I believe the first two minutes of film were of them getting ready to leave the hotel for the Ed Sullivan Theater for their first appearance on 2/9/64.
And notice how cool, calm and collected they were!! But would John, Paul, George and Ringo have been that way had they known they were about to inalterably change the Free World, as well as the millions and millions of people under the communist thumb?
This film was obviously taken during the giddiness of the first U.S. trip, in the Winter of 1964. I suggest that the train, they’re aboard, is taking them from New York, and the Ed Sullivan show triumphs, to their first North American concert, in Washington D.C..
This is Just fascinating to me even though it’s all incidental with nothing of importance happening..I find the early days much more interesting than the latter days like in Disney’s Get Back(which was also great). Just amazing knowing that they’re about to become one of the most influential people of the 20th century and beyond
Looks like footage from The Beatles First U.S. Visit. They’re amazed that American radio is playing almost nothing but them…in fact I’m positive it’s from that. This is where they got the idea for AHDN…
@@vintage_gal64 Okay, it’s what I _thought_ it was. Maybe I’d better not type the name of it (UA-cam being what it is), but if people search *Maysles Beatles 1964 wiki* they’ll find it. It’s from a 16mm documentary (shot by documentarians Al & David Maysles) about the Beatles' first visit to the US in February 1964, and it documents their travels to NYC, Washington, D.C., & Miami Beach. Although I own the 1990 version (later released on DVD), some of THIS footage doesn’t look familiar to me. Either that’s because it comes from the original 1964 version-which includes 20 minutes of footage that was cut out of the 1990 version-or because it’s been 12 years since I last watched it and I just don’t remember, lol! The 1990 version includes 22 minutes of musical performance by The Beatles from the _Ed Sullivan Show_ that the 1964 version didn’t have. Oh, and this footage was shot about 3 weeks before shooting began for _A Hard Day’s Night._
It must have had some sort of lag which amused them. I think it spoke of a future when they found electronic tricks and shared them with the world. Also it is nice to see Lennon in a leadership role, and not in an F'it place.
They used to take out their frustration on Mal. They tried to beat up Mal when they met him but he took the Beatles on so he got the job. I think that' was after they played in London and realized they needed a body guard.
It's cute and al, but not a big fan of them telling the little girl they would return someday when they had absolutely no intention of doing that. It's a small lie, but it wasn't necessary.
How great to have a hit record that is so huge you can turn on the radio randomly and hear it playing.
“Uncle Paul will you give me your autograph?”
That was really sweet!
It would never have happened with Billy.
A treasure. Every second could have been a cut from Hard Day's Night....just being themselves
The unique talent that was The Beatles, showing their distinctly human side. Great stuff - thanks for uploading.
0:40 Ringo's lil' dance ❤️
I really love Ringo ❤❤❤
So the passengers in the train are very lucky they met The Beatles first hamd. Teen ages girls in those times fight it off just to go near them ❤
They are very kind and accomodating most esp. Ringo ❤
@@makinisify Ringo 4ever 💞
It's a double. The real Richard never liked to dance. The nose is different from the Ed Sullivan show-Ringo that appeared in Feb 1964.
At 0:36 Ringo taking a selfie, then gets his freak on.
When John let the little girl kiss him on the cheek, I almost welled up.
it's almost like John Lennon had some kind of ADHD, so excitable about hearing his own voice! Nice film clip, thanks for the upload.
And Paul literally screeching into his own ears 😂 Lennon McCartney everyone!

...and later, one the railroad to Washington DC
Troopers. What a wonderful moment
Can you even imagine how nervous they would have been
@@johndoe2883 Didn't appear to be. They were "old" pros by this time.

That little girl was so cute!
The Beatles are cuter
Agree with other comments - brilliant
Brilliant thanks for posting🙏🏾
Really sad how years of smoking finally caught up with George.
A bad man harmed him in the chest with a knife. That's what happened first. Otherwise. That may never had happened. Research is important
JulieKilburn
@@PMQBthe man didn't kill him tho, it really was the effect of smoking
@@YorBuryit was probably a combination of both.
@@PMQBwhat? He was stabbed in the chest?
loved this thanks for sharing this
Their big saviour was they were very grounded Liverpool guys
Might have driven most insane

At 5:06 it sounds like somebody definitely farted... lol
nOBODY REALLY nOSE
The magical mystery tour
Whoever cut George’s bangs Should go to jail
It’s a Scouse hair cut I have one we all have it’s not bangs it’s called a ket wig
Lol
Who was that lucky little girl? She was adorable! Thanks for posting!
Ringo dancing!!❤❤❤
Clever scouse scruffs make good.
Reporter: "You can tell who's the boss there." Yup
1:08 How do you do that? That’s so cool.
Goodness they were so young. And that train must have reeked of tobacco. Was George even 20 at this point?
Would've been almost 21
Too much smoking😢
Somebody farted at 5:06 😂😂
That’s normal. My parents would have conversations with each other or even argue and make that loud body noise and it would be ignored
Group of guys - normal
I didn't think anyone farted in 1964 I thought that was more of a modern phenomena
Giants
The bit from the train looks familiar. Is this footage that was filmed by the Maysles brothers in '64?
I'm honestly not sure. I know that this was filmed on the set of A Hard Day's Night but I am not sure who filmed it.

I'm not really sure. Maybe a voice recorder or something? I can't really tell

No, he’s one of the two Maysles brothers who were hired to document their first visit on film.
