Here's what you can do to have a higher success rate when baking:
1. Buy measuring cups or a scale. The cup you're using in the vid is meant to measure liquids. Using measuring cups or scales will assure that you're following the recipe more accurately. (They're also inexpensive)
2. Make sure that you have all the right ingredients ready. Read ahead before you bake so that you could buy/prepare all ingredients. Make sure you also get the right ingredients (baking soda and baking powder are different; bread flour, cake flour, ap flour are all different as well; active dry yeast and instant yeast are also different) baking is a science so there are reasons why a specific kind of ingredient is called for in a recipe:))
3. Typically, it's better to mix dry ingredients first, then wet ingredients separately, then combine rather than just combining them all at once. This is so that batter/doughsdon't have parts that have more salt, flour, baking soda, etc. Mixing them separately first will most likely result in a more homogeneous mixture.
