You are a big part of my 'research' since I discovered you. I always have believed in win - win scenarios - and as a US expat - retired in Siem Reap - I would be able to help the local people by spending my SS monthly income there. In return I will benefit from the low cost of living compared to the US ! > Both of us benefit -- both win !!! - - - I am really surprised so many Khmer people speak English - halfway around the world (!) - and - that they accept the USD ! The friendliness really gets to me and the Kharma that exists is special ! Few places on earth are as welcoming to others. I admire and greatly respect them for these values they display. ❤👍🙏✌👌👋👊
My husband and I will be making our early retirement there in a few months. Mine and family’s birth place is in Battambang. Can’t wait to make our life there and be close to relatives.
If I were you I would bike to to see Prasats as a routine. One, is to exercise. Two, is to learn and admire from each one of them. Three, is to get something to do. I love Siem Reap too for retirement.
My wife and I moved to Cambodia during Covid-19 for retirement. We have been living in Siem Reap for about 3 years now. I watched a few of your videos. It seems like your early retirement plan is similar to ours. Maybe one of these weekends we could meet up for lunch. We are at SSK Apartment, pretty close to Ford dealership.
@@tachapchannel Oh, great! what or where is your favorite place to eat? By the way, We’re from Sacramento, California. What state are you from? Sound like you are more fluent in Khmer than I am.
You’re looking young for retirement how long have you been learning in Cambodia? It sounds good to live in Cambodia, more relax take it easy less pressure but….
@ Seim Reap Po 💯 my favorite. Angkor Wat keeps calling me back. Our ancestors DNA 🧬 this American life isn’t for me. Thanks for all the content Po. I’ll see you there and have coffee with you soon. 💯🇰🇭🎯🙏🏽🧬
When I retire, I also want to live in Cambodia. I am still debating whether to live in Battambang, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville. Phnom Penh is too chaotic. Do you need a physical address in the U.S. to get mail, keep your ID active for your passport, and file income tax? Do you have a designated person to open your mail in the U.S.?
Rent three months first and find out if you like it. If you do like it, then you can looking for property. Right now I own a farm house and rent apartment in the city.
How can I quit my job making $10,000 per month to retire early like you? I watch your videos and am thinking of doing it also, but I don't know where to begin. Any suggestions?
I feel the best way is to try it out by taking some time off and experimenting retiring at that place and see how you like it before your drastic change. Good luck!
@self-sufficientandearlyret8756 I spent 22 years in school to get to this job. I am now having a hard time stepping away and giving it up. When I watch your videos, I enjoy the slow pace and relaxation. I will try to visit Cambodia this year...
I moved here a couple of months ago after two years in Thailand.
very nice
How is SR compared to wherever you were in Thailand? How are you finding it?

@ I like eating out at Green Sukisoup on national road 6. I live in San Jose, California. We are still commuting between the state and here.

Not a problem at all. You can turn ac when you need it 🎉

I’m going be your first person to watch this video 😅question for you is it good to have a sedan or SUV in Cambodia
Depending on where you live, if you live in town I prefer suv, if you live in the farm pickup truck is way to go. Thanks for your support
They certainly have you conned
Yes
Have you been to Battambang? What are your thoughts on it? Too rural? I was looking into Kampot too.
Very nice place, I like Battombong but some of the roads still bumpy and dusty.🎉

In my case I still have home in USA my son he is living there. He keeps all my mails
Pou, did you buy your home or you rent? I'm interested in moving back to Srok Khmer.

If you feel it’s your passion to do so at your age. Will you get tired of nothing to do? If so work until you’re exhausted.

It easy , just quit, sell your house if you have one , take all your money and move
US Citizen have to file tax if we live in Cambodia
I filled tax in USA annually.
I'm married to my job... 😂. Do you buy an apartment in Siem Reap and own a piece of land in a rural area? How much is a decent apartment?
I rent a one bedroom apartment in the city for $250 and owned a farmhouse near by Angkor Wat.
