One thing Tuba clarified about pm revealing tpows. If the pm reveals them, they can't be guessed. However, if the tpow reveals while they are illuminated, it completely removes the effect and rit can hit them

They just hate 3rd team games. Solo Apocalypse before made people d/c due to how hard it is to win... Now those that do that will hate the apocalypse even more.
In my opinion, AA should have the Four Horseman mode enabled, but I think it's otherwise acceptable for, say, Ranked. Ranked forcing a solo apoc is acceptable. This allows them to slot 2 RNs rather than using an RN and an NE slot, which allows the possibility of 2 NKs or 2 NEs, just to keep things from being *too* predictable.
Deputy animation should still be in. In BToS2, it just said, "A Deputy has fired their revolver!" instead of naming the player and didn't reveal the Deputy to the town.
some of the changes are interesting, other might take getting some used to, but the only thing i think was a bad change is making Neutral Apocalypse mutually exclusive in All Any mode, like pipe said it's tough winning as solo apoc and people will just leave way more often now if they get an apoc role

True, my only solo apoc win wasn't technically solo, the pb visited the vet N1 and then I was just chilling as SC while the evil-heavy town slaughtered each other super quick. The finale was me vs. 2 shrouds and I convinced one of them that I was the 2nd shroud so he hung his mate. However, I got super unlucky with tavs and guessing badly so I STILL had to wait 2 nights to transform and win because of basic defense!

Doesnt require you to think at all: just be town's pet and pray that you will successfully win in a RNG game. The unstoppable attack and super RB is a cherry on top that makes Pirate absolutely idiotic. Even pre-rework deputy or exe didnt come close the level of stupidity that Pirate has.
Restricting Horsemen to 1 per game without any Baker buffs feels real bad. I get that 4 Apoc is too strong, I've ridden the coattails of 3 other apocs while providing moral support as Baker before, but Baker is *not strong enough* to be a solo role. If they limited Apoc to 2 per game, that could be fun, but Always Solo Baker is gonna feel like the role list just hates you.
tbh baker and SC are like hightly IQ test to solo and I feel like they happen alot more than the devs think its unlikely to be solo beserker than being solo baker
I don’t think spy will be as bad as you think as long as the bugs still last until they are triggered. Unlike old investigator, you don’t have to guess exactly which night they’ll be visited on.

Not true at all. At official Reddit thread, official discord server, Tuba’s server, BTOS2 server, Pipe’s server you will never get banned for expressing your opinion. I am checking BTOS2 and official server suggestions a lot, and despite it having a lot of bad suggestions, as long as you complied to suggestion rules (no joke suggestions, no bumps, etc.) you won’t get banned for saying that smth is worse in your opinion. Also yeah, when you post in a suggestion threat that something sucks without a fix for it, ofc you are going to get punished. They are called SUGGESTIONS after all. There are special channels in official discord server called game feedback or smth like that. There you can express your negative opinions whatever way you want.

Two changes that I think this needs: Jester: For the Chatterbox mechanic, it probably needs to be between 0 and 4 instead of 1 and 4. It would suck to "confirm" someone is not a Jester because they didn't speak during Day 2 and lived. Illuminate: A townie revealing their role should wipe illuminate. i.e. If the Potion Master reveals a Mayor, causing illuminate to occur... but then the next day the Mayor decides to reveal anyway... then I think the Ritualist should be allowed to target them. Same should apply to any other roles that can publically reveal.

Did Spy just get nerfed into the ground? Poisoner devolved into Smoker. Medusa can stone gaze their allies... why? I get the idea of hiding what your other coven were, but this just opens up Medusa to stone gazing their entire team. Solo Baker is very unlikely to win, plaguebearer, soul collector and berserker have better odds, but at some point your going to leave because of how unlikely it is to get a win. Retri plus Deputy is going to be a thing now.
Spy wasn’t nerfed that badly. In BTOS2 (the spies in BTOS2 and Vanilla are basically identical), Spy does have some new uses as it can detect some things that insta confirm townies and that the old Spy couldn’t. Example: SC reaps Cleric, Spy sees Cleric as an evil role.
I am not very fond of the Executioner rework because it guts the total freedom you have on who you wish to make your target AND I AM A DUDE WITH 25 EXE WINS, having lynched town, coven, neutrals, jesters and horsemen. So I am moving on and not looking back now.
TOS2 started off with a lot of big and poorly tested changes (like Exe rework), if anything these changes should've happened sooner. And it's not like they just want to go back to TOS1, Pirate is entirely different now, Jester has to actually play, e.t.c.

they also needed to bring back the social deduction part of the game that had kind of been power crept away. Slower games means TI's are more important and TPows/TKs are slightly less dominant.

