2:41 "Kami" is one of those Japanese words which has multiple meaning. Depending on the Kanji used it could mean "Paper" or "God" or "Hair" or "seasoning/flavouring" or "top/upper", etc
This anime is actually extremely fast paced xD , almost everything (except main story events) is a summary of what happens in the book because it is so content-packed :)
At least side events gets sumery instead of droped entirely like in so many other anime. Honestly Bookworm is one of the better adaptations given how slow paced the early parts are it does a good job geting your usally Anime viewer not tired out thogh i too preffer the more in deep LN/WNs but ofr an anime it does a pretty good job. now if it would get a Moshoku Tensai visual presentation that would elevate it to another Level but not every titele gets Unlimited Bugest works (see so im a spieder who could be elevated from a mystery what is this all about to an contender of some anine awards with some more love in the animation department)
I watched this anime about 5 times so far. I can't get enough of it I'm glad I finally get to see someone react to it. When it came out I kept searching for reactions of it and didn't find one. I can't wait until next season and hope you keep reacting to them.
@@pedantic79 same, except i read the light novel from the beginning to the end 5 times now, and I'm gonna do it again once the volume 5 part 4 comes out
This is a series where everything happens or is shown for a reason, there are no space fillers. Even if it doesn't seem important or necessary at the current time you can bet later down the track the dots will start connecting. Every event, every action, every failure, every single person our bookworm meets is a vital stepping stone on this journey. While this anime is a slow burn by most standards it does compress/speed up certain events due to the shift between fiction to visual media, understandably so.
the scene when she's writing on the slate is one of my favourite parts that they added to the anime from the light novel. In the light novel she just writes and passes out. I love that small moment they added when she writes her old name and just pauses to stare forward after saying that it's not her name anymore. The pause to absorb and reflect on the loss of her old life. That's some good shit
So yeah fair warning. This show is SLOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW but it's still a great isekai. Also all the world building is ramping up the story. By the end of the second season things are drastically different and more exciting
I think that what separates this Isekai for me is that the MC (Myne/Motosu) has actual exploitable weaknesses. While powerful, Myne is frail, Myne is weak, she also hasn't been taught how to harness her power. Those are just her physical frailties. Her obvious mental one being her obsession with books.
the mother works in a dye shop but she knows how to sew since wives would sew clothes for their families. To be considered beautiful a woman needs to know how to sew well
07:38 Fortunately, the alphabet in this show is pretty easy, it's just a 1:1 mapping of Latin alphabet, plus a couple of extra characters for digraphs or special sounds, and 10 digits. Although I must admit that I had a little trouble with decoding it at first, because they actually use two versions of each letter (regular letters and capital letters). But once I figured that out, the rest was trivial. You can also decode their digits from the calculations they present in episodes.
it a really slow progress show i really like it , but you really need to let the time pass to discover this world !!! just like the first part of Mushoku tensei when we don't even leave the house in beginning !!!
I'm hoping once Joe catches up to season 3, which will air this spring, he'll read the light novel. Again, when I watched this anime for the first time, I enjoyed it a lot, but the light novel is that much better (as most times with any show). I decided to read LN a year or so after 2nd season ended from the start and man I couldn't stop reading. Binged it rather fast. Lots of laughter and lots of tears shead. Yeah, amazing series. This 2nd episode has a small blip about the pig, but in the LN it's quite a story haha. Anyhow, glad to follow your future reactions to the show!
I've been reading through this gender for almost 6 to 7 years. On a normal isekai, other than some occasion where the MC reminiscent about our world, the story would have no connection whatsoever to our world to speak off. (Other than zero tsukaima and Gate) but this story is centered around our world tech and how Mine become a kind of Messenger that brought it to light. Unfortunately I don't think the anime will cover that part so it really is regrettable. I hope some other animation studio will pick up where the current one dropped off and give it its just series

You will find out later on why Myne/Main's body are fragile.

Even if it's fast paced,at least it's acceptable...not like some amazing anime which have fast pace on story but too simple.

I know, right? I went through the same thing.
Read the light novel from the beginning. It's well worth it.
@@pedantic79 I second what you wrote.

Such a good series, I'm reading the LN right now. And just finished showing the series to my daughter. She loved it.
The shampoo myne/main make doesnt exist in this world...it's the first one ever exist.
The mom is a dyer.
One if not the best issekai world builder hands down. Waiting till you see the darkness of this show lol
Well he’s up to episode 8 and should be watching 9-10 tomorrow haven’t gotten too dark yet but with each episode Joe is loving it more and more.
The dad is great, also the mom is a housewife and maybe a seamstress? I think?

Including the light novels!
I think the Reaction for this Series is already done, and posted on Patreon, they are just posting it here now because of upcoming S3
