It's rare that I become so infatuated with a specific actor/actress that I seek out as many movies I can find them in to enjoy their work. Alicia Vikander is extremely talented and immensely gorgeous. Look forward to seeing more from her.
You prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last couple of months :)
Always wondered how her skin color changed - in anna karenina she was quite pale but ever since then, her skin color is as if she's algerian! Karenina is one of mgy favorite books of all time and the movie is quite spectacular - i love how they made it quite unique in treating it as if it's a play in some scenes. Keira's performance broke my heart.
She is beautiful, smart, talented... so the envious like to set traps, to search eternally for the flaw. The interviewer has little to no interest in learning what she has to say. There is a pinch of derogatory inference in almost every question he asks her. I want to know what she is all about, and I have since learned she is about creating art. I love it! Oh, and then finally a compliment... 11 minutes into the interview. Two thumbs down for the interviewer, and many kudo to Miss Vikander for her resilience and grace.
Just to help people who are confused about her accent. During Anna Karenina she had a dialect coach to help her get the British accent and eventually kept the British accent to get more film roles and enter Hollywood
She is most likely getting an Oscar nomination this year, and hopefully receiving the award. Absolutely deserved. She is great. But Alicia, you say 'you know' way too much :)
Didn't you have another interview of her here? I believe she had her British accent on it as well. Are you removing some of your videos by any chance? Thanks! :)
**Protip for future interviewers.** Whenever you're thinking of asking "What's the worst question you've ever been asked?" there's no need - you've already answered it.
Swedish actress Alicia Vikander uses an American accent during the interviews. She sounds like American. But in the next one, she is now using a British accent. Rather than American English or British English. It is so good to see Alicia on her first interview since 2012.
Okay...this is weird. I just watched another video of her and she had a british accent. Now she sounds like she is using an American accent. I guess this is something that she is good at doing, but it is a little odd. Maybe she uses the accent she thinks people will identify with the most in whatever country she is in. In the Royal Affair, she had a british accent when she spoke English and she spoke Danish like a pro. It was totally believable. Quite a talent.
It depends which crew (British/American) is making the movie, she picks up an accent easily when she spends much time around certain speakers while filming. Some people (including myself) unintentionally put on a manner of speech of people they've spent some time with. That includes accent, pitch and intonation :D
Really no money no world can give a man the joy this woman gives to a man by only looking at her character her voice and her looks man i would give 30 years of my live to have a girl like this :(
Alicia Vikander is so wonderful in every interview she does. I hope that this interviewer has learnt in the meantime. He seems to only ask what he assumes about her and does not pose open questions which would give the actress an opportunity to show more of her strength. His style gives us as viewers the impression of a condescending interviewer who does not really respect the person who is sitting in front of him. I do not think that he wants to give this impression. But I felt very bad for Alicia Vikander and often cringed inside.
@@dp30 I saw your answer just now and I am not sure if you will read mine (many months later). But as you said that I am projecting: I read it that you felt that I wrote in a disrespectful way and you have a point there (English is not my first language) and I feel that I could have articulated myself better. I empathized too much with Alicia Vikander and not with you. And we are all not without our faults and can improve. Me too. So I sincerely apologize in the case that I hurt your feelings. Empathy and listening to the person you talk too is really important to me and I thank you for answering to my comment. Even though we have had some problems in understanding each other. I hope that you are healthy and that you feel supported in these especially hard times! All the best to you from Berlin, Germany.
I think that the interviewer means well, and has a genuine interest, but I have a theory as to why he comes across as being totally inarticulate. I think maybe Ms. Vikander is just so beautiful, that the interviewer has lost all ability to use normal English. Speaking for myself, I think she would throw my concentration. I would be lucky to remember my own name. I would turn vegetarian and swim 5kms just to have coffee with her. Elegant, graceful, talented, modest yet mentally sharp. I'm really looking forward to her future movies. She is one of the 8 people that would automatically make me want to see a movie just knowing that they are acting in it.
I speak danish and shift from canadian to american to english all the time, depending on who I'm speaking with. It's just not natural for for me to speak with an american accent, if I'm talking to an english person - wanna remind ya though, there's a transision. A blend :-)
I'm new to Alicia... just saw Ex Machina, but I don't watch movies so much. I think that interview went quite well. What's wrong with the questions, as some comments imply? Now I need to see A Royal Affair. It's always interesting to hear Danish spoken by non-Danes :)
