Interesting conversation. I usually cannot focus more than 5 minutes at a time because of my condition but here I was able to listen to 50 minutes without a break.

Dr. Licona you are such an example of how he who knows the truth need not fear no lies. That you can even let some mean and deriding comments stay on your comment section is rare.

He did to Jesus. The Question you need to ask is have you critically evaluated Islam?

It may seem like I have commented something bad but I actually prayed for this gentle men doing all research since he had a pretty face. Still couldn’t find his way out .Because a muslim is not allowed to pray for a non muslim after their death. And yes I also fear death because I’m not done being a good muslim .

@@dr.sweety Hebrews 2:14-18 (ESV): Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 16 For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

@@dr.sweety As a Muslim if you die. You are not certain of heaven. Even Muhammed when asked was not certain Narrated 'Um al-'Ala:
An Ansari woman who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet that the Ansar drew lots concerning the dwelling of the Emigrants. 'Uthman bin Maz'un was decided to dwell with them (i.e. Um al-'Ala's family), 'Uthman fell ill and I nursed him till he died, and we covered him with his clothes. Then the Prophet came to us and I (addressing the dead body) said, "O Abu As-Sa'ib, may Allah's Mercy be on you! I bear witness that Allah has honored you." On that the Prophet said, "How do you know that Allah has honored him?" I replied, "I do not know. May my father and my mother be sacrificed for you, O Allah's Apostle! But who else is worthy of it (if not 'Uthman)?" He said, "As to him, by Allah, death has overtaken him, and I hope the best for him. By Allah, though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me," By Allah, I will never assert the piety of anyone after him. That made me sad, and when I slept I saw in a dream a flowing stream for 'Uthman bin Maz'un. I went to Allah's Apostle and told him of it. He remarked, "That symbolizes his (good) deeds." Since the Books of Matthew and Luke have incompatible Birth of Jesus stories and there are 4 different Resurrection accounts, can we just skip this nonsense?
Yes, if you were born elsewhere, you’d have a great relationship with that deity.

I feel like most of Dr. Licona's work is dedicated to making the case that differences in the gospels (such as the ones you correctly site) aren't a good reason to disbelieve in the Resurrection in particular and Christianity more generally. If we just "skip" listening to that case, how can we know it's not a good one?
Even if we assume the differences like the genealogies in Matthew and Luke prove the gospels aren't inerrant or inspired it doesn't automatically follow that they're historically worthless. I don't know of anyone who thinks my high school history book was perfectly error free, but that doesn't mean I didn't learn a lot of real history in class.

@@colincraft2765 If the Bible cannot even get basic historical information correct, why should we believe any of it’s other claims?
Even the miracles of Jesus are often taken from Greek mythology; The feeding of the 5000 is taken from Homer’s Odyssey (The god Nestor comes ashore, separates the crowd into small groups, then feeds the 4500).
At what point do we admit it is unreliable?

"if you were born elsewhere..." You act like the U.S. is so biblically Christian...lmao what a joke. The dominant culture is secular bordering on anti-Christian. If people are hardcore Bible believing Christians today it's not because of their zip code, sorry

@@rodrogers6895 When you ask " If the Bible cannot even get basic historical information correct, why should we believe any of it’s other claims?" I think this paints with too broad a brush. Since the Bible was written over many years with many different people involved, I don't think we can start by assuming that the Bible is either 100% reliable or 0% reliable with no room in between.
Here's an example of what I mean: As I understand it, the Luke-Acts is well known for getting many details of ancient geography and government correct, but is widely considered to have made a mistake in its mention of the tax census under Quirinius (though Inspiring Philosophy's video "Did Luke Misdate the Census of Quirinius?" discusses an interesting hypothesis). Assuming Luke really is wrong about Quirinius's census, the fact that the other details are correct leads, might lead us to think of Luke-Acts as 85-95% reliable about history; good but not perfect. If that level of reliability carries over to Luke-Act's picture of Jesus and the early church, then I think it gives a lot of material for grounding a basic Christian faith, even if we assume that the Feeding of the 5000 is to the picture of Jesus as the census of Quirinius is to the picture of ancient government.
That being said, when it comes to the Feeding of the 5000 , I personally find the argument from undesigned coincidences between the Synoptics and John (as given by people like Lydia McGrew) pretty convincing. Also, when I looked online for information about Nestor in the Odyssey, the only things I found described him as a king, rather than a god, and didn't mention feeding 4500 people. (For example, the Nestor articles at Wikipedia and GreekMythology.com.) I admit, I know very little about Greek myth. Can you help by pointing me to the relevant portion of the Odyssey, please?

Doubting Christianity... I know Christianity is false. Their concept of a god is a metaphysical impossibility.
