*Corrections
01:14 "ㄹㅍ" is another compound consonant that follows the pronunciation of the second batchim (ㅍ). For example, the word 읊다 will be pronounced like [읍따] and 읊어 will be pronounced like [을퍼], following the consonant assimilation. *Other than this, there aren't many words that are spelled with this combination, so it won't be an issue in your studies!*
can we just appreciate we're getting this for free
Yea i love her teaching lessons she makes it easy
that’s why I watch all the ads because I can’t pay but I wanna support
Soo true😍👍
I am already appritiating this☺ like-why not
Exactly
Damn after these 4 vid I now have a stack of 17 pages of notes
I got stacks of notes as well! Haha! Good luck on learning, i hope you'll speak and understand Korean fluently soon and stay safe!
have you remebered the consonant assimilation yet? if so, how did you teach yourself to remember it?
@@mysticallyweird5928 i made concise notes and summarized all rules in 2-3 pages. Then i made flashcards to keep reviewing the assimilation. In between these review sessions, i made flashcards with the words that use consonant assimilation and tried to read them without looking at notes then checked if i was correct. Honestly, if you keep reviewing the rules and reading new words, the consonant assimilation will come naturally to you. Hope this helps. The assimilation came to me in a week or two.
@@ashcat7636 Okay thanks
@@mysticallyweird5928 I fit all the rules on 1 sheet of paper and i memorized one section a day. Now I know them all. I test myself daily on them to make sure I will always remember them. Kind of like how even if I take a 2 month break from learning Korean, I can still read basic words. Hope this helps ^_^ Maybe finding something that works for you and not others would be best though
I found it hard to learn Korean language however, Miss Vicky make it so easier. Very well delivered. Thank you so much
Learning Korean is something I've taken up for myself during the quarantine because the language really speaks to me on a very personal level and it just feels like it has a beautiful soul. I've started my journey thanks to you and your wonderful methods of teaching.
감사합니다, 선생님 !
How is it going
@@cjf9086 I would like to know too
Your handwriting isn't horrible, it's beautiful just like you: face, mind and heart.
I am forever grateful for the lessons you have been teaching all of us.
I have understood Korean language better than before. I've been following your techniques ever since and i am getting the hang of it. Thank you infinitely Miss Vicky.
No Thank you is not enough to appreciate your hard work but I'll pray for you, you don't even know how much it means to us really we are so blessed to have a great teacher like you..hwaiting🌼✨
감사합니다 💕 i found learning batchim difficult until i watched your series of batchim, it’s less difficult and easier to understand.
I wanna know who that one person who disliked this was. This video is very helpful. Thank you~~~~ ^^
there are 3 now, maybe they're the ones who give up leraning korean lol😂
It also cold be you 😁
i guess 72 but the disliked is only 10....
Doulingo disliked
Yes. Definitely.
wow I'm a bit suprised how easy this was for me to understand and remember. IMO the 2nd part of the series was the hardest, honestly. I still can't remember all those rules.
I can understand. I am also struggling 😪
Dw as you go ahead you'll get used to it
You'll need to comeback to review it every few videos as well but the content is presented in a fun way so it's not boring
This took me 3 separate days to fully study this lesson. Well done, Ms. Vicky!
honestly, after the other 받침 videos, this was really easy and did not fry my brain as much. You are truly such an amazing teacher.
Wait how is this easy it was bit difficult to me caz I didn't get the one to how those words combine and the sound.which is that to learn the sound
I am so glad I found your channel & this video series. I will watch again and take notes. As this video went along I started to see the patterns. This is so great, thank you!
WOW this is no doubt the most helpful video I’ve ever find, thank you for making this. I never imagined I can get the hang of Korean alphabet in 30 mins.
This was super helpful on something that was confusing me in other platforms, thank you
Maybe this is the only one video on UA-cam which clearly, I repeat out loud, CLEARLY explains this topic! Well done. You're having my subscription, now!
Now I'm just curious how Koreans *write* these types of words by *hearing* someone (when someone is dictating them)
Like, how do they know whether to use ㅁ or ㄻ
That's what.. 😐
Yea i think abt that too, i guess like maybe the context? since even tho theyre pronounced the same they have different meanings and i guess that when u put it in a sentence one would know which type of word ur talking abt.
Ofc im not sure this is correct
Imagine if someone asked you to write the sentences "Oh dear" and "A deer is in the woods". You would know which spelling of dear/deer to use based on the context, even though they're both pronounced the same.
@@evanseifert8858 oh that's a good example... :)
Hey..they do it the same way differentiate between beer and bear; dear and deer; it also depends on the sentence :)
deym I finished it in just one day the 3 videos this is the lesson Ive been searching for the assimilation that no one is teaching but you my godess thankyou for this I need did to pass the interview to sound like a native speaker thankyou vicky.
I was searching for someone to teach me korean but landed on this channel. Very helpful. Thank you so much
i’ve literally gotten everything i know about korean from you. like i love the way u explain everything
I’m so glad i found this channel… cant believe I know how to read Hangul now… thanks vick!
doing these lessons has actually improved my motivation to do stuff so im super happy about that
This is the first day I followed your lessons. I have learned so much from your video, it is very straightforward and clear. Thank you so much for your time and patient!
it is so interesting how korean guides your tongue to speak instructionally rather than other languages where you have to memorize harsh sounds
OMG! I finished it!
