Sonic Omens (previously named "Sonic 2020") is a platform fan game developed by a collaboration of Russian developers called "Mania team" lead by Alex Dmitriev aka Bolt, which was later disbanded and merged with "Ouroboros Studio". The game is available only on thePC platform, and only for Windows operating system.

The voice acting for Sonic makes me so happy- It reminds me of early Jason Griffith games. That nostalgic feel from when I was a kid playing on the Wii really hits with this one, I love it.

Sonic is the only semi-decent voice. Everyone else is meh while Tails and Shadow are garbage.
You're kidding right? The best sonic voice actor is definitely from the older games, sonic unleashed in my opinion was the last sonic game to actually nail a decent sonic voice.

damn this is really hi quality. my only gripe is the eyes and the fact that whoever made this game could've squeezed out better performances from the va's if they didn't tell them to imitate previous voices. They're all very talented, especially Sonic's.

From the voice acting, voice lines, background music, story, gameplay, graphics and the overall feels of a sonic game, they nailed it all.

Sadly, the dev studio is mired with major controversy after controversy from workplace abuse to sexualizing Maria, who might not have a known age by in terms of Sonic X(which this game seems to claim is "canon" for the story) was revealed to be 12.
I wanna give this game SOME kind of chance(got salty when I got no checkpoint in the first plane level), but I'd probably be better off ripping off my toenails and trying to make sunglasses out of them.
The voice acting was pretty bad. Especially Shadow.

as someone who played the game, its pure style over substance, the level design is infurating and doesnt fit a sonic game, the graphics look inconsistent giving off "mario in unreal engine" vibes and the bosses are completely unfair and not designed well

I really like how they brought back the wristband Chip gave Sonic in Unleashed, I also like this whole game and especially the music.

please tell me I’m not the only person here who has had no knowledge of this game ever since it came out, and just found out about it. 💀
Despite the controversy behind the scenes, I really love this game. It's just so fun! The music is great, I especially love that they got Bentley Jones to do the final boss vocal theme. The story is interesting, I like how it connects to Sonic X, and takes place between Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors. The graphics are pretty good, and the cutscenes have good animation. The level design is great, and the bosses are pretty fun (I don't know why people say the Maria boss was hard, I found it to be pretty easy) and the controls and physics felt really good. It's also a decent length, about as long as Sonic Forces. I don't know how to feel about the dev team, but I will commend them for making an awesome fangame.
I have already described in our document that the whole structure of the track as well as the note patterns are different from the track to which the comparison is made, but still.
If we assume that the author of the track is really incapable of nothing but theft, then it is logical to assume that all other tracks of this composer are also subjects of theft. In that case a question how those thefts weren't noticed by distributors, content ID system, labels, Bentley Jones and other musicians, and in the end by the "actual" right owners if some of those tracks, including the one in question, were officially released about two years ago? Which is more likely? That I have the thieving Holy Grail or that there was no theft and Twitter doesn't understand the issue?
If you come to the second conclusion, I suggest you consider other accusations against the development team. Perhaps Twitter is not the place to believe every word after all.

I think that the soundtrack was pretty good, and I especially love The Weight of the World. I had heard about the Cars 2 thing before I read the document, so I just thought I should have mentioned it at the time. It's just that when it comes to the internet, sometimes you can't tell who or what to believe, that's all. Sorry if I offended you. I'll edit my comment to remove that part.

Honestly the first level is my favourite and honestly the best in the game, the designs of the other levels while decent just don't come close in comparison.

i love the fact that you decide the precise movement of sonic, a turn changing direction just feels amazing with this engine. And the Physics on the rails is also nice imo all in all very great!

The game is 6 months away. If you aren't familiar with game development, that is not a lot of time to not only polish but actually put interesting stuff in the game. What they showed looked completely empty and somehow slow. If it doesn't get delayed it's in big trouble

@@zf10studios52 Eh, I beg to differ. Yes, the game still needs to fix it's kinks and what have you, but it along with games like a Sonic Riders fanmade game and Sonic and the Fallen Star really prove that fans that are willing to work on a fan-made game of a series can really pull it off!
This game honestly amazed me the first time I saw it a month ago by accident. Really thought SEGA might have made it, but damn, this really proves how far technology has come to help fans make what they love!

i honestly think most of the hatred towards this game is more so because the controversy with the developers rather than the game itself because every time i hear some say how awful the game is i'm genuinely wondering if were playing the same game cause i played multiple times and had a really fun time and i actually its better than some of the official sonic games (yeah i said it).

The ONLY thing I don’t like are the mouths. They don’t really sync up and sonics is permanently to the side
I remember watching someone play a stage similar to Waterfall Chase, if not the same stage. And how the Ginso Tree escape OST from Blind Forest was used.
This is due to the fact that in the early versions of the game (I think when only the White Jungle episode was released) the soundtrack "Restoring the Light, Facing the Dark" from Ori and the Blind Forest was really used...
After all, one of the main developers and head writer - Bolt is a fan of Ori, and really wanted to bring more of his favorite elements to Sonic Omens. And I will never blame him for this! 😏

It's gonna take some time for me to get used to these new voice actors, but it's better than the characters saying nothing!

@@solidusgadget That second part about the r34 doesn't make any sense. but the massive critism toward this game is that it has really bad level design, and a terrible homing attack. This game is literally a mouse and keyboard game. I feel bad for anyone playing this game on controller