Spy should still be able to see passive effects like hexed, doused etc., not known effects like roleblocked, attacked but lived, etc. This way they're not stuck to the percept mechanic
I dont think Poisoner got a full nerf if anything you'll see them fake claim socialite if the player isn't notified that they're got smog, but need to play it first to compare
yes, that was the point of the change. Making it harder to auto-confirm as Socialite and allowing Poisoner to fake the role while also giving a reason to stay as Poisoner. The Season 3 meta (that the devs wanted to remove) was Poisoner using Poison N1 and then CL changing them to Ritualist
Removing AFK jester strategy is the best change Devs have ever made since the Mayor nerf in TOS 1 for ranked. It was a stupid meta strat to begin with, glad it's gone.
I really don’t like the chatter box change on jester. I think it’s going to make it annoying to play and easier to fake claim. If I’m WW or a tpow, I’ll just spam 4 messages at the start of the day and then go silent
AFK jester strat was and always has been a stupid meta play that should never have existed. Glad devs are making this change but it really needs to be 0-4 messages so you can't auto confirm people as not jesters if they don't talk day 2.
Yes! Finally Pirates no longer get free wins! My prayers have been answered at last! It will be interesting trying out some of these changes, though I'm a bit sad about the Vigi nerf, and Rit too to be honest, although I understand why they nerfed the Rit + PM combo. Jester Chatterbox is a bit of a mixed bag for me, I like that it forces Jesters to participate instead of just AFKing when low on the list during a VFA, but on the other hand it might make them be TOO blatant once the meta settles.
I feel that this change will be changed back or adjusted very quickly. It should AT LEAST scale with the number of players still alive. Like it gets obvious when you're on the final few, everyone is quiet except the one dude who keeps sending 4 messages every day.
I just hope we get more minor changes more often. Waiting for the end of the ranked season takes too long Not in love with the Executioner changes ngl, I definitely think it needed a change but now it's just anti-town, losing the Neutral part of the Neutral Evil and it makes it feels out of line with the rest of the Neutral Evils
So for the players that play on vc, jester is basically close to unplayable. Edit: and to an extend, Executioner is unplayable too thanks to going back to the classic TOS, which in my opinion destroys exe’s individuality in the sequel.

Seems like town REALLY winning this patch. Removal of hangman and deputy no longer able to friendly fire let’s town keep voting maj for much longer, illuminate slows down coven pick off roles (and just generally a lot of coven roles besides necro got their impact reduced), apocalypse is now generally always solo (and can be spotted by sheriff if not solo), NEs are nerfed by losing defense, oracle is a bluff-proof TP, really the only W evils got was necro change and wildling inheriting the lookout buff. Really loving the exe change though, old version was such a degenerate role by punishing town for making correct plays and voting out exposed evils, now the punishment is effective for the whole town (instead of some random single person) and is only inflicted on a bad vote. Love it!
@@ByzanQueen That's what I kind of liked about pirate though, it played a bit differently than any of the other evil roles and wasn't an instant enemy of town. I do get how this makes them more NE than before but I dunno, feels weird to change it entirely after so long.
I think they should have given the pirate the incentive to duel important targets, something like needing 3 wins but wins on town/coven power count as double
I am already 100% sure that it’s the best rework yet. People are saying quote: “We want more social deduction!”, “We want the game to be balanced!”, yet these same AA players say that Pirate change is awful or that they hate it. What was the pirate pre update? No skill, no social deduction, rng based evil role that can just side with town. You can get unlucky the entire game or win N2 no matter how skilled or engaged you are.
The only problem I have is, As a newer tos2 player. It’s really stressful taking all this new information and update. I feel like it’s too much for newer players

As confirmed in another comment. getting silenced will put the Chatterbox requirement to 0 Which begs the question why they didn't make it adjust based on number of players alive, because most of my games, once the numbers start dwlindling, Activity also drops, which means less talking, making it obvious if someone keeps sending 4 messages each day. Should maybe make it lower. Or if in any way possible make it observe the lobby activity and adjust the number of messages for how active the lobby is talking.
Not a fan of the Apoc, Spy and Exe reworks tbh. And it kind of sucks that this is happening right after I started playing TOS2 more but it is what it is 😭

It has everything-jester TI hanging a townie, then getting hanged as an exe target, townies visiting the known veteran, a failed rit getting shot by dep, only for the dep to get conj… I can’t believe it ended up being a solo-PB win, before they could even become Pestilence!
@Figgy20000 d3, pros and mon were out already when tribunal, jailor had only jailed one person who was super sus. I think they ended up being bers too. Town still won w/3 tpows, but it was closer than it needed to be

Quick correction, Deputy still has it's animation, you just don't know who is taking the shot.*

