castle and then Sheppard. Those three have the highest probability of being high level NBA players with Holland and Castle having the highest superstar potential. Just my two cents.
Also Devin Carter will be a very good player. After that, not too sure.

Keep it simple. Draft Alex Sarr if his workouts are impressive. Move forward with a front court rotation of Alex, Jalen and Onyeka. Trade Clint Capela and explore your options for Trae.
Booo. We are not trading Trae lmao everybody wants us to trade him but WE DONT WANT TO REBUILD. And a rebuild would not make sense for us right now since we don’t have our picks, and hell no I’m not trading Trae to the spurs for our picks back hell no they can keep those picks I’d be willing to trade Murray but not Trae.

Dalton Knecht or Stephon Castle might be ROY at picks 7-10, while #1-3 - Sarr, Risacher & Topic might be average players.

Every team wants to find the next Luka, that's why teams are hot on Euro players like Risacher, Topic etc
If you trade Murray and Trey you don’t have your own draft picks. Plus the Hawks already said they are in win mode and who are you getting back in these trades
I think the Hawks for now are looking for sure things. Murray is a sure thing despite trading what would have been mid round first pick for 2025/26 to the Spurs. At the very least he can still be moved. As much as Trae is difficult to optimize, he is also the most sure thing the Hawks have until his contract runs in 26/27. So maybe the Hawks GM/scout should do the most homework of the top prospects this year and convince teams to trading up to pick first. Then actually get the guy they are sure of say 2 spots down while netting future assets. Because its going to be difficult trading away Trae then realizing filling the void he leaves in playmaking/scoring/spacing (to some degree) is a whole lot more difficult without having other sure talents.

Absolutely. How that was missed says everything...The Hawks have no incentive to be bad. They got a gift being very injured last year and rising up to win it. If they don't keep Trae, draft Sarr, then everyone should be fired.

@@reginaldwilliams9792 Sarr handles the ball from rim to rim, defend the rim and in space, scores on all levels, and pass the rock, he's what we've needed, y trade Trae and DJ when we have other assets to trade, namely CC and Bogdan upgrade both positions

Oladipo should have gone 1. Injuries destroyed his career. But he was an All Star, All NBA and MIP. He was going to be special.
It's never bad to have the top pick in any draft. Saying otherwise is just weird fan logic. Even if you think there are only role players in this draft, you'd want the top pick to get the best one for your team. That being said, they themselves admitted there will be very good players that come out of this draft. So of course they want the top pick. It's just on the GM to draft the best guy and if he doesn't he's probably looking for a new job in a few years anyways...
@@RogerThat902 In that case the GM/scouts of the Hawks have to know the top pool of guys better than the guys picking below them. Its def one thing Ainge demonstrated well in his mid 2010s GM run with the Celtics. Especially in 2017 where the consensus thought it was Fultz/Ball/Tatum with the Celtics picking first. Then they traded down to let Philly pick first while Ainge knew he'd end up with his guy all along at the 3rd pick. In that draft class as well many high impact players floating in the teens but were kind of projects (Mitchell, Adebayo).
