I feel like I'm the only person not in LOVE with these new quads from Tom Ford!! But can I learn to love it, or is it a lost cause?

I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

Hello Charlotte, I think you made these look great with your eye looks, but this is a pass for me, with Danessa Myricks color fix, who needs to spend that much on this? Not me 😜
I picked up the pallete and it is what it is I like it quite alot. Now Sheseido has 2 very gorgeous brilliant peach and corals that I can use if I'm going to a yacht club party
I do think a few are more understated and that's ok. There is a place for them versus the PAT GLITZ so I want em all yall

I purchased all three quads and I was underwhelmed by Tiger Eye and I’m considering returning it. It doesn’t have any shimmer shades imo, it has metallic shades but no shimmer. Rose Taupe has a, singular, beautiful shimmer shame and I was very surprised because I almost passed on that palette.
Ok but now I have to know…is the Chantecaille Giraffe palette also a pass?
I’m seeing it everywhere 😩 and I’m *this* close to pulling the trigger…I’ve yet to try anything from the brand.

Agree! Same with CT eyeshadow palettes… sorry, I’ve seen and swatched them in store and they simply don’t wow me. I own a couple of CT face palettes, and same, they’re convenient, but I’m far from wowed by them. The eyeshadow finishes and quality that really excite me are like Natasha Denona and Pat McGrath, for example.
SAME! Like the color stories aren’t bad…but I don’t find them unique. Definitely not unique enough for me to shell out that kind of money for them. Thanks Charlotte!!! You’re so hilarious and genuine, I can’t get enough of your videos ❤️
I think it looks gorgeous. I love both looks. I’m quite happy with mine - I think it’s just meant to be a softer more sophisticated look. I’m like you, I like the strong shimmers, but this is just a different look. 🥰
I love the formula of these new TF quads. They blend so effortlessly. Tiger Eye might be my favorite.
I tried my friend’s Tiger Eye palette. I found it quite disappointing, especially at the price point. It then became an easy pass. Thank you for your total honesty. You’re the bomb!❤️

I can't for the life of me remember for sure, but I think creator Tania Wells (?) had trouble with this particular of the quads.. it was an instant hard pan moment and she exchanged it for another quad, the rose quartz, that worked out beautifully. There must be a batch issue or something idk.. figures that it would be in the color story I had the most interest in trying too!

Tom Ford has ridiculous prices! No way is his stuff worth the price tag. BTW you can go to the Cosmetics Company Outlet and get all of the products at 60% off!I just went in there and the stick foundation was less then $30.00. Come one this is a rip off

I agree 1000% with your review. I watched a few reviews before picking this up, and wondered why they didn’t use the peach shade more! And now that I have it, I realize they did! It’s just super soft focus and subtle. I also wish the peach was more vibrant. Using a finger, using a wet brush, did not intensify this for me. BUT on the other hand, I am not skilled at makeup application at all despite how much I love it, and it is a pretty idiot proof palette.
I did think it was funny though- I wore this for a teacher meeting at my daughter school, and I felt put together and subtle. When we got home my daughter wanted to do my makeup and when I told her o was already wearing eyeshadow she said really? And when I closed my eyes to show her, she just let out the most hilarious, underwhelmed, “ugh, yeah…I guess.”

Hi Charlotte! Just popped up here to say thank you for all your hard work. I’m not your usual demographic, as I’m 58 and a retired teacher with a significant disability (had MS for 24 years). I agree with you, with regard to this release. We are in the U.K., Blackpool actually. However I’m currently in Vegas with my husband, a gift from our son. Last year my husband caught Covid-19 and was terribly sick. He ‘celebrated’ new year by being put into a coma. I was invited in to ICU for what they call an ‘end of life’ visit, as the odds are that for anyone as sick as my husband, only one in ten would survive. He was the one. For about 8 hours we were so happy! Then I found a lump. Within a week I was being told I had triple negative, metaplastic breast cancer. I’m ok now, as is my husband., but I lost myself in shopping and at my age I should know better!xxx

I understand you escaping into make up shopping. I did same when my mum was terminally ill with cancer.Don't be so hard on yourself, there are worse things you could have done and you are now managing the consequences. Wish you good health in future.