Thank you, Thank you so much!
I just finished the video following you. I have to revise once again to completely insert it to my head.
Thank you so much teacher, you made even the difficult parts easy to understand with examples and clear explanations. I'll study hard.
💜
I love your teaching style because it's very helpful and easy to understand, plus the I like the way you write down the letter or the word because it makes me learn how to write it properly instead of just showing on screen. So thank you so much for all the lessons although I know it's not easy to teach a language even it's your mother tongue I really appreciate your effort.
Thank you so much for this. I just started learning korean and I really, really struggled with 받침. I have some really good textbooks but they didn't explain this very well or very much. Or they made me understand it even less ToT. I started getting really frustrated or thinking I'm just too stupid to get it. This just helped me so much as I finally understood this whole topic. You explain it so great and so easy to understand. Well, as easy as korean can be (>o
I rarely leave comments on videos but I just had to write one here to tell you how amazingly helpful your videos are and what a wonderful teacher you are. Thank you thank you thank you!
AHHHH 너무 감사랍니다 선생님!!! i really waited for your videos bc they're more understandable!!! thank you so much ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
Thank you for this super useful lesson
i want to say, this is the best platform to start your journey.
Vicky you are amazing!!! Take a bow!!!! I am new to this but gosh you make it interesting and easy understand, easily my fav teacher. I have seen some teachers on youtube with videos that are so boring that I usually stop very early but you definitely kept me interested until the end. Thanks a million.
I'm glad that I found this channel. Now I can learn Korean a lot easier.
i keep commenting this on your videos but its insane how you make them so easy to understand , thank you so much again for teaching us all this for free
this nearly fried my brain but thank you so much!!!
Lol.. 😂
I watched your 3 lessons about 받침 and this time 받침 100% clear for me .
Thank you very much for your great effort.
Really leaning korean with you is so much fun😆. Thank you so much💕❤️
the longest it took for me to understand and learn was consonant assimilation video, not only it was hard but also quite long but it was so well explained and detailed. Believe me I learned so much and my pronounciation is so much better than my peers who are taking a korean class with a korean teacher on zoom. I get alot of praises from Korean Sir too yay🎉 감사합니다 빅키 성생님🙇🏻♀️
That makes me so happy! Great job finishing the lessons and keep up the good work!😊
안녕하세요! First of all, I am very much greatful to you for making these kinds of Korean language learning videos as it helped me improve so much as a beginner (I started learning a month ago btw). Anyways, here are the KEY POINTS that I kind of noticed as I was watching your video:
1. The 'Double Final Consonants' where we pronounce the first batchim(?), such as 넋, 않, 핥 and so on and so forth; we could notice that the second consonant (like the ㅌ in the 핥) are all pronounced as 'ㄷ' or 't' if it's put at the final consonant. Wherein in the DFC where we pronounce the second consonant first, it is not 디귿 받침. (I'm not really good at explaining so it may not be as clear as I want it to be but I hope you will still understand.)
2. The second one is for the examples number 24, 31, and 36. You said in your part 2 batchim video that if 리을 is followed by 니은, the 니은 consonant will be pronounced as 리을 because of 'common assimilation' (since as you said, Korean's find it kind of hard to pronounce 'L' and 'N' together) but then in those numbers, you still pronounced it as ㄴ instead of ㄹ so I was kind of uncertain whether or not I can pronounce it as ㄹ (or if it's really pronounced as ㄴ).
3. The last one that I noticed was that Double Consonant is the easiest for me to pronounced because I think that that's how we speak in my country. I'm Filipino btw and the way the Double Consonant is pronounce is also how we usually pronounce letters or words here in the Philippines (What I'm saying here is that we pronounce words without letting out air, unlike when we say ㄱ and ㅋ where air is being let out) Although I'm not entirely sure if we really pronounce like that but at least that's how it is for me.
Thank you very much, once again, for making this video!!!❤
This tutorial video content is helpful to me.
Thank you for these videos, you videos are my favourite in depth ones.
Thank you so much for all of this lessons
I would never thank you enough! these lessons are pure gold❤❤

Soo, I was first learning from apps like Duolingo, drops and learn Korean offline for like 10 days or so, but then I found this in my recommendations and I have started learning Korean from this channel like 6-7 Days and It is so so damn helpful, that duolingo didn't taught me anything, it very hard to study from Duolingo. And Miss Vicky if you are reading this I love you so so so much!

"넋놓고" Thought you were calling me "Younger Brother Nook" as my Thai nickname is Nook, and "Nong" means younger brother. 🤣🤣
감사합니다 💗
Ooo really you are so great..I could learn Korean so fluently ❤️ loving it...
Fascinating. Thank you for sharing! 🪆
Thank you for your explanations, very clear. I hear thou about another combination of final consonants: ㄿ. I heard that ㄹwould be the boss and ㅍwill jump to the next vowel, but in case it is followed by a consonant, ㄹ is not the boss anymore and drops while ㅍ becomes ㅂ. It is a bit strange, and I wonder if the next syllable starts with ㄴ, for instance, then ㅂ may become ㅁ? I have only found 밟다, I wonder if it is just an exception.
Thank you so much for the lesson. I enjoyed and learnt alot . 덤 섭 니 다 💕
Thank you so much for your videos, they are really helpful. I love it. 💕
