Oh my, I had forgoten about 17! I actually need to watch that video again and remember how it became a cool thing. I kind of paused watching brewing videos when I began to study one more major career un college. Right now its the last semester and things are looking clear ahead, plus working in a hospital/school/pandemic/family... everything went crazy! big time. And my wife had me enrolled in a brewing begginers class as a wedding aniversary gift (due to May 2020) as a surprise and the pandemic hit. Its still available but the brew shop has not oppened doors as of yet, so I hope maybe later on this year I can tale that course and start the homebrew phase in my life as passionate as you did in your first videos and continue to do so for the rest of my life. Everyone's probably got a lot to talk abbout so I'll just stop here and wish everybody for the best. 17!

I was living in the Quad Cities when I first came across your videos about 8 or 9 years ago. You were instrumental in my homebrewing hobby and I remember watching your videos with such excitement! I really do miss that feeling inside when I heard your intro music. I know that seems a bit strange, but I loved it! I made my first all-grain brew following your instructions and it turned out amazing! I followed so many homebrewers and most of them are no longer active. Damn!! Although I have drifted away from the hobby as well simply due to life, so I understand where you're coming from. I'm surprised your homebrew store didn't do well. In the UK here due to the pubs being shut homebrew purchases online went mad as a lot more people took up homebrewing and last year it was hard at times to find wine kits in stock on the online homebrew suppliers.

Welcome back, Joe! Great to see you again. Currently drinking a Tudor Ale based on the recipe you shared a while back. Been doing a lot of research on Gruit Ales and brewing without hops. Good stuff. Experimenting with wormwood as a bittering agent. I have a hopless Pumpkin Ale in the fermenter right now that should be ready for Thanksgiving. You've been nothing but nice, smiling and positive in every single video I've seen. Haters must come from a very lonely hell. They can stay there and keep their traps shut! Lots of positive energy to you man! I haven't been brewing a couple of years due to stress, depression, anxiety (a lovely cocktail with a bitter taste). I've hoped to get going again, but it's hard. I use my IPA'S in my soap. Lucious Beersoap. So thanks for that video. See, you positively impacted a person's life. Anyway, to hell with the haters. Just saw your other video that just dropped as well. I'm not sure how I missed this two weeks ago but welcome back man! I started watching your videos a few months before your last one. I had already been brewing for about 5 years at that point but was really starting to ramp up on brewing since we had just bought our first house and I finally had more space to be able to brew more. I found your videos really helpful when I was starting out with all grain back then. Recently been brewing some beers to have on tap for the holidays. Just tapped a spruce tip IPA and a juniper rye bock (this has been lagering for about 3 months). Planning on brewing a Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold clone probably Friday as a Christmas present for my neighbors. Glad you're back! Cheers from Florida!
@@terpsichoreankid Thanks! They turned out pretty well. I think a bit more spruce than I was expecting but still a good and pretty dank IPA. I used these spruce infused Centennial hops from Northwest Hop Farms in BC, Canada (they also have hemp infused Cascade which I used for a previous brew) and pretty much just made a Bell's Two Hearted Clone. Cheers!

I’m in Dubuque and pretty much everyone around here lost their Internet services after the storm so we had no idea how bad the storm was. Here it was just a regular little storm. We got all our stuff and kids toys in the garage about twenty minutes before it got here and it was a whole bunch of nothing. My uncle has one of those outdoor wood burning furnaces for his house and he went to CR a bunch of times and he loaded up enough wood to heat his house for about two or three years he said. But yeah, life gets in the way. I just figured you and Nicky had kids and you were way too busy to make videos. I used to do gardening and hop growing. Then my daughter was born and I haven’t had time for it the last three summers.

I’m in Dubuque and pretty much everyone around here lost their Internet services after the storm so we had no idea how bad the storm was. Here it was just a regular little storm. We got all our stuff and kids toys in the garage about twenty minutes before it got here and it was a whole bunch of nothing. My uncle has one of those outdoor wood burning furnaces for his house and he went to CR a bunch of times and he loaded up enough wood to heat his house for about two or three years he said.
But yeah, life gets in the way. I just figured you and Nicky had kids and you were way too busy to make videos. I used to do gardening and hop growing. Then my daughter was born and I haven’t had time for it the last three summers.
No kids for us-but 4 dogs, yes! :-) Thanks for the kind words, and cheers from down south just a bit! Happy to hear you were ok with that storm, it was horrible down here.
