It was always my thoughts that the slugcats got outcompeted by the scavengers and went extinct somewhere between survivor/monk and rivulet. since they're essentially the same nitche and the scavs are obviously better at filling that nitche than scugs ever could be. Rivulet would then be a purposed organism made by an iterator, who already had worked on purposing slugcats. probably nsh or srs. That, or they're just locally extinct around the five pebbles area. Nevertheless scavengers are definitely gonna drive them into extinction in the future. They're just better at the scugs nitche, unfortunately.

With the Unshackled coop mod(which I assume you might already be using due to artificer having the normal breathing capacity), the mod config adds an option that makes rubicon possible for artificer.
Ironically, if the wiki is correct then Artificer is actually the /most/ built for cold of all the slugcats; she inherently produces about a lantern-equivalent of warmth at all times. (You /might/ also be able to warm up a bit crafting bombs and detonating them on yourself? I've never played her in Saint's campaign so I'm not speaking from experience, but I know the cherry bomb plant helps a very small amount, so it'd make sense...)
In saint campaign every few cycles i would do something like throw a rock at lizard over abyss or flash spiders. And ironicly i didn't get saint passage on character named saint

Obama is cool and all, but honestly we don't need teleport magic to have Artificer in the Saint's campaign; if she dies she will simply re-spawn, and creatures who live like that have surely evolved to stop ageing once mature. I doubt she has ascended, and even with that much time it is unlikely to get soft-locked from something like getting a cardiac arrest a few seconds after waking up; so somewhere, in some cycle, Artificer _has_ to be in Saint's campaign.
I've had dead vultures try to kill me before, at the one at the top of Chimney, they really didn't want me to visit that echo. You're never safe in screens where Vultures can exist if there are pits.
funny thing is, you can kill creatures as saint and have it show up in the kill count per cycle spot! in places over bottomless pits you can hit things with rocks, dooming them to the pit & registering as killing them

So i suck at noticing drop wigs half the time and the other half of the time i am hyper aware of them. One time i was riv's campaign and decided to check out pipeyard bcuz i never went there before. I managed to get in a situation where i had to maneuver around a couple drop wigs that i saw, and a handful of other creatures that were trying to kill me as they usually do. I barely managed to escape them and progress and i got so excited that i failed to notice a dropwig hiding in plain fucking sight not even half a room away from the creatures and i died lol
