Nice work and trick for the joining the two different metals. It looks like you use the same flux for the aluminum and copper welds. Does the aluminum weld similar to the copper; it looks like the aluminum could be destroyed easy with the oxygen/acetylene torch setup from to much heat. Thanks for the video
Frank Lowe I agree I have same problem with my fridge and they keep charging me for gas and Compresor and.....and ... This man knows his job Where can I get someone in jhb to do this
I like so much your video am still learning more from you I don't have more experience , i like to ask something from you I have fixed the the fridge and is working just freezer but the fridge site is not cold?
I have a Defy D 380 which is leaking gas slowly. I now have a 1kg bottle of R134 permanently attached to the fridge and every 3 or so days have to give a burst of gas to keep the fridge cold. I have tested the external joints with a washing soap mix and they are OK so the leak must be somewhere internal. A friend of mine had a similar problem and ended up tearing out all the foam to find the piping. From this video I see you carved out foam in seemingly targeted areas suggesting you know where the pipes run. Is there a design format that Defy follow so that I can do as you have above and carve out particular areas to get to the piping? Many thanks
On that particular model I don't repair internal gas leaks, I write them off. I know of somebody who does. He removes all the foam from behind on the internal cold plate which is just steel tubes and replaces it with an aluminium cold plate and covers with foam again. We find it not to be cost effective.
Great video, you remind me of myself, no hiss piss about shit, Your a get the no nonsense, job done, done properly type of guy, End product may look rough, but would you like to buy a new fridge or have a little scar after surgery, unfortunately some people can not afford a new appliance, this isn't a cupcakes and unicorns sort of job, Once again great video, hope your still around. One question "What was the brand of rust protector were you using" thank you in advance, 😀
I wish you were near me, because Im being told to throw ny Beautiful $3600 refrigerator away, because No one wants to fix the slow internal leak, because of the foam incasing the tubes.
