A new challenge arrives! Pacifist build. No direct attacking/poisoning items. Not your fault if enemies hurt themselves to death though. (Spikes, reflect) Not sure if the cat counterattack counts.
I found that the Count with the perk that deals damage for each item dropped in the machine is pretty easy to stay alive and heal, especially as you get more and more items. Even easier with the standard magnet + hand of midas + golden dagger combo
Woo! Influencing popular culture one youtube mention at a time :D Look forward to seeing what you came up with. Wow, impressive build - sorry it was such a time sink though! :D
I love how Dex is confused about weird things happening, someone could assume that with the hours he spent on the game, he'd know by now that the game is as buggy as it is fun - and it's *very* fun
Yeah says 10 and deals 20 then healed for 6 after. Just to take 14 instead of 15 damage. But then the game is still Realy new and developed my a small team so can’t expect anything special when they are going better then 99% if all triple A companies that spend millions on a game for it to not even be playable
If the 10 20 was the big sword, it doubles it's damage. If you claw a big sword with another item it would be 10, but if the big sword or the other item fall into the drop-off area by being lose, then it's considered going in for turn 1 (as far as I figured). Only once the item hits the line where it rolls them to the char it seems to count items remaining. I think with healing 6 you meant when the spring did 5 damage to me and yea I have 0 clue what happened there, as in I can't come up with a theory even. Either the event was bugged and did both healing and damage at the same time, or it was considered as me dealing damage to myself, but with a weird calculation so I fully healed the damage, then +1 for the vampire fangs (if I had them). I think I took damage again from such an event room later on, don't remember right now what happened there
I slowed it down he took 20 per bomb so 40 in total(he thought 20 in total which according to the description it should be. Says deals 10 if not removed ). But healed for 6 due to his attack. But then took 15 damage and somehow went from 106 to 92 meaning he took 14 damage. So overall there where a few weird interactions during that short clip
LOL at 18:35 you still got a doubled syringe even though you dropped in 2 items! The way this game works surprises me sometimes... Now if they could just teach it basic addition.
@Dex they just opened the beta testing and the new stuff is mindblowing, i dont what to spoil anything but i cant wait for you to break the new mechanics.
You should make a brass knuckle build because it basically just blocks their attacks so when the sword and shield scales, it doesn’t matter and the knuckles also do damage
Here is a 'new' build for you I discovered yesterday: A lot of Block: Gountlet, Armour, Big Shields. Potions that convert Block into Strength. Daggers.
I think you could it with only the credit card, just need to triple it and multiple claws for the reward rooms and it can be really powerful as it doesn’t reset damage if I recall correctly
Yea, I "banned" credit card and gold dagger. The permanent damage increase would make it way too easy and I used them in the past already, so I didn't want to repeat
Fluff only counts as a dropped item, if it deals damage, like the "burned" fluff or "poisoned" fluff, maybe also, if they give gold to you, so they don't get doubled in their "default" state.
hey dex I'm SURE you've learned this in the past two weeks, but 10-reflect-moth didnt gain any block because they gain block equal to twice their reflect stacks. if you wipe all the reflect with burning fluff or something, they gain no block that turn. :)
I have an idea for a challenge run. Can you win this game with no perk. Or can you win this game with only staring item with no upgrade. I think that will be interesting
What if you wanted to have a magnet on a chain without magnets inside, have only small knives and let them deal a lot of damage due to their amount when falling into the chamber... stack junk jet + fangs + only knifes... sounds interesting
@@paniiziimawould be interesting to see but I doubt it would be possible as poison is progressive so without healing or block. He would take too much damage. But also with the buffs that cause ridiculously high poison stack it may be doable with some good rng
@@paniiziima latter game it requires one shotting the enemies and poison is hard to stack that hight on the first go. So progressive as in the same way the syringe is you need multiple goes to build up the damage
@@ex_cha0s652 ahh i see, maybe it would be possible with lot of the attacks inflict poison perks and that thing that increases ur health with money so you can tank a little?
I dont have a pc so I cant play and test this, what happens if you had only the item that causes water to turn into poison along with your perks you have the one that fills the tank partially with water?
There is, but it only gives 20% water, which is not enough once you get more Fluff. It will just lay on other layers of poison fluff, so the bottle is needed. All good

This is debatable whether it should be like that, given it's still damage -the Jet perk that deals 1 damage per item dropped into the item pool, but it's unaffected by Poison and Strength. Tbh this one is the most reasonable one, because Spikes are also unaffected by these 2 things, yet they heal you, which does make sense -Damage isn't always accurate. I've had many cases where my first hit did 1 damage less than it should, e.g. in the Spike video I had 15 spikes, the enemy 30 HP and did a triple attack. After 2 attacks he should've died and prevented the damage from the 3rd attack, but the enemy took 14 on the first attack. This also often happens with the Cat pet. I'm pretty sure he's already done a spike build although in the title of the video he called it thorns.
I think that won't work. IIRC, there are some enemies that don't attack directly.
@@BrokenCurtain Yeah, I think that Mushroom thing alternates between filling the machine with poison balls and healing itself.

No but for some reason if the fluff lands after the item the item doesn’t get the buff of being on its own
You should try a bomb run :)
It would be nice if there was a rare buff that keeps syringes damage build even if at the cost of damage per use

Shame the perk to deal additional attack when solo isnt stackable. Imagine like 50 attacks with a single syringe

Nice 👍
The reason you get 2 uses instead of 3 isn't because of the fluff, the ability just doesnt work a 2nd time