Absolute worst interviewer, over 3 years have passed and this interview still makes me cringe. His demeaning and completely disrespectful attitude is so unsettling throughout this entire video. There’s a difference between making casual conversation (which is what I’m assuming he was aiming for) and just offering up rude off-putting questions that serve no purpose other than to twist her words and place her strangely on the defense. Alicia handled it with such patience and grace but you can clearly see how uncomfortable she was after he delivered each of his belittling questions. I've come back to watch this interview and it's still just as awful as I felt it was years ago.
Not so worried that you don't like my method of interviewing, but I am fascinated by the idea that you think I was in some way condescending. Is it that you think I was overly familiar? I'd be curious about your take on the Danish Girl interview. Still horrible?
+DP/30: The Oral History Of Hollywood I love your interviews. I find them fascinating. I feel that you get the most interesting conversations of any interviewers as you allow these artists space to talk in ways that you rarely find elsewhere. Keep doing you!
Funny how her accent has changed to an english accent, she now lives in London and has done several British movies, so it's understandable and she's only 26. I like her american accent, sounds more natural.
🇸🇪🌞 A little curiousity for all the people that never have been to Scandinavia; As a matter of fact, though the close vicinity to Denmark - and the two languages are indeed related - most swedes really do prefer speaking english when visiting Denmark. The vast majority of people in Sweden actually find it extremely diffucult to understand spoken danish. We swedes have much easier to communicate with a dane in english.
In the movie her accent is great but here it is obviously Swedish, there is no script here so it comes out in the way she chooses her words as well. My guess is that they had someone to correct/coach her during the filming.
get a new interviewer. is he even paying attention to anything he's saying or what she's saying or where this conversation is going? he's all over the place and his questions are useless. sorry.
Why she speaks with a different accent in all of her interviews? Sometimes you hear her speaking with an English accent and now in this interview she has an American accent... What's the deal here, can anybody explain it to me?.
I think she started off (from ± 2012-2014) with an American accent during interviews because she's not a native speaker and for Europeans, American-English is the easiest dialect to speak, as the pronunciation is almost the same as -in my case- Dutch. Not to draw very quick conclusions here, but since Swedish and Dutch are veeeeeery similar, vocab- and grammar-wise compared to other languages, I think it only makes sense that she spoke American English in that period, because she was still learning and an easier dialect to switch to. She's done way more films now, so she's made her own accent.
I just finish watching a royal affair and id say m a fan now!!'.. I can't help but think she kind off look like jennifer lawrence just tiny bits and her voice too. But she is pretty and yea like her voice!
Worst interviewer ever! Cliche, bass, uninteresting questions that left Alicia quite puzzled, rightfully so. Nevertheless, she politely and graciously answered each of them, trying hard not to laugh at the silliness of them sometimes or not to leave the interview on the spot. she s far too professional and courteous to do that.. Her talent and intelligence shined through anyway. she s so unique.
cinema é linguagem, o autor -diretor usa os recursos cinematográficos visuais e sonoros, etc, para transmitir emoções e pensamentos ,isto não é manipulação mas expressão e criação artística.
Damn she is SWEDISH!!! As soon as I saw her in Anna Karenina I was like "She looks like my Norwegian classmate". She definitely looked much more Nordic than Slavic. I can't put my finger on what feature exactly it was, but she definitely looks like a Swede. So her character didn't quite fit in for me.
This interviewer has to be one of the WORST I've ever listened to. And calling this a "conversational" approach is a poor excuse for being unable to run an interview which doesn't grate on everyone's nerves. Just awful!
zantigar I have to say, I am truly fascinated by the nasty comments associated with this particular interview. Not keeping me up nights, but truly fascinating.
Jesus why are people behaving like this? Has some troll squad descended on this particular video? Ive not seen it all but so far its your average sort of charming DP/30 interview.
+RagdollRalph There are certain interviews, often with people from other countries, that seem to draw a lot of anger at me. I think part of it is that the viewers don't have familiarity with what I do and how I do it. Part of it is that I am clearly a buffoon. (ha)
+DP/30: The Oral History Of Hollywood I have to say I'm very happy it doesn't seem to be getting to you, because I wouldn't want it any other way, this is a rare treat of a channel :)
Still, no need to be so condescending and awkward. The awkwardness was so profound that it even made my whole body stiffen, so bizarre. The poor girl must've had a headache before the end of the interview, but how much patience she had to handle it so graciously! What a truly regal character with profound humility.
It's rare that I become so infatuated with a specific actor/actress that I seek out as many movies I can find them in to enjoy their work. Alicia Vikander is extremely talented and immensely gorgeous. Look forward to seeing more from her.
I hope her career blows up into a pile up the ceiling of good scripts offers. So impressed by her acting.
Mozts1 your wish came true now she is lara croft

