Grievous and Dooku were terrible villains in TCW, Ventress is a much better character in terms of her show portrayal. Filoni did Grievous and Dooku really dirty, I would go so far as to say that there wasn't a single good villain until maul, maybe the Son at a stretch, but Maul was pretty much the only villain who you can compare to Rebels' menagerie of villains.
