Something I find interesting about this OST is I feel like instead of it focusing on the map theme, it focuses on how the player feels. The first part of the OST gives vibes of “Where am I and how did I get here” But once you go through that portal to the floating world, it’s like the player is genuinely astonished by their eyes, wondering how this is even possible. All I can say is I genuinely love this OST, it feels unique and I really love the vibes it gives! Great job on this!
No one asked for this but this is my personal opinion on Sugary Springs. (WARNING: Please don't take this seriously this is just my opinion :D): There will be 3 factors to decide the overall rating for Sugary Springs, the Map🗺, OST🎼, and the Star Rating accuracy⭐. Map: 8.8/10 Summary: Good parts of the Map: Honestly, everything is just amazing, from the colour scheme, to somewhat standing out to the other hard maps you could say? From my experience in FE2, the Hard difficulty is most disliked, but with Sugary Springs coming out, it shows that people can make really good Hard maps that are fun, and includes a lot of the mechanics (wall jumps, jump pads, zip lines,) unlike other maps. Sugary Springs just might be the beginning of a Hard difficulty comeback. The theme is really authentic and original, I don't know a person who doesn't like the map. Bad parts of the Map: Everything is really good! One thing about the map that I'm not really keen for is the lighting, and no challenging part of the map linking with the OST, sure it is at Hard difficulty, but to make it stand out more, a tower part would be really good at the most suspense, like a fondue as the tower possibly? If there's a sequel to this, it should definitely be a Crazy difficulty map or Crazy+ difficulty map, and include the idea of a fondue as the tower part. Other than that, I don't have much to say. OST: 9/10 Summary: Here are the timestamps for the OST: Intro: 0:00 - 0:24 (8.2/10): a bit repetitive, slowly brings suspense, begins the OST like a growing ball of energy Pre-Chorus: 0:25 - 0:35 (7.75/10): repetitive, brings more suspense, overlooked in the OST, almost no added instruments. Chorus #1: 0:36 - 0:45 (9/10): trumpet adds a lot of setting, better suspense, shows a lot of energy. Short Bridge: 0:46 - 0:47 (9.2/10): N/A Chorus #1 (Higher Pitch): 0:48 - 0:59 (9.2/10): a bit repetitive, higher pitch (shows energy), great suspense. Bridge: 1:00 - 1:11 (9.5/10): electric guitar fits amazing in this area, probably the best part of the OST. Chorus #2: 1:12 - 1:35 (8.75/10): loses a bit of suspense at the wrong time, not much energy added, trumpet should be main note and electric guitar should be the harmonic note. Outro #1: 1:36 - 1:47 (9.25/10): perfect pitch, the angelic voices should've been added throughout of whole OST (starting from Chorus #1), where the suspense should've been going lower. Bridge: 1:48 - 2:00: (9.5/10): final push of energy, great touch to the Outro, the 1/8 second long beats shouldn't be added there. Outro #2: 2:00 - 2:15 (9/10): perfect pitch, 1/16 second beats were a great touch, shows the energy has been lost. Overall, the OST really matches the energy of the map, which is why this OST deserves a high rating. Star Rating Accuracy: 8.25/10 3.7 is a bit high for such a map with little to no long jumps and slow pacing, personally, 3.4-3.5 is more suitable for this map, considering how fun it looks, which calms your heartbeat by a bit. Unlike, say, maps like Graveyard Cliffside, with the haunting music, oddly placed jumps, and inclination. My overall rating for Sugary Springs, is a: 8.68/10! Thanks for reading along, have a great day/night.
