A colony of honeybees built their hive in a backyard compost bin and I was called to remove them! Here's the 1-minute clip of this bee removal that went mega viral!
"Hey Fred, have you checked out Texas Beeworks?" Yes, now I can say that I have indeed. Wonderful video and excellent honey bee handling! I'll stop back when I get caught up around here. Wishing you all the best with your bees! Thanks for setting an excellent example for others.
imagine not recognising frederick dunn, one of the cornerstones of youtubee :/ have you checked out her other videos? she has some really fascinating removals. wishing you well!
I have watched numerous videos of Bee Keepers and by far you are the best. During relocating the combs you keep them in the same position, the way you handle the bees and your knowledge of bee behavior. You are truly the 🐝 best friend.
I just had bees move into my compost bin today. Learning how to manage/remove them is why I'm here. I'd love to keep them but my wife is not as enthusiastic.
I admire your work and what you do for the bees! We need to save all these bees. They are so important for the pollination of plants. Thank you for saving them.
Hi Erica, I live Bees and respect them highly. There was a Bush at my entrance to my apartment. I'd tell kids to not touch the bush. Go about their biz. 1 curious little girl did not listen and got chased. My kids never got stung nor I. They are amazing. It was as though they got to know we belonged there too.
Amazing work. Where I live there is not much bees, so I am so happy if I see one or 2 flying over the orange Jasmine. But I am afraid to get close to them. 🌱 looking forward to more of your work 😍❤

Ok let’s be honest…… I came across this channel due to bees? But seriously being honest I’ve kept watching because Erika is one of the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen!! Dude…..
Thank you, Jeff! I actually don’t take 2nd story or higher removals or removals that require extensive ladder work-to minimize risk but also since I work by myself and removals on ladders take three times as long. I’ve known too many great and very experienced beekeepers who have gotten hurt from a misstep on a ladder. I just can’t afford to be out of commission from an injury. Maybe one day I’ll invest in a scaffold, but I’m just fine on the ground or low ladders until then! Bee well!
i'm literally this 🤏close to moving to texas so i can work for you lmao. i love bees so much and could see myself being a bee keeper but i don't know shit about it haha
This completely dismisses the usual "common mishaps" people tell about handling bees. So simple yet so... brave. This is not just interesting but very educational!
Thank you so much! It's always a little funny to me when people use the word 'brave', which is a very generous word, but because I work with bees every day I really just think of it as knowledge, experience and patience. I appreciate you following along!
I’m really curious to know why the other bees don’t get upset when you put the queen in a clip for transporting? I know you’re keeping her safe, but how do the bees know that? I love your videos, they are absolutely mesmerizing and has made me appreciate bees so much more so thank you!!
I think I've heard in another video it's cos the other bees can still get to her through the the gaps in the clip and bring her food. You're right, theyare so interesting :)
I only saw a video of yours by chance and man I'm impressed. You're a wonderful person saving bees the way you do. I hope you have continued success. I also love how soothing your videos are.
I'm allergic to bees but I'm trying to teach my kids to not fear and run from harmless creatures and this short video was very helpful for that so thank you!! I have to make sure they know the difference between bees and wasps though!
Please do more removal / relocation videos!!! I’m so glad I discovered your channel- educational and fascinating. Can you please do more? Thanks for teaching people how to be respectful towards honeybees.
Hi, have you ever had to deal with Africanized Honey Bees? I saw a video recently that showed they’re in Texas, so I was wondering how you deal with them?
Fuck TV. This is a great example of why YT is better than TV ever was. Individual people with one camera doing something ACTUALLY interesting trumps 200 people, 10 cameras, and weeks to shoot, and the product is actually BETTER.

So cool you do this! My grandfather lives in Mesquite Texas and saved many bee Colonies in my life time. I have many Memories of bees swarming in his backyard on his peach trees. He knew just what to do with them.
I hope this isn't a dumb question but when they put their bums down, it kinda looks like they're trying to sting you. How do you know they're not? Or what is that behavior?
I wondered as you walked off with the hive how many disoriented bees are left behind. I hope they find or follow u to the truck. No bee left behind. Ha.
I always feel sorry for the fr the few dozen/hundred/thousand often left behind! Why do u not just wait longer and ger ALL of them? Instead of just the majority. Its like returning to yr Home Town n finding everyone has gone, house included......sad.😢
Watch more of her videos - she is very careful to get as many bees as she can. She sometimes leaves the new hive there overnight to give all the bees a chance to move into it. And sometimes she gets nearly a parade of bees marching into their new home, once the queen is secured in the new hive.
@@paulgarcia3524 not sure if thats a ironic comment or not. Byt I'm sure if you Google "bees threatened" you'll find a bunch of articles on the subject. I was merely interested if Texas beeworks had any interesting info about their experiences.
Many things... first and foremost the temperament of the bees. If they’re exhibiting aggressive behavior (trying to sting, pinging me as the fly, etc), I put on PPE. Size of the hive also matters. A smaller colony has less resources to defend and tends to be less aggressive. However, this was a large colony that was very gentle. Also temperature outside. I did this removal on an August afternoon in Austin and it was 100 + degrees outside.
Love these videos so much Erika! I love hearing "There she is!" everytime you find the queen!

I like this video because your voice is normal and you dont elongate the word bees at the end
Another great day of saving the bees!!!!
God bless you for saving the bees! If the bees die, so do we!
I prefer the way she is talking in this video. her more recent ones she is sounding like a hippy talking about organic hemp back packs
I’ve watched all the videos and now I need more please!!! Thank you.
I love every bee saving video from you! But I wonder if I could see what you do with those bees that you saved? Great job as always btw!
I prefer her speaking more naturally like in this video. In more recent ones, it sounds like she's attempting to put us asleep - or at least the bees.
Exactly. The weird voice is just insufferable
I love how the last frame in every video she's smiling into the camera
After watching a few of your videos, I just had to subscribe!
