You've done it again Nick, another fab video! I just showed this to my students as a treat at the end of their marine lecture with me...think they are going to start following the channel!
Wow - Just added this to my bucket list. Paul did an excellent job of selling the experience without arousing any passenger safety concerns but as importantly, without diluting the potential excitement either. When he highlighted his background nautical experience it all made perfect sense!
Thanks for the 'ride' Nick! The Captain is a safe and experienced pair of hands there. Been on a couple of these rides in my life and that hasn't always been the case!
That looked like far too much fun!! 😄
The noise from those Mercs is addictive! 😉
That boat is an absolute machine! The combination of top speed then the insane turning radius but bank angle that she achieves through the bends, while maintaining incredible stability!
0:53 Maggie the wunderpack is safely buckled and having a blast.
I was hoping you’d brought her. I love this video!
Reminded me of the Jet boat ride I had on the Willamette river in Portland, Oregon. I was thoroughly soaked and unfortunately also thoroughly sun burnt. Still fun and I appreciated seeing you so happy Sir Burnham!!
The Jet boat ride up the Niagara is an awesome trip to take too, up to the knees in water at some points... wonder what size elephant's trunks it had as the water was gone in seconds.
The gimbal on the front works really well. Looks like a fun day out.
Pretty much the most fun you can have for £40 I would wager .
I could think of £40 worth of liquid chocolate and a bath!..........
Buy other than that, a ride on a big RIB, fantastic!
Have to watch out for those bloody pot buoys though!
Well done for holding on! It’s always so much more difficult as a passenger! Great camera work and what a boat!
“Is there anything else you would like to see from her?” - Why yes... let’s chat about a little matter called fuel- burn 😂😂😂. What a machine!!
I think she might be just ever so slightly quicker across the bay than Smugglers Blues Nick.
I've nothing much to say except saying you got great camera skills Mr Aquaholic even in speeding boat, your videos are crystal clear
Love the cinematography at the end Nick! The speed and acceleration was amazing on video. I can only imagine how much fun it is to actually feel it!
About 18 months ago, we went to Canada and, amongst other things, went whale watching from Vancouver Island. We went out in a very similar rig, even down to the triple Verados, and the sound they make is spine tingling. It was quite a grey day and at one point it was raining, and I can vouch for the fact that, even at fifty knots, the rain feels like it's shot blasting your face, but what an experience. Oh - and we saw a pod of humpback whales. Absolutely amazing
I loved the way the captain talked about his boat ❤️ would absolutely go for a ride if I was in the UK
WOW😎 who’s up for a jolly boys outing on a Raptor? Best not have too many beers before hand. Fantastic.
4.6l 300hp Mercury, my MG ZT it has a supercharged Ford 4.6 V8 with 400bhp it don't sound like those Mercurys. Epic looking ride Nick, will have to look that up when we can finally get back over to the UK.
What a fun change of pace Nick...! The child-like look of joy you had when the captain got on the throttle... Priceless!
What an incredibly stable piece of kit. I wish them the best in their endeavor, and thanks for yet another thoroughly entertaining tour... Cheers mate!
Powerfull boat🔥🔥🔥
There you can see that a boat doesn't always have to be luxurious if you want to have fun (but luxury is also very cool)
Best 40 quid ride I ever took. Wait it was free! Thanks Nick wicked fun to ride along!
OMG. That’s awesome Nick. And what a great guy and experienced skipper. I’m up for that and wish them all the best in their new venture!
What a great video Nick, well explained by the Captain on the technical side of the RIB and his own background. The look on both your faces was priceless. Loved it...
Wow!!! We visit Brixham every year will definitely look in to jumping on board this beast of a machine when we are next down in May. Hopefully we will bump in to you Nick and say hello.
That shot at 17:22 really puts the speed in perspective! Incredible work by Ribquest!
Not sure what this shows off more, the awesome boat ride or the Gopro Lens mod. The stability off the shots whist on such a fast boat is brilliant.
you forgot to look at the crew cabin Nick! What an amazing boat and what a beautiful part of the world you live in!!!!
Love the sound of Mercury's. The static liners are great for giving us a feel of the speed you were travelling at. Looks like an immense amount of fun.
Looks great fun Nick you definitely deserve all the joy you are getting now thank to all the work you put in.
Great video.
Looks like great fun. 'Flying stations' as the Navy would say. Ace!
What a fabulous piece of kit in the event of a drama at sea. Fantastic. Thank you
Nick just keeps them coming. Yet another toy I can't have. Those outboards really performed! Was it as smooth as it looked. Your own amusement park ride to boot.
That ride looks like it totally pushed your limits!!
Nice fun video that Nick thanks for sharing, owner comes across as very competent too, would happily pay for a go if I was ever down that end of the country 👍🏻
One hell of a ride! Looks really fun. What a beast! Cheers!
Those Mercurys really get up and go! Thanks for bringing us along!
Omg this looks incredible! Like i don't like to be on mini boats, but looking this is awesome!
I had the privilege to be on one of these in North Wales once, a couple of years ago! What an experience that was! Absolutely fantastic!