I do think both eye looks are very pretty but I feel like I could achieve the same looks from a Charlotte Tilbury palette. If the price point was lower I might give one of these quads a try but I’d rather invest in Pat McGrath/Natasha Denona/Charlotte Tilbury products at this price.
I had heard with ELF Bite Size Shadows, one of the four shades was irrelevant. But it’s $3. With Tom Ford, when one of the four shades doesn’t carry it’s weight, at $89 it’s an easy pass.

I had the same thing 2 I was expecting more color but it just a wash of color on the eyes not that pigment I think this eye shadows are only for people that don’t like to much color on there eyes ❤️ they are beautiful but not that much of color that’s what I think
I think its gorgeous, more than a mediterranean chanel one, for me and my aging eye, one (maybee) two&done 😅 for an every day look...❤😘
I love a few of TF original eye shadow palettes but it has been several years since I've been excited over anything TF. I won't buy lipsticks because they go bad way too quickly for the $. I do really like several of the foundations. thank you for another great and honest review.
I completely understand your experience, thank you so much for sharing the ‘unpopular opinion’. You have saved many people a lot of money. It looks beautiful on you even though it doesn’t fit your preferences. The peach is a little underwhelming but so beautiful!
Keep the quad, you will love it in your 40s. I would never have looked twice at this before BUT now (in my mid 40s these summer, soft looks are my jam). I am so undecided between this and smokey quartz. I never wear an all matt look but it is tempting me.
I can tell you aren’t wowed… but I must say the look is giving pretty, sophisticated vibes. Wear anytime anywhere kinda palette. I agree not groundbreaking, just nice.
You’re not the only one.. I personally did not love this palette.I had really bad issues with it not showing up and giving me hard pan right away!

Thank you for the video! I am a TF eyeshadow quad collector & purchased 2 out of the 3 releases, but I was disappointed with the overall color story and feel that I have these already from my TF collection but in different formulas. I ended up returning the two, and look forward to future releases that might be more interesting and varied from what I already have.

$89.00 for a quad?? I’ll try a few quads from the Company Store discount warehouse just to get a feel for the brand but I can’t stand feeling like I’ve been taken to the cleaners on any purchase. It’s the principle of the thing.
Tom Ford quads, Pat McGrath collections…. I am sooooooo tired of expensive product launches (and I am a long time high brands and pro products collector), all the same, more of the same…. Agg. I adore you and I'm still faithful to your channel, but really, I can't anymore with more of the same on the beauty channels.

Is the 'peach' shimmer shade similar to anything from a Charlotte Tilbury palette?
I'm in the same boat! I got mine for free to review and it immediately got weird cream hard pan???? So bizarre but really disappointed and not at all what I expected
Tom Ford has sold his beauty line, so the quality went down… In the beginning het was very good, I still use Cocoa Mirage, all mattes every day. Then he was good
I think these are supposed to be more subtle shimmers. I prefer more natural makeup so my eyeshadow is not wearing me, if that makes sense. These are wonderful for mature lids 😊
I ordered Rose Topaz or something like that and I was thinking about ordering Tiger Eye. Now idk
It reminds me of Chanel's Tisse Vendome. The orange is the star of Chanel and it is a softer color story. TF is too expensive NOT to love.
I do think Tom Ford shadows look all similar, all dark 😂 I have so far one palette - Nude Dip

The only thing is that the shimmer color brings out the crinkles in your eyelid even on your young eyelids 🥺
So the first time I used tiger eye I was like what is this and I never wanted to use it again but I made myself and I love it now

I have a lot of the same thought with Tiger Eye.
Tom Ford palettes are their own aesthetic and this looks consistent with his. This will look beautiful on my fair skin so i will be picking it up at some point!

So I do enjoy Tom Ford quads, particularly the wet dry formula ones. However, I purchased Rose Topaz and used it and I also wasn’t in love. The look was fine, but nothing special. It kind of reminded me how other cream to powder shadows work - like Tarte’s - they are okay, but only okay. I am hopeful he sticks with the wet dry formula or the Metallust formula!

Ha ha! I just posted my YT review on this Tiger Eye quad and Smoky Quartz. I'm pretty honest in my review as well. Overall, I'm pretty underwhelmed and disappointed. I'm rooting for TF, but not gonna get caught up in the hype on this reformulation. It's pretty, but not amazing. I miss the old wet and dry formulas.

