I honestly don't know why they removed it. It was absurd but I have to admit it had some niche situational uses. 950 rpm is negligibly different from 750 IMO to ever bother using.
@@Idontevenwanachannel They envisioned the HMG to be the full auto version of the AMR. They both have the same armor penetrate stat, you get full auto but slightly lower damage per bullet. Best way to use it is to lower its fire rate to 450 and use it like an auto precision rifle. For spray and pray the standard machine gun is still the best.
@@Misfiring89 I believe they changed the recoil to be more manageable and buffed it a bit. Atleast with the 30% recoil modifier from armor and when crouching/prone it's very usable in full auto now even at the higher RPM values
The way the gun is currently balanced makes it unfun to use ie : recoil +small mags + horrible reload + ammo issues = not fun , Give it a backpack that holds a long belt of ammo like a minigun and more ammo so that its only real down side is controlling the recoil and it uses a backpack slot. Fix the reticle and allow 3rd person shooting. gun has wild recoil but the long belt makes you feel like rambo.
I run the supply backpack and heavy armor. Basically yeah I get shot in the reload but I'm built to take it and come up from the fire like a Phoenix and take em all

It has the same maneuverability of stubborn donkey, the magazine of an AR, despite being a HMG but having a magazine count of of a DE, the reload is so slow that you can bake a cake, brew a tea and come back halfway thru it, i pick this weapon when i'm bored and want a challenge myself.
The no cross hair from third person sucks. There is a armor that helps control recoil but that's only when prone and crouching... Should also have standing too IMO at least form lmgs.
@jonhack2585 my honest problem with the gun is not the recoil, but rather how slow it turns. You can learn where the center of your screen is, and roughly shoot there and adjust using tracers of your bullets, but the time it takes for the gun to actually aim for that center when you turn left and right makes it a huge pain to use in CQC.
Main thing I don't like besides the obvious glacially long reload speed is it's optic has no zoom making hitting distant small targets or weak points outside of spraying on prone very difficult, if it had at minimum what the Dominator has with it's magnified red dot things would be so much easier.

imo really slept on gun from last update. If it got a reload speed buff it'd be one of my go-to support weapons.
I use the HMG with stabilization armor. Proned with a rocket turret and you’re wrecking anything. Also usually at the 450rpm setting.

That armor passive helps with recoil even when standing. Granted, HMG doesn't care either way as it's recoil is absurd even when prone lol.

Of note, while you claim it has a 7.2s empty reload, it seems to share a 4.5s partial reload with the MMG, just thought I'd mention that.
Needs more ammo per belt to be decent imo.