Shall take a wonder over when they open and see about having a go. A lot more fun than just going over to Brixham on the Western Lady. Regards from Kingskerswell Nick. Great video again.
what a great video Nick! thank you for sharing. Great boat but as impressive is the stabilisation of the cameras! good work all round!
Woo-Hoo! I didn't think that the video would capture the excitement of zipping around but that looks like a real thrill!
It’s great going fast in a boat,me and my dad used to run a boat in Whitby called Whitby jet,it was a lovely jet drive speedboat that seated up to 12 people,we used to race Whitby lifeboat(as my dad was a lifeboatman) and they were going flat out and were just slowly pulling away from us,she was a beautiful boat
I keep telling my wife, there is so much to do and see in the UK than just London. I love the south coast of England when I have visited. Haven't made it out your way yet Nick, but next time!
I did something like this in Bermuda some years ago, a speed boat called Wildcat circumnavigated the island at high speed. It was great fun!
Great video, looks like fabulous fun, and what a lovely guy that Paul is, looks very professional and loves what he does
That was the best ASMR Aquaholic video yet!
And the smile on Nick's face. :D
lenth and shape of wake always a good indicator, that hull is excellent.
Performance machine, but so effortless.
My mate from school went in the Army just after I did. After he served 5 yrs, he left to do open university Naval architecture course. He now design rigid raider type powerboats etc for the military. The last one he sent a pic of was a really powerful river only patrol rib. I bet he'd do well in the superyacht industry. Sorry Nick as random comment. Looking at this vessel, reminds me of his design.
Royal Marines and SBS training in Poole Harbour use similar looking craft, except they slam theirs up onto the beach head coming out guns blazing
@@regfenster I use to operate the early Gemini rubber boats, with the Johnson 35 engine. 18 knots isn't quick, but sat that low in the water, it feels quicker. I also operated the Rigid Raiders they used during my time in the military (but our main Rib was the Artic 22 with two 75hp Mercury engines. We did use twin 90s, but it made our trim act terribly). They rarely slam a beach with guns Blazing. They are stealth warriors, so not a common tactic used by them. The Royal Marine Commando would definitely hit the beach a guns Blazing. As they are the Amphibious Warefare specialists that are trained to take enemy held beaches. The SF would stealthily survey the best beach for the main force to land (The few hours before DDAY 1944, One of the bravest but least-known units of the second world war, the undercover reconnaissance teams sent in midget submarines to survey the beaches used in the D-day and other amphibious landings, is a fine example). I served 3 different times in the British Army. I'm now a 49yr old Disabled British Army Veteran. My 2nd time serving, was 3 yrs as a regular soldier(Dec 89 1990 to March 1993), in the Royal Corps of Transport Maritime Regts. I served on Army Landing Craft, Mexeflote Rafts, Tugs and Dutch Barges, LCVPS, Ribs, Geminis, Workboats, and small fast patrol boats etc. We use to teach the SAS coastal navigation, blind pilotage, and small boat handler courses for members of their Boat Troop. Where the SF is a totally different beast from my first 3 times of serving. The 3rd time serving in the T.A 02 to 04. After 05 when SFSG/SRR, and other tier 2 forces, helped the tier 1 SAS & SBS. The two tier one units, do a joint selection nowadays, and so they use the SBS to now train them on Small boat handling. I'm not breaking any secrets, as its all common knowledge. I'd never say anything to put my former, and esp serving mates lives at risk.
You should visit Poole Harbour, or the Solent. As now and then - they even slam them into Chinook helicopters. Albeit that the Chinnock is hovering inches above the water with part of its ramp in the sea. So they can embark very quickly at sea, instead of the time consuming hitting the shore, and loading into the helo on land etc. Now that's a serious piece of skill of both parts. The pilot must be crazy, as is the Rib skipper aiming for the ramp lol. Seriously dangerous.
@@didgerb72 I've seen the Royal Marines jump from the C130 over or near Old Harry Rock up from the vantage point of Studland Village, it looked like a long swim was the order of the day. I know the base at Hamworthy too, having worked in there as a scaffolder years ago, and being from Poole myself I've often seen the boys out training from time to time.
I may have to plan the family holiday down that way next year just to have a ride on that thing.... absolute beast, thanks Nick
Reminds me of the time in the late 80s when I was part of the Follet class one powerboat team...I would certainly like a ride on it....
Great Vlog👍and nice camera 📷 work with a bumping boat 🛥 and a hard headwind! Liked the music montage at the end! I'd like to see what it would do with a couple, or three, of the Mercury Verado 600hp V12 motors! Would work great on a "tour" boat like that with the 2 speed transmission and steerable gearcase where the whole motors don't turn, just the lower half that's in the water so it's more stable and balanced in turns
Nice one Nick , that, s blown the cob webs out off the wallet , now off to look for my eye balls ,yes must start to think of the polish and bits and pieces for the season . Thank you both for shacking me out of winter mode .
Supporting local businesses! 👍👍
Soon, Nick will have a blue plaque on his house.
Not bad for £40, the old speed boat at Oddicombe was £5-10 for 5 minutes.
It doesn’t rain in Torquay it’s sweat from up high.
It’s quick when you see the harbour entrance disappear.
