It's been 30 years since Nike first introduced the Tiempo series to the World, but it was only in the last year that it's seen the biggest change! A change so drastic, that I would argue most fans of the series have abandoned it entirely! But not because the Legend 10 Elite is a bad pair of football boots, but because they're the football boots nobody wanted. Or at least that's what many think.
In today's video we take a closer look at the latest 30th anniversary "Emerald" colorway of the Legend 10 Elite, along with discussing who these football boots are actually for. They're without a doubt not the Tiempos that everyone was hoping for, but they might be exactly the boots for you if you looked at them a little differently. Do you like the Legend 10?

I just hate that Nike makes a cheaper product and trys to convince us that it’s “high tech” or “innovative”. It’s clearly a move for higher profits.
I’ve said the same exact thing for many years now. Evil corporate greed
the materials are cheaper and less quality but they charged the same price. Also agree the fit is narrow.
These go on sale pretty frequently, i got my elites for 50% off which is less than MSRP of the pros

Nike Premier sales went through the roof after Tiempo was butchered and moved away from K-leather caused Nike to delay changing premier from leather. Straight from head of Nike sales in UK
Would you be able to source it? I definitely believe people started gearing towards the Premier. I was one of them.
I have slightly wide feet and the Nike Tiempo Legend 10 Pro is the best boot I've ever worn. They're wide enough for me (snug fit). There are other boots that fit me well too (eg. Puma Future Match), but Tiempo Legend 10 Pro is the only boot that never gave me any hotspots/blister issue, not even on day one.
Just got one, and it's actually a really good synthetic boot. It's a modern CTR360 with a Tiempo name, that's all. Besides it looks better than a leader boot.
Ive been using tiempos since 2008 , my fav are Tiempo 7 and the Magistas 2 Obra. I have pretty wide feet and a high forefoot... and always love
K-Leather for that reason.... and these Tiempo 10s have exceeded my expectations. I live and play in Hawaii and these are perfect for here, the touch and feel on the ball are almost the same, they are a bit more narrow but it stretches enough and keeps you secure... I do wish they made a wide option just for more comfortability

Might buy a Legend 10 if one hit's the clearance oitlet and is 60% off but I just bought a lot of leather tiempos which will last me for the rest of my playing "career"

Done the same with the Legend 9 too. Both have crap durability though.

Not really the first time without a kangaroo upper for Tiempo..Nike did with the kangalite upper on the elite series with carbon sole plate notably during world cup 2010
They did make did do that for the Elite series option that year, but that was offered alongside the normal Legend 3 which was kangaroo leather. This is the first time there has not been a leather Tiempo available at all. The same criticism of the Legend 10 could be made about the Legend 3 Elite, solid boots, just not a Tiempo in terms of feel.
The design is fire
Aesthetically I think they're great looking boots! The wavy grid embossed in the upper looks really good IMO
Hey guys quick question.
1. I need new boots. Ones that are comfortable and ones that don’t give blisters.
2. I love the socks for ankle support.
3. I don’t mind getting the top model. Even if it’s a different year model.
What do you suggest?
Phantom Luna 2 Elite is probably my personal favorite mid-cut boot at the moment
NB Tekela v4+ most comfortable boot I’ve had. It did give me some friction on the heal but it’s easy to fix just put Vaseline on the heal before you play for 2ish weeks and it’ll stop giving blisters even without vaseline

I wouldn’t say it’s a matter of better or worse, they’re almost exactly the same. Pro is the way to go if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck
HUGE FAN of the Legend 10 BUT ⚠️ beware that this anniversary colorway (blue or white) is a touch more padded and thicker than the standard normal color way. I just came back from playing in my brand new anniversary blue color way and i find the feel on feet is noticeably more padded than the standard colorways of the legend 10 (I have a standard pair in white red and another pair in blue purple). Just beware before you purchase your own pair

@@valentinjrplaton7430 no not at all but in long run it’s better with the fg, my studs atleast after 6 months gets run down a few millimetres so they got a little bit short, but I it doesn’t really matter in ag it’s just preference really

The tiempo legend 10 is a great pair but will maintain the opinion that the boots are more of a continuation of the ctr360 or magista opus 1/2(version 2)

is the toe box in the vapors wider than the tiempos? i have the tiempos and they pinch my toes a bit too much.
nah, Vapor 15s have a pretty tight toebox. They break in nicely but out the box it’s gonna be uncomfortable, they squeeze your feet a fair bit

I would say they're pretty similar in width to the Mercs overall. Mercs probably aren't wider, but I don't think they're any more narrow either. Generally if you don't like the tighter fit through the toes, these or Mercs wouldn't be a great choice.

Here’s the thing with these boots. If you’re of the older generation 30+ you don’t like these cause they aren’t leather. If you’re a younger kid coming up, you love these cause they are great. Just not great as a tiempo. My son plays mls-next and loves the AG version, they are his favorite
30+ that has only used leather till today and i like these. If they haven't had awful durability and a bit more aggressive fg stud pattern, they'd be almost perfect for me.
But they are remakes of the old 360s

Hey Josh. I’ve been a fan of yours since you’ve started - all the way from Melbourne, Australia (circa non-speaking, play-test videos, someone stole your ball VuJo Josh). But I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t acknowledge any of the cosmetic differences in this anniversary edition - the texture, the colour, not even the string bag. I feel that you were perhaps overly negative towards the Tiempo, when this particular edition is to celebrate 30 years. Thoughts?
The embossed pattern change in the upper has no noticeable impact on fit, feel or performance. I should addressed it directly in the video, but I didn't because of the lack of performance differences. It's also not exactly a limited edition release. They're available in multiple stud pattern options, as well as takedown models, with no premium on the retail price. They do look a little different, better I would argue, but they feel exactly the same. Thanks for all of your support over the years!

If you are a Boot head you'll cop anyeway, if you aren't I recommend you do for the fact that it goes against the grain from a Tiempo heritage stand point and that in itself will make this boot stand out even more than it does when it's long gone from the shelfs. You'll want it even more in the next few years and regret not getting a pair.

I’m a boot nerd but these are boots that I don’t think I’ll regret passing off. Only bought it because I love the tiempos and heard it’s similar to the ctr360. Sadly what you’re saying is wrong in my opinion. Even with a material change it hasn’t stand out but rather make it look like a generic synthetic leather boot that people only buy because it’s comfortable
You could make the same argument if Nike slapped a Swoosh on a clown costume

what nike should just do is cycle the tiempo and ctr360 every 2-3 years. Call this the ctr360 masteri 4 and then in 2025/2026 give us a leather tiempo
I like the new tiempo. I know leather is more comfortable and all, but I like the durability of synthetic. Tends to last a lot longer than leather and I don’t like having to buy new cleats every year

You're not wrong, but the Preds haven't been made from leather since 2011, so the latest model not being leather, while I do think that would have made them better for sure, wasn't anywhere near as controversial as the Tiempo going from leather to synthetic after 29 years.
Maybe its the financial debts nike is trying to remedy by lowering their production cost of the tiempo by no longer using leather, but all their marketing BS will not convince actual players of these pieces of garbage. Just call them CTR's. K leather is king. Nike premiers are better. Mizuno stock has risen. Nike, if you are smart you will go back to K leather or fall with your marketing BS. 🤷♂️

why nobody wants them has a reason; they are not good. On the paper yes, cheep material and very narrow
Lots of younger people want them. My son and his friends love them and we live in a wet place (the Pacific Northwest) where leather boots are impractical during the wet winters.