I think poisoner could be interesting for one thing: I don’t understand if they’re removing RBs or just poison, but if you can target your own coven and claim jailor would be interesting
Only removed Poison.
Spy should still be able to see passive effects like hexed, doused etc., not known effects like roleblocked, attacked but lived, etc. This way they're not stuck to the percept mechanic
I dont think Poisoner got a full nerf if anything you'll see them fake claim socialite if the player isn't notified that they're got smog, but need to play it first to compare
yes, that was the point of the change. Making it harder to auto-confirm as Socialite and allowing Poisoner to fake the role while also giving a reason to stay as Poisoner. The Season 3 meta (that the devs wanted to remove) was Poisoner using Poison N1 and then CL changing them to Ritualist

- Uncaps the Tpow limit
- Does not buff the Apocs to account for forced solo gameplay

I really don’t like the chatter box change on jester. I think it’s going to make it annoying to play and easier to fake claim. If I’m WW or a tpow, I’ll just spam 4 messages at the start of the day and then go silent
AFK jester strat was and always has been a stupid meta play that should never have existed. Glad devs are making this change but it really needs to be 0-4 messages so you can't auto confirm people as not jesters if they don't talk day 2.
I follow TOS2 like in and out, but heard there was a patch and was absolutely flabbergasted to see this

It will be interesting trying out some of these changes, though I'm a bit sad about the Vigi nerf, and Rit too to be honest, although I understand why they nerfed the Rit + PM combo. Jester Chatterbox is a bit of a mixed bag for me, I like that it forces Jesters to participate instead of just AFKing when low on the list during a VFA, but on the other hand it might make them be TOO blatant once the meta settles.
Also 4 messages Max. feels too low for a lot of scenarios
I feel that this change will be changed back or adjusted very quickly.
It should AT LEAST scale with the number of players still alive.
Like it gets obvious when you're on the final few, everyone is quiet except the one dude who keeps sending 4 messages every day.

I like the suggestion that it be 0-4 messages so you can't just auto confirm someone as "not jester" day 2

Not in love with the Executioner changes ngl, I definitely think it needed a change but now it's just anti-town, losing the Neutral part of the Neutral Evil and it makes it feels out of line with the rest of the Neutral Evils

Ehhhhh, many of these changes sound lame. Why blend in aspects of ToS 1 when the whole point of ToS 2 was to shake up the stale formula of the first game?
Seems like town REALLY winning this patch. Removal of hangman and deputy no longer able to friendly fire let’s town keep voting maj for much longer, illuminate slows down coven pick off roles (and just generally a lot of coven roles besides necro got their impact reduced), apocalypse is now generally always solo (and can be spotted by sheriff if not solo), NEs are nerfed by losing defense, oracle is a bluff-proof TP, really the only W evils got was necro change and wildling inheriting the lookout buff.
Really loving the exe change though, old version was such a degenerate role by punishing town for making correct plays and voting out exposed evils, now the punishment is effective for the whole town (instead of some random single person) and is only inflicted on a bad vote. Love it!
I don't have too many issues with this, but why change the pirate?
Pirate was too easy to get free wins with before, and when not free was dependent on essentially random chance.
@@ByzanQueen That's what I kind of liked about pirate though, it played a bit differently than any of the other evil roles and wasn't an instant enemy of town.
I do get how this makes them more NE than before but I dunno, feels weird to change it entirely after so long.
I think they should have given the pirate the incentive to duel important targets, something like needing 3 wins but wins on town/coven power count as double
I don't like Apoc solo or that Jest/Exe are a lot less chaotic but otherwise these changes seem super interesting!
Need to see games with new Pirate to be sure about that change.

I am already 100% sure that it’s the best rework yet. People are saying quote: “We want more social deduction!”, “We want the game to be balanced!”, yet these same AA players say that Pirate change is awful or that they hate it. What was the pirate pre update? No skill, no social deduction, rng based evil role that can just side with town. You can get unlucky the entire game or win N2 no matter how skilled or engaged you are.
The reworks seem to be more for a competitive ranked system

No, chatterbox requirement changes to 0 for that day if silenced. Would be a killer way to hide as jest. Do not claimed silenced, just did not speak that day.
As confirmed in another comment. getting silenced will put the Chatterbox requirement to 0
Which begs the question why they didn't make it adjust based on number of players alive, because most of my games, once the numbers start dwlindling, Activity also drops, which means less talking, making it obvious if someone keeps sending 4 messages each day. Should maybe make it lower.
Or if in any way possible make it observe the lobby activity and adjust the number of messages for how active the lobby is talking.

@Figgy20000 d3, pros and mon were out already when tribunal, jailor had only jailed one person who was super sus. I think they ended up being bers too. Town still won w/3 tpows, but it was closer than it needed to be
