Love the deeper dive content. This is what is missing on UA-cam. Most other stuff out there is just a name of a company and "it's going to blow up in the next 2-3 years". This is a quality story. This channel never ceases to impress me with the variety of content.
I work at BMO and that proposed merger with BMO and RBC was a pivotal point in my career as it changed our department and I had to make a decision or take a severance package. I am still with BMO as I found a new position back in 1999 and have been with BMO for 36 years. Great video as always
Thanks for sharing your story, Brian. A real, live, living example of those times. I remember the intrigue and excitement at the time, but I'm glad the mergers didn't go through.. I'm sure we're stronger and safer as a result. Thanks for watching. - Marc
Marc: I commented earlier about a review of CNR and CP. I added to my position in anticipation of that the Russia/Ukraine war will increase the shipment by rail of oil and grains (wheat) in North America. Pipelines are full and rail tanker capacity is available - wheat farmers can increase production by 6-7%! A deep dive using your approach would be interesting. Berkshire-Hathaway’s BNSF is another holding I may add to.
I'm 10 months late to the party , but I have to agree with all the other top comments. Deep dives like this are phenomenal. Hard to get this kind of info from other blogs/vids they are all shallow and quantitative. Please make more for all the canadian juggernaughts. :D

Great video Marc. Would love to see more deep dives in companies. How about Brookfield Asset Management (BAM)? One of Canada's biggest companies that most Canadians have never hear of and nearly 18% average annual return over the last 10 years.
Hi Ken. Thanks for your BAM vote... I'm sure I will do a deeper dive at some point.... but that will be a long video!!! It's a pretty complicated structure.. but I look forward to tackling it at some point. - Marc

It's a great video idea Marc, like if we could know the long term prospects of some of these Canadian companies, like to see if they are a good long term buy or not.
Thanks, Jay. I'd say that for most people the Canadian banks would be considered to have good long-term prospects, but of course they must fit in to your investor profile. Thanks for watching. - Marc
