You're right! The TWSBI Eco has a "western" nib. The nibs are made by JoWo

I have one arriving today, and while I don't have high expectations, I hope I enjoy it a bit more than you have! I do enjoy the retro look, and in general I like the Midori aesthetic (I love their notebooks), so I got one for those reasons. I generally enjoy ivory-colored items. The downturned nib also looks interesting. I do wish it didn't feel cheap, but again, I'm not going in with high expectations.

@@IratherservetheLord Sure! I have the pen inked now and I'm enjoying it. I have a really wet ink in it (Diamine Writer's Blood) so that may be a factor in how nicely it writes. I do not agree that it feels really cheap; it's clearly an inexpensive pen but I don't find it so lightweight that it feels junky. I watched another reviewer who said that some international converters fit better than others and found this to be true. I happened to have an extra Faber-Castell converter and that fits perfectly -- not loose at all. The slightly downturned nib takes a bit of getting used to, but I don't find that it makes much difference in the end. Mine was scratchy out of the box and I fixed that easily with just a few passes over micromesh. The grip is narrow but comfortable, with very subtle ribbing that improves your grip. I'm enjoying it much more than this reviewer enjoyed hers. I love the vintage vibe, the ivory color, the deeply posting cap, and the clear section and feed. I would agree that the pen is priced a bit high for what it is, but I'm still glad I got it. It would be a great pen to carry to the coffee shop or work when you don't want to carry an expensive pen and want something fun to write with. Hope this helps!

@@IratherservetheLord I would also add that the cap and barrel are completely flush on the one I got, so it sounds like there's some variance in the manufacturing.

I have a Midori converter in mine. 🙂 I love this pen. Inked with Sailor Studio #223.

I'm really torn on if I buy one. I kind of want it but the reviews really don't look too good. I asked Midori. Their nib is actually *European* size, it's made in Slovenia!

I haven't really looked around for other reviews of this pen, but it's not a bad pen. Definitely cheap, but if you get a lot of use out of it and like the way it writes it'd be worth the money, I think. Interesting! That's cool to know about the nib.

I love MD papers notebooks and pencils but they dropped the ball with this one.

TWSBI fountain pens are made in Taiwan, China, and their nibs are made by Jowo.

I was wondering about this fountain pen! Thank you for doing a review on it. I know you said the pen feels like it is on the cheaper side despite being on the higher price side but would you say it feels more like a kakuno cheap or a twsbi eco cheap (some people say the plastic body feels cheap lol)

I’d say it feels cheaper than either the Kakuno or the Eco. The body is REALLY lightweight and the international converter (which I forgot to mention in the video, sorry!) feels a tiny bit loose because if the pen is jostled too much you can hear the converter hitting the inside of the body. Maybe my supposed price point of $15 was too generous, it really, really feels cheap. At the same time it writes well enough, so it’s personal preference. I don’t mind that it feels cheap because it’s still comfy to write with.

@@inkfade4281 Thank you for your honest review! I was hoping it would at least feel as cheap as the Kakuno because I love my Kakuno. But hearing that it feels even cheaper and the converter doesn't stay in place makes me hesistent to try out the pen. It looks so nice too which makes me sad. Maybe if it was priced lower I would try it out because $38 does seem steep for the quality lol

No it feels cheaper than both pens mentioned. I know because I own all three of them. I kinda regret buying this one, pricey too.

Just noticed you have EXACTLY the same number of subscribers as PandaPenClub. Coincidence? I think not.

Lamy Safari y Pilot son mejores opciones que Midori.