Elberry cove less than 4 minutes. Nice it of kit.
Should give the Cruise ship a honk, like they do for us Torquay residents.
Heart surgeon: I'll just reconnect the aorta valve to the.....oh wait, I'll be right back, Aquaholic has posted a new vid!
That looked awesome fun, much faster than my 4.2m sib with the 6hp yam lol.🤪👍🇬🇧❤️
Having taken a high speed RIB ride down the Thames a few years ago, I now really want to do this!!
That looks AWESOME 🤘🤘
Wow Nick. That looks amazing. Proper fast. A bargain for a ride of your life. The camera shots are phenomenal. Awesome video thanks 😊
I would definitely try this, and would be a great first experience for others who haven’t been boating!
Wow! Amazing boat and lovey sounding engines, great time you would have on that.
This is just astonishing nick! 60 knots is proper quick, and the sea is just beautiful.
Absolutely brilliant, what a day out, definitely visit this what I am back in the country.
Great fun! Great video! Worth popping down for the day ! About as much fun you can have with your trousers on for £40..
WOW £40 coming your way next time in the area. What a great bit of Kit.
Wow that thing looks absolutely wild! I love it!
I've done this (not the same boat) in Bridlington before, highly recommended.
Good fun, im always down for these trips. Next time I'm in Torquay I'll be on it.
Top Tech Kit + Speed that rivals Bonneville Racers = FUN. FUN. FUN.
Thanks Nick. My eyes are still watering from all that SPEED...
It's like a cheat code for a boating simulator! "Oh... you want to be over with those cruise ships right now? Hold on!" My buddy and I would do this, no doubt, if we didn't live thousands of miles away. This will be a great video for him to link to from a website so people can get an idea of what's in store. It's awesome seeing entrepreneurs create a fun experience for people that would love to try out those super speed boats. I hope you guys get released back into normal life very soon.
That is value for money I paid £175 in Wales to zip wire over a lake it didn’t float my boat like this video did wow this is on my bucket list for next year thanks Nick 👍👍
Done that on Loch Ness - *very* highly recommended!
Wow just fantastic Nick Sir.. The voice of the sea is terrific and music 🎶 is great... I can feel the speed.. Amazing 👏🙀 Sir... And but not the last looking dashing as always...
my god that would be a amazing experience .... it would be a thrill of a lifetime
Looks great fun!!! Will be coming down and paying my 40 quid for a blast on that in the Summertime.
How much would that boat cost and what sort of range would you get out of it at say 50 knots?
Love you Aquaholic!!! From Aussie😉
Damnit .... I've never had a bucket list ..... till now ..... WOW ! I enjoyed that, a lot, thanks :)
Marvelous, I hope this is a success for them. The acceleration is astounding!
That’s awesome!!!! Well worth the money!
Your reaction said it all every time he hit the throttles 🙌🙌🙌
Nick. SIGN ME UP! That looks like a great time with close friends or new friends.
the music at the end spoilt it the sound of the engines now thata sound you loveto hear
Wow! So much more fun than I thought it would be! And how do you choose such great club music?!
What a cracking video and experience. Nice one Nick. 😎✌🏻
Next time I am in torquay I will definitely be booking in... would be the best £40 I ever spend.
Looks outrageous and only 40BP, can’t wait to try it.
Great video and what a fantastic professional outfit - definitely on my bucket list!
The next time I am in the Torquay area, I will definitely be participating in the raptor experience. What an excillerating thrill seekers sport, definitely worth £40 nick!
Its har to understand how sick this boat is from the film, but the mercs are singing😀
NIck, thank you so much for not layering music over the actual ride portion of the video. It was great to hear the motors sing and hear how the hull was interacting with the water. Yes there is wind noise in the mic but you get the same wind noise in your ears when out in real life, especially when running hard. Would love to know what the camera boat was in the end of the video, give us some perspective to understand how quick the rib was overtaking and out performing the camera boat. Great video!!
Excellent video - is there any reason to run 3 x 300 instead of 2 x 450 ?
Great vid
Impressive bit of kit
Seems like a top blowke as well
She was chasing me into the harbour the other weekend (or it felt like that anyway). It was actually quite scary!!! Will need to get on her this summer that's for sure.
Top stuff , did you double up a lanyard on the GoPro for this one ? :D
Kids treated me to this yesterday as a Father’s Day gift. It was every bit as thrilling as @aquaholic described!
The funny thing at the very start of the video there were 6 people in the front!! 🐬👀🏊🏼♂️🏊🏼♂️🏊🏿🏊🏾🏊♀️🏊🏿♀️
Great business I wish them every success. And this year the UK is a staycation bonanza. And well needed £ local economic boost too.
Cheers
I am planning on visiting the Paignton area within the summer, could be a fantastic opportunity!
Okay I need to go on this Nick so awesome wow looks fun 🤩 🇨🇦
Awesome filming- you get a real feel for the speed, acceleration and fun of it all. A bargain for £40!
Awesome! Must feel like Bond in the final scene of Thunderball!
I've come to the conclusion that your channel is the epitome of "It's a Tough Job, But Somebody Has To Do It".!!.
