I think we need a Part 2 about the legend in his own lifetime surfer who posts on social media that HE was the first surfer to discover 'The legendary north east coast of the west coast, it's extremely hard to find' wave...
I was an extra in a film about a marathon, and there was indeed a dude whose job was to spritz us all between takes to keep us looking covered in sweat
Gotta have the hipster beanie when wave hunting. That’s the hardest thing about surfing is the fashion, I spent all my money on knee length board shorts and singlets now can’t afford the current op shop homeless style clothing and I don’t look like everyone else at manu bay!
@@RaglanSurfReport haha sorry yeah I know it’s for raglan NZ, was more referring to the channel but also don’t know what else to call ya! But now I do thanks Luke!! Keep up the great work :)
A true social comment, on the pro surfers diappearing up their own arse to please a sponsor and get on an all expenses paid surf trip, no matter the bullshit they have to spew!
You are not wrong there. My favourite thing is that everyone talks about it like this connection with the nature and the ocean but everyone behaves like a selfish arsehole 😂😂😂
@@RaglanSurfReport I surfed Ulu in 1979 ,,along with plenty of other people. Australians surfed it in the early 70's.. Lopez surfed Ulu in 1975 in the film Chasing the Lotus. I surfed G land in 1982 , and I know that Lopez had been there well before me.
@@Leo555ZZZ my uncle was actually with Garry Lopez when he first discovered Ulus, he told me on his death bed that it was definitely ’89 when they found it, reckons outside corner was bombing 12-15 foot and perfect! They surfed it for 3 days straight and had to leave after their boards had washed out to sea, that’s what gave my uncle the idea to invent the leg rope!
Another chunk of gold. Thanks, Luke
No, thank you for watching
@@RaglanSurfReportthank u for giving my son an opportunity to explore the outdoors

The legendary north east coast of the west coast, it's extremely hard to find.
Shippies faces NE, maybe that's the secret legendary wave he speaks of?
Kongs Island ?
Beautiful authentic artwork

Dave Rastovich just left the chat
(every time pro surfers visit Canada)
That’s pretty much what inspired this haha
@@RaglanSurfReport Nice! You nailed it, especially the trail next to the car park
Same when they go to northern California/Oregon. Must have flannel, beard and extra tuffs or it's not a valid "discovery"
Veeeery nice videeeeo, mate!!! Are you working on a second episode??? Cant wait to see you ripping that bad boy wave!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Nah, I’m not going outside again, too dodgy
This needed to be made and we all know it haha.

Lopez was at Ulu in the 70's , not late 80's.
Not that it matters.
Nah, he found Bali in 70’s, Ulus in ‘89 just after he’d first surfed G-Land
Must be the 70s.... I remember the bell bottom wetsuits
