    Not really a relevant comparison. Huge price difference and huge performance difference. Big difference when you try and insure the bike also.

    To be honest in my opinion, we have a new Versys 1000 and after many many years of riding high performance sports bikes, it's refreshing to get on a bike that is super comfortable both solo and two up and creamy smooth from a manufacturer that doesn’t need to keep banging on about BHP numbers to get sales. Credit to them even after all test riders slag its performance off when tested again the likes of BMW, which personally i wouldn't trust their reliability neither in the two or four wheel format

      Interesting, I always wanted Ninja but ended up with XR cuz of the cars like E46 and now E60. I get all the assembly plans, parts online and diagnostic software for every electronic module without trouble or paying anyone. I guess your paying others to do the job on your stuff.
      For me it's the BMW only now😅

      fully agree. Plus, the BMW makes the most ugly motorcycles on this planet. I dont know how they do it, but I hate every single one of their bikes. On the other hand, recently I met the Versys 1000 life, it had a good exhaust, sounded absolutely powerfull. Demanding respect, by the looks and by the sound.

    Really like your video's! Any change of testing the Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GX any time soon? Or even beter, a one on one against the BMW S 1000 XR?

    The Versys is on my short list for my fourth MC, as I am looking for something to ride for many many miles in comfort. It also must be able to handle the various road conditions of northern Canada and Alaska. Just haven't decided if I want to give up on a road couch yet.

    The XR looks like it had an head on collision way to short at the front.
    The Versys looks like a highrisen ZX10R. Way more stylish in my opinion.

      I agree that perhaps one thing that may be weird is how short the XR may look.

    Excelent comparation, I'm from Brazil and I have a Versys 1000 today but I'm think to replace to S1000xr I just have doubts regarding comparation in long distance trips (more than 1000mi, easy in Brazil) in repect to the confort of pilot and pillion betwen each ones. What is your opinion regarding long distances?

    In my contry, you have to pay $8000 US more, for the S1000XR, the question is whether, for touring, you need such an aggressive engine or such sportiness?

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  7 місяців тому +1

      $8000 USD sounds particularly appealing. Is it for a new motorcycle?

    I have a 2015 Versys and find it has plenty of power-no need to tune it to Ninja 1000 level. Low end power is excellent, as good as the oil cooled boxer on my GSA. A bargain in the second hand market too.

    It's enough for me if it pulls well up to 160km/h. And bottom torque is also important to me. So..

    should be a comparison between the versys and BMW 1250rs, The BMW 1000xr is a sport bike for solo tall riders.. I own a versys 1000 SE GT 2019 version. Great for two up and loaded full luggage, just a mile muncher is comfort for rider and pillion. There are rumors of Kawasaki maybe working on a H2 version of the versys for a future model. Brakes when adjusted to the rider I find the front is better and less pressure needed to work,the rear I use to just stabalise the versys on some bends but help on braking.
    If the versys was lighter but with a drive train would be interesting.

    On youtube you cant use these videos for anything. We do not know who pays the guy to say what, but it feels a little like BMW was the once paying this time. But try them yourself to see what is best for you and also which give much for the money spend.

  • @wanderlpnw
    @wanderlpnw 7 місяців тому +1

    Wow, versys SE is like $3k cheaper than a similar XR here. Plus, they go for much less than that. It's a no brainer if they are the same price in your country.

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  7 місяців тому +1

      Right, the SE is ridiculously priced and the only way they'd be selling these here would be with enormous discounts. However, I don't think I've ever seen any on the streets and people usually prefer to put that kind of money on a BMW, Triumph or Ducati. And I'm not all that much surprised.

    No TPMS on the Kawasaki? So what? I check my tires and air pressure before every ride. And once the TPMS sensors go south, you're probably looking at an expensive visit to the dealership. Otherwise, I like V-Told's reviews.

    • @VToldsMotoShow
      @VToldsMotoShow  27 днів тому

      Well, exactly - then it’s only safe if you check before every single ride. I’ve had a friend who crashed due to too low pressure while riding on wet. Crashed twice during the same ride… I’ve been having TPMS in my two cars for the last 9 years and so far so good with no malfunctions. I really would recommend it. There are aftermarket ones too.

    Ho man, I think that you’re absolutely right when you say that people only would choose the Kawasaki if they didn’t know better, and when you’re talking about the lean capacity of both bikes, there is also a so big difference . The Kawasaki Versys 1000 is a good bike but the S1000 XR is so much more fun to ride. With the BMW we can easily do a track day. But I never saw someone with a versys 1000 at the tracks 😂

    I owned versys 1000 2023, just trade in my vstrom 650.
    Disadvantage for me as below :
    Main lamp is too weak, comparible to a small bike. Vstrom 650 have much2 better lamp.
    Gear change not smooth at low rpm, hard to do smooth fast shift at low rpm, my experience with vstrom 650 is much better.
    Engine heat will fried your leg 😂
    Small sidemirror, i like vstrom 650 big sidemirror.
    Hard to manuver during heavy traffic. Vstrom much better maybe because of its 19inch front wheel.
    But v1k standard is the cheapest 1000cc touring bike. Suitable for my current income. 😅
