Watching this on my graveyard shift -- I've been really enjoying Grixis Shadow in Timeless on Arena, but I've thought about becoming a Shadow gamer in paper, too. I love playing Counterspell in Shadow, and it's just so much more reliable in Dimir. Really looking forward to seeing more of this channel, hoping you can convert me from a Shadow enjoyer to a Shadow player :P

Thanks for taking the time to comment! Hope the videos can be helpful and you’re able to find your way into a nice Modern Shadow build! Probably best to wait until MH3 though, just to be sure it’s still a viable deck by then hahah

@@MurmursMTG you're probably right, haha! All the more reason to stay subbed to you and keep my eyes on the archetype. In the meanwhile, decided to try dropping Lurrus for Tishana's Tidebinder and going in with Dimir Shadow on Timeless, and I've been really pleased with the consistency and power in a very combo-oriented meta. I'll keep my paper investments to the new full art lands and the like until MH3 drops, but I'd love to see how you think the set'll affect the deck once we get a better look at what it'll offer.

What changes will you be making post bans? Glad I found your channel, I'm looking to pivot to a new deck and have a proxies-out dimir DS for testing and have absolutely loved it so far. These videos will be helping a lot too!

Awesome! It’s a fun deck that rewards tight play. Like any deck you’ll have terrible matchups but most feel very even other than Yawg. Not sure exactly how I plan to change the 75 yet. Probably going to wait to see what the meta looks like before making any drastic changes. Chalice can probably come out for now and probably bring in some Yawg or Tron hate depending on which matchup I hate losing to more. I might have some time to play through a challenge on Sunday and have better insight for you then! Hope my content can be of help long term if you do dive into the deck!

Any thoughts on a 5th shock and maybe splashing green for pick your poison? Also dismember vs bitter triumph: i feel like your list has no way to deal with murktides, whats your approach for that matchup without any good removal for it? I‘m currently on dimir shadow with green-splash and often have trouble against the big dragon

Unless the meta really leans that hard into UR Murktide then I’m not too worried about it. Dimir Shadow has a lot of ways to just never let one resolve and, even if it does, Otawara and Borrower are fine answers to just bounce it. I personally dislike a splash when Dimir already has other options available, though. Any edict effect is almost always a viable option against Murktide that doesn’t make mana reliability an issue.
There’s also the 3 Murktides that we have access to that can keep things in check. Bowmasters have really made UR Murktide a much better matchup and an early DRC is typically much more problematic than a mid game Murktide.