Yay for being Swedish
shes so passionate about her craft, its such a beautiful thing
I'm in love with her voice, looks, acting, ... Everything about her seems so divine to me.
Just to help people who are confused about her accent. During Anna Karenina she had a dialect coach to help her get the British accent and eventually kept the British accent to get more film roles and enter Hollywood
She seems really nice. Not stuck up like other hollywood celebrities
She is most likely getting an Oscar nomination this year, and hopefully receiving the award. Absolutely deserved. She is great.
But Alicia, you say 'you know' way too much :)
+Cynical Man I did a search in the comments for 'you know' because I didn't believe I was the only one noticing her saying it too much ;)
I came here after seeing Anna Karenina, Ex_Machina, A Royal Affair, then recently Hotell and Pure. Thanks for another great interview!
Shes seriously have a unique voice, would be wonderful to have a book read by her
What a sweetheart!! And such a soothing voice..
23:46 I miss such purity of her from 10 years back. Her smile was so sweet
she is really pretty
What a divine beauty Alicia vikander is. I've fallen in love with this lady.
Her performance in Pure is flawless!
Beautiful woman and very gifted.
She is such an inspiration.
It's insane how perfect her English spoken word is.
Alicia is breathtaking.
She is so fucking gorgeous :3
She is just natural and lovely , i hope Alicia will get more movie places that shes really like :)
Shes doing her American accent!! Sounds so different
I like Alicia Vikander she is a good actress l have seen her in many movies like"Jason Bourne "
Love this lady, what a voice as well. She's amazing in Ex_Machina as the sexy A.I.
She's so freaking adorable.
Didn't you have another interview of her here? I believe she had her British accent on it as well. Are you removing some of your videos by any chance? Thanks! :)
oh owow what beauty
+Ostrich Stark nah. she's just ok. you need to go out more, see the world :) Yes, she's pretty but nothing exceptional.
Jerry Incandenza thank goodness you posted to correct me on who i consider beautiful.
Ostrich Stark Or to point out that you have no taste. lol

The interviewer was great. Did you watch the entire interview? She seemed comfortable enough through the interview.
Swedish actress Alicia Vikander uses an American accent during the interviews. She sounds like American. But in the next one, she is now using a British accent. Rather than American English or British English. It is so good to see Alicia on her first interview since 2012.
Ahh, I've seen other interviews with her, and she seems to switch accents to the one the interviewer is having...that is so great.
I very like this actress because very talent her voice, play piano, dancing, balet, and sports, and drawing.

Absolutely, it happens to me all the time (my mother tongue is Spanish) and I usually shift from neutral Canadian to posh Australian.
she's super cute ❤

I'm guessing it's because she doesn't have her "own" accent. She has learned both English and American accents for different roles.
Nazareth Zeuqsàlev she is not a native speaker
+Nazareth Zeuqsàlev She's not a native English speaker. Her accent just depends on where she's situated and working. That's how it usually is.

I guess because I’m the children of immigrants I can immediately tell her accent. She DOES NOT sound American.
she sounds kinda american here
I hope she just got the role of Anastasia Steele instead of Dakota... Alicia would have done so much better I bet..
