Kabale's Grace Villa Girls Sanctuary gears up for 10th-anniversary celebrations.

Grace Villa Girls Sanctuary in Kabale District gears up for the 10 years anniversary celebrations slated for 7th to the 11th of July 2023 where lots of activities are expected to happen including the ground breaking ceremony of a 3 billion resource Centre.
The Grace Villa Gin 2013 and currently is a home of 215 vulnerable girls sheltering 30 of these at their house along Jackson Road in Makanga.
During a press conference today at the Grace Villa in Makanga that aimed at the celebrations of the 10 years anniversary, Doreen Musimenta a pioneer Grace Villa girl narrated her story on how she came to join Grace Villa. Musimenta says that losing both parents at a young age complicated life for her because she stayed with her other two brothers.
Musimenta continues to say that life has positively transformed ever since she joined Grace Villa in 2013 saying that she completed her studies and Kyambogo University and is currently a teacher at Kings College Buddo.
Desire Kirabo another Grace Villa Girl says that the sanctuary took her up when she had lost hopes of studying her parent amidst being bright. She further narrates her current education journey aboard with the support of the grace villa.
Hope Orishaba a guardian to one of the girls at Grace Villa says that after her sister passing on, she took the responsibility of taking care of her children where she failed along the way thus Grace Villa taking on the girl.
According to the founder and Executive Director for Grace Villa Girls Sanctuary, Ruth Kendengye Ndyabahika most of the girls brought to the sanctuary are always abdoned by the parent, orphans, vulnerable and some run away from home because of the condition especially poverty and domestic violence. She says that these are normally presented by the police and the probation office of Kabale.
Kendegye further says that they stand at a pillar of self-sustainability by economically empowering the girls through different activities. Kendengye says that the 10 years celebrations are for the love and miracles adding that Grace Villa has been a home of over 400 girls ever since its inception.
She adds highlighting the program for the celebrations will be for 5 days covering activities of prayer walk, marathon, football tournament, thanksgiving service, medical camp among many others.
The Grace Villa Girls is an orphanage hosting 215 vulnerable girls in Kabale District, their Grace Villa AT 10 Golf Tournament in April launched the activities towards the 10 years anniversary where the funds collected will be aiming at funds towards building a library and resource center.
