Even if they weren’t rivals, there are still schools that have an entire student section at every game. When I was in hs, our student section went to every game but one which was 11 hours away. Anything less than 5 hours, they went to. Just school pride and making the event enjoyable enough to keep people coming

Most NFL players say High School Football was their favorite time in life. When you play in environments like this for YOUR hometown team, nothing will ever beat it. Grow up a Bears fan then play for the Packers, just not the same.

Literally lol My school in Washington State one year was 22nd in the country national rank handpicked a little town in Camas WA but oh boy everyone showed up to watch them wowsers they were good.
I attended football games while my son was in the HS marching band and was seated with the band as a volunteer nurse and definitely saw how excited everyone became especially when the rivalry between the cheer teams or band started ramping it up.

This is our goal as cheerleaders. The student section is always the best. But there is always that one person who tells people to quiet down at a football game.
My school is like this, but whenever it hits halftime and the dance line, twirlers and band play, they all go to the concession stand. It's disappointing for the band because we don't get near enough attention like the football boys do and we work so hard. At least that's what it's like for my school.
I’m sorry about that, at our school we go fricken crazy with our band mainly the drummers. We all sit during halftime performance and then at the end the drummers come up to the student section and we go crazy until the game starts back up so hopefully your school can adopt something like that 😅
At my school after we won state in marching band, students would watch the band, before they would chit chat and do other things and be on their phones.
I remember games like these especially rivalries when the mayor and city council would be at our games. That atmosphere is just on a different level and everybody’s hyped up and nervous

Check out "The Pit" at Elder High School. 10,000 plus seat cement bowl stadium built by students, faculty and alumni back in the 30's. They had to stop construction during WW2 and completed it in 1946 after the war . USA TODAY listed it as one of the 10 best high school football stadiums in America. It's where Kyle Rudolph went to high school. Several rivalry games are standing room only with over 11K in the stadium. That does not include the party deck and rooftops that people watch from in the surrounding neighborhood. It's certainly an experience.
I looked up Elder HS, in Cincinnati. There was a sea of purple at the games. Even more amazing is the school building. The architecture is beautiful, that was an era when buildings were designed to please the eye. Hope it never gets torn down.

This is my high school!!!! it was our first game of the season, playing against our biggest rivals, because our schools are both on the same street. AND WE WON
in my town, there are basically two halves who are rivals and when they play eachother is a ginormous stadium like 3 or 4 times bigger than that, really famous players sometimes come, and like the entire town goes not just high schoolers. It’s a *big* deal 😭
As a marching band kid, our student section is always crazy and they surprisingly always cheer us on almost as much as they do the football team. It's actually really wholesome
25 years ago, every friday night in the Fall, it was like this. In junior high and high school the whole town showed up to support the youngsters in football and the band performance, the drill team, the cheerleaders, etc. We won District Champs every year. But then in the early 2000s something happened, being physically fit fell to the wayside and video games were more important. A lot has changed.
When south high plays north high in my town you can hear the crowd 10 blocks away. I imagine this is a cross town rivalry game and that's why both teams packed the stands.

As a marching band kid, our student section is always crazy and they surprisingly always cheer us on almost as much as they do the football team. It's actually really wholesome

25 years ago, every friday night in the Fall, it was like this. In junior high and high school the whole town showed up to support the youngsters in football and the band performance, the drill team, the cheerleaders, etc. We won District Champs every year. But then in the early 2000s something happened, being physically fit fell to the wayside and video games were more important. A lot has changed.

When south high plays north high in my town you can hear the crowd 10 blocks away. I imagine this is a cross town rivalry game and that's why both teams packed the stands.
