  • Can a beginner rider enjoy Morzine?
    The answer is undoubtably YES, and with a regular years worth of descending done in a week holiday there is no faster way to accelerate your riding progression.
    This is the ultimate guide for your first day in the Portes du Soleil area. Join this epic, fully lift-assisted ride through three of the four main resorts covered by the lift pass: Morzine, Les Gets, and Avoriaz. We'll explore mostly green trails with a few optional blues, all with virtually no climbing.
    The edit is on the long side so you can see as much detail of the trails and route as possible to give you the best possible feel for what its like to spend a day in this amazing biking paradise.
    So grab a brew, sit back and enjoy the ride then get yourself booked on the trip of a lifetime.
    I stayed with ‪@AtlasRideCo‬ on one of there fabulous catered riders week which are incredible value for money and have everything a travelling mountain biker needs to take maximise the enjoyment of a MTB holiday.

      It’s a pleasure! I just wanted to show how easy and quick it is to get between resorts as it’s easy to get stuck in one area for fear of time or energy needed to get around the entire area. I hope you have a great time!

      @@MindfulTrailBiker Just out of interest. Was there any lifts to avoid due to long queues? I've seen that TSZore chair can be a problem. Thanks

      @MindfulTrailBiker  Місяць тому +1

      @theweedrone the super morzine and then zore lift seem to attract the longest queues. I suppose it just depends on the time of day. Other than that most queues aren’t an issue. I didn’t really have any issues as I went very early season.

    Must be a few days after you. Enjoyed the 1st sunny day out on Monday and trails were generally dry. Greens you did were flying.
    Had a couple of trips here 12 years ago. Much better and more organised grading now and much more fun.
    Godd video as normal.

    With the amount of rain we seem to constantly have I doubt the blue from lg to morzine will ever get fully dry

    • @MindfulTrailBiker
      @MindfulTrailBiker  2 місяці тому

      Yeah, it’s gonna take some time to dry out and of some of the ruts will dry in as well so it will need a fair amount of work as well. Such a shame as it’s a great track!

    The weather out there is a funny old thing, there are definitely cycles to it - two years ago when I did my season it was baking hot all summer and it only rained one or two days in three months, but the year before it was much like this season appears to have started out; just constantly wet.

      Indeed, think I’ve been 4 times and had a mix of baking hot and sporadic torrential downpours. Defo mountain weather!

    Great guide! We are going for the 1st time and just bought the tickets for the bikeparks.
    We need to collect the cards in Chatel but you mentioned that this area is steeper and would be best to leave it for the end of the trip.
    I wonder if taking the Pierre-Longe chairlift in Chatel we can link to the other uplifts of Seraussaix and Proclou to reach the green trails.
    Thanks!

      Yes. If you take the 2 lifts out of chatel bike park you can ride the chesery blue trial down to the Lindaret bowl. Then take the prolays lift to the top of avoriaz and your st the point where I’m chatting about chatel so can pick up the avoraiz greens. Hope that helps 👍

    Been to Morzine once for a week. Never again. Unimaginative trails (berm central), zero local culture feel (basically expensive poor man’s resort full of English lads), weather is often bad too (it rained heavy half of the time I was there)

      @@spartanmtb2640 I’m a poor English lad so I fit in just fine. Can’t agree on the trails. Plenty work gone in and each resit has its own feel so plenty variety.

      I've been there in 2022/2023 and I've never had issues with bad weather and it is inexpensive compared to Whistler. If you don't believe me when I say it is inexpensive, I am from South Africa and our currency is 20 for 1 Euro. You probably also just didn't know what trails to ride or where to go because it is most definitely not berm central. The perks of going to Morzine is the fact that you have access to: Chatel, Les Gets, Champery, Mont Chery, Pleney, SuperMorzine, Avoriaz, Morgins all through the chair lifts. If you think these trails are "berm central" idk what to tell you.

      Exactly this! If you're from the UK, just go to any of the welsh bikeparks with uplift. They have better trails and its much cheaper to get to
