As a teen a cockatiel changed my life. In my 40's now with a teen of my own and it's definitely time for another one. I can't wait. They are so sweet, gentle and loving. So good to see the enrichment you provide. What a lucky bird and owner alike :)
The only reason people think this is weird is because so many people still think birds are just decoration pets and should stay in a tiny cage all the time. I love channels like yours that spread proper info on the care of misunderstood animals (aka any animal that isn't a cat or dog lol)
Yes , it was very traumatic. You don't want anyone else to go through that. Its still painful. These birds only weigh 3 ounces. Their meant to be indoor birds. Their our sweet companions and their delicate. Please be careful
@@laurencastillo9741 Yeah when free flying small birds, it's usually safest to fly them in flocks father than alone, but that takes a ton of training for each bird. They aren't really "meant" to be indoors though. Parrots aren't domesticated, they've just adapted to living with people. VERY big difference. Anyway my point was supposed to be that they should be completely safe on the harness, and that a ton of flight training is supposed to go into the process before someone takes their bird outside for the first time. I'm very sorry for your loss, by the way. I lost a few baby budgies a couple of years ago (their mother sat on them for too long and they suffocated while I was away) and I can't imagine having lost a bird to an attack :(
I have a baby cockatiel who just needs to do a bit of growing before he can come home. I want to have the strongest relationship possible with my bird - how can I bond with him and foster love?
Tips:handfeed him and cuddle with him and take him outside in a travel Cage or in a harness but your bird is a little youn so i recommend a travel Cage basicly Just give your bird a healthy and happy live! And Also take him out evreyday for atleast an good our these were my tips! If you have any queetions feel free to ask
Obviously lots of attention, but also fun games and praise. One of the best ways ive bonded with my birds is through training, they love a challenge and being able to figure stuff out. One of my birds is even a talker! I work with his speech daily and now he can tell me when he is thirsty, hungry, tired, wants attention or wants to play.
I totally know what you mean about Millet. Cockatiels love Millet! I only try to feed as a treat or reward. My male Cockatiel Ollie loves Romaine Lettuce to he will eat that like it's going out of style!! I live in Florida so the weather is warm and beautiful all year round. So I am eager to try out the Harness for my Cockatiel.
my cockatiel of 15 years died last december and i miss her so much. i want a new one so badly but it’s so hard to find them around where i live. no one’s breeding anymore :(
I honestly think any videos of him would be great. You can just give us updated on how's he's doing, what he's been up to, if he's learned anything new, or just a video of cute random things his does. Even if it's just a 1-2 minute video, I'd definitely watch them
2:23 He's not curios. He is watching out for hawks and other predators. Be careful, when you see a hawk. Never force your bird to fly, he will notice a hawk and other predator birds much earlier than you. So let him decide, when to fly.
your bird has a beautiful pattern of colouring, i like how his little mohawk is a darker bright yellow. my mom's bird had babies and all are so different in their colouring. The baby of them all is female and has one yellow feather that looks like a streak. Her name is Baby Cho. I like to play with the babies (Arrow, Dr.Wells, & Baby Cho)using shallow cardboard box tops or bowls with water along with a few seeds, chewing wood,or little jiggle bells or toys and see what they do. its fun to watch and set up different scenarios. my mom loves it and it is good therapy for her. thank you for your videos you are so sweet
I LOVE SODAS BEANIE SO MUCH SHE LOOKS SO CUUTE (didnt mean to make myself look creepy by yelling at a girl that shes cute...I just love the beanie and her vids!)
I have a budgie but hes a lil brat. Hes tame and all the onley thing is tho, he dosent like being pet. It's a little frusterateing but he knows how to give kisses :> ur bird is so feickin cute
I don't mean any hate but I don't think having your cockatiel out like that is a very good idea. stop it with your bird im going to die of cuteness
If you don't wanna die then don't watch.

One important tip:when your bird bites you NEVER shake your hand to make them lose balance nor hit them. Its better if you ignore it
Me:YUKI YOU ARE UNDER ARREST
Yuki: Wha- why??
ME: FOR BEING TOO FLIPPING CUTE
Ayyy~! More cute birbs with an awesome UA-camr!!
The cuteness is almost too much!! This is a really chill, relaxing video full of cuteness. I love it.
It would be interesting to see demonstrations of what you do when you take him out. e.g. cleaning up and protecting him from dogs etc.
The best thing about going to the park with a bird is that you don't have clean up after them.
AAAA I LOVE HIS LIL RED CHEEKS he's soooo cuteeeee
I’m pretty sure those are acc ears lol but ye they are cute
Yes I have a Cockatiel and his ,,Cheeks,, are his ears 😂🥰
AAHHHH, HES SUCH AN ADORBABLE BIRB CHILD
Every time he flew I had a mini panic attack.
I want to take my cockatiel out for a walk, But i'm scared a karen or a cop will attack me for having a bird at a dog park.

Maybe you could try clicker training? Would be interesting and also you can click and treat when putting on his harness to make a positive association
Don't worry I'm getting weird looks for getting cat for a walk 😂
Odd
That's why humans suck more than animals 😂

Hi Soda! I was a fan back when you did my little pony. I still watch your videos, keep up the great work.
The fact you think your cockiel is a macaw is funny bc dogs mostly just come when they are bigger birds
Such a beautiful bird
You should do a harness training video!

I bought a harness one month ago and I'm really scared to take my cockatiel out :(
The cutest thing ever Yuki why are you so cute
