  • Here is a modular version of the haunting P. Glass ending theme from Koyaanisqatsi (1982). I'll never forget that movie.
Just 2 lonesome oscillators animated by sine waves LFO's. I hope you'll like it.

It makes me think of Voyager One, cruising through the cosmos like a message in a bottle adrift in an indifferent sea, never to be found and read, or heard. Singing a desperate existential song into the vacuum and blackness of space. It is a beautiful, sad and lonely song with a flicker of hope. And one which we feel privileged to hear, if but for a moment.

Koyaanisqatsi ends with the explosion of a space rocket (Atlas-Centaur). That's when we hear this music. Watching it I always got a feeling of despair, that we are made for the stars. (@Le Dernier Absent great cover!)

Sounds like a single satellite drifting through outer space, signaling alien civilizations with the music of Philip Glass to the cosmos. Nice work!

Amazing! It’s kind of like leaving home for the first time, and home being our planet. Uncertain, and all unfolding. Like a blank star encrusted canvas.

Great visual ! Just add a robot doll silhouetted by lamp listening to this lonely lullaby. Perhaps this analogue tech is its mother?
Or perhaps the sound track alone narrates closing scenes from the 72 sci fi film ‘silent running’

Thank you for this very nice comment. I am touched by it and that's much appreciated. of course you can use my tracks. Just be aware that in case of covers, I only made the electronic arangement. and I think that in those cases the name of the original composer should really be mentionned (ie P Glass in this case). Also it would be great that in case you use my videos tracks , my 'name' and contact is mentionned (for example 'arrangement by 'Le Dernier Absent (youtube Channel)' ); I wish you good luck for your great projects :)

@@LeDernierAbsent Yes, it was a quote by the Greek poet Horace, I believe around 20 BC. The basic meaning is we are all destined to end up shadows and dust (dead). I became interested when it was quoted in the movie Gladiator.
