Serenity Moon I used to do that all the time. Never finished a novel. Do you ever find that a great idea begs you to write it down? But once you do, you forget about it, and have no motivation to write the rest. So, you write down the general gist of the plot and then SLOWLY fill in the details that beg you to write them down. They'll motivate you to do this. By the time you've done that, you might love your characters like your own children. Then you'll have plenty of motivation to fill in the rest, to complete their story. If you don't love them (or are passionate about them), you haven't fleshed them out enough. Keep writing. Practice is key. Good luck!