I got smoky quartz. Loved the shades but had an issue with hard pan on the lightest shade. Asked others about it and theirs was fine so I returned and ordered a new one. Hoping it doesn't hard pan again! 🤞

@@CharlotteHoldcroft very, they're $110.00 here in Canada. If it hard pans again, no more TF for me lol. It doesn't even happen in my small Lawless palettes that are much cheaper.
Tania Wells did a review and she had the same issue with Tiger's Eye.
@@carolinek2446 aww, I know I saw her review, that's exactly why I didn't buy that one. So frustrsting. I spoke to her on IG and she said she had no issues with the Smoky Quartz so maybe they're having batch issues.

Hi dear Charlotte thanks so much for another brilliant and very honest video!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩 I love these quads on their own, but when i want more shine especialy on my mobile eyelids i use something else, like from ND/SG/PMG. But 51 years old here with sensitive eyes now and than, so love to mix and match actually. And when having more sensitive eyes, love to mix with the beautiful shiny shades in the Chantecaille duo eyshadow's for instance, and other Chantecaille shadows, love the VB single shadows, some of CT. But those mattes...almost giving the Cocoa Mirage experience, very very good!!! That peachy shade i also don't like, i did put another shadow over it, i believe from the Monte Carlo duo from Chantecaille. So yes i am a mostly in love with TF shadows, these are, besides Surratt, Suqqu, and have 1 Koh Gen Do quad, blends like butter, feels like butter on the eyes!!! But not always in love with the TF shadows, it depends and that is why i first watch these video's, beside that fact that it is not always easy to get them to The Netherlands. So when Bijenkorf here has some new, they are gone in a day mostly. Also some chance at Sephora France and that is it. From the USA and even from the UK it mostly says: no delivery to The Netherlands. But there are more eyeshadows Charlotte, i unpacked the new Sydney Grace Valentine palette and i was so amazed this brand never lets down, every shadow swatched like a dream, gonna use it soon!!! I'm not very organised with eyeshadow too, love to mix and match from mostly 3 to 4 quads or palettes. I live in coastal Australia where we don't have make up counters selling these - so I really rely on authentic You Tubers as yourself to educate me on these products which we can only buy online - a risky business when we're talking AUD$145 per quad!! I’m all hot & bothered for the Shiseido mono shimmers, but I’m also more tantalized by the Lancôme Rose & Taupe palettes. I know they have been around for years, but they LOOK awesome

So, I am one of those people who prefer a softer look. I’m also very fair so I feel that peach would be a perfect one shadow look for me. This quad sounds like it’s right up my alley and checks all the boxes. BUT, there is no way on God’s green earth that I would ever pay $89 for 4 shadows. No thank you TF!
I only have one Tom Ford palette, old formula, Honeymoon and my opinion is similar. I can't make the one brighter color to stand out. They all blend into one color pretty much. Very disappointing, so I never got to buy another one. :'(
What if you used the wand from pat mcgrath. That is supposed to intensity the shimmers
I had the same thought 💭. I have the wand now all I need is the quad haha. I wonder how this formula performs wet or over glitter glue (or intensify wand).
Being realistic, for such an expensive priced palette you shouldn't need to get Pat's primer to intensify it. I love using Pat's primer to intensify her special shades though and I don't mind using it for her shades as the pigment is already there

Hi Charlotte, have you tried the Tom Ford "Golden Peach" cream eyeshadow (the one in the double-decker pot with a powder shadow on the top section)? That is beautiful and might be more up your street. 😀

Thank you! A couple of days ago , I was at the company store and all of a sudden people were rushing to get those palettes. They were scooping them by the tens! I had to swatch it, I mean it must be magic and I probably definitely need one.. nothing. I swatched it and got nothing. The faintest color pay off. Maybe for a very fair skin tone it will be ideal, the wash of color simply doesn't go with my skin tone nor features. Even for 20 $ or so, I know insane discount, but I'd rather get something I can actually use.

I’d rather like the opportunity to get my hands on one to judge for myself! I want the all matte quad but it seems to be sold out everywhere except Beautylish and they won’t send to Greece. Personally PMG and some of ND shimmers just shimmer too much so my preference is for satins. As you say, each to his own.
This reminds me of a shimmer version of PM fleur quad and Dior’s Mitza palettes. Anyone else see the resemblance?

Hi. Tom Ford shadows never interested me at all. The colours are all the same , he never ventures out of the brown confort zone and the price is just to mutch for so little. I get more payoff with some BH palettes for a third of the price.
Have you tried the cream duo in Golden Peach? That is what I was hoping for with the peachy rose gold shade!
