Hi Crystal! At this point I wouldn't even decorate for Valentine's Day. It's not worth your time to decorate for Valentine's Day and have to store it again in 2 weeks. I would tackle the organizing, donate items you don't love, and label your bins. Just focus on Easter decor. I try to be careful with my purchases. If I don't love it, I won't buy it. Also, I wouldn't purchase items from Dollar Tree, 99 Cents, etc... They look relatively cheap and you'll get tired of them fast. I hope this helps. I know it can get overwhelming. Hang in there! There used to be a show that helped people with organizing their things and I remember one thing they did that I think would be helpful for you in this process. You would first get empty bins the number you would need for each holiday, a trash and a donate. Then you set those up and label them Easter, Valentine's, Gifts, Donate, Trash, Christmas, Cabbage Patch kids. Misc- your stuff for your closet, and bathroom etc. And then as you pull your bags out you can put each item in the bin as you go along and that way you're not having to back track and go back through things again. Once your trash bin is full, take it out to the trash. Once your Donate bin is full, put it in the back of your car immediately and the next time you're out you can take it to Good Will or wherever. Then keep your Valentine's at hand because you'll be decorating with it. Label your Easter Bin and put it away for later. Your gifts you can take that bin and make up your families baskets, Christmas goes to storage and Misc. take it immediately to it's designated area. Cabbage Patch Dolls get to cleaning when you have time.
We have a two car detached garage as well as a one car garage. I put my tubs in the corner but are limiting how many. You never know how much you have until you start putting it all up. A home definitely helps.
Love your show and you, love that you don't mind showing us your 'mess'! When my husband and I moved into our house 30 or so years ago from an apartment, I didn't let him know that 3-4 big boxes he moved had old craft and diy magazines in them! We now had a basement and I could have my own craft space that I didn't have to put away all the time, but when I realized how many magazines I had moved I decided to take the plunge and dejunk!!! It's such a freeing feeling and now I do it regularly. My advice is pitch or donate the things you don't really love and keep the things that really mean something to you or have memories attached. I love having those kinds of things surrounding me.😍
It does not have to be your life you have a choice you can overcome your shopping addiction you can do it im speaking from experience in my past you can find a different hobby etc. to help you overcome i know its not easy but its possible
Crystal doesn’t have a shopping addition. She’s collected these things over the years. She’s stated many times that she lives in a small condo and that she’ll be getting a house in a few years and she’ll be able to spread her things out throughout her home. She’s doing the best she can with the space that she has to work with. Life is way too short to not be able to live how one chooses. None one should insinuate that she has a shopping addiction just because she enjoys decorating her home with seasonal decor. Life isn’t easy and we’re ALL a survivor of something and/or struggling with something. I love to shop and I feel there’s nothing wrong with it. Your comments end up ruining it for the rest of us who enjoy her content without judgement. It’s also not east being vulnerable by opening your home to strangers and letting them see how you live. Positive vibes only!

I've been there, so I'm speaking from experience. Thankfully, I've gotten over my shopping addiction. I still shop, but I buy very little. Now I just need to focus on getting rid of excessive items.
She goes to these stores to create video shopping experiences. she lives in Southern California, where we have to keep up with trends. Also, the things she buys and shows us are trending hot rare items people like me want to get a hold of. I'm thankful she is showing us which store has them.

I have piles,bins,laundry baskets,bags of stuff starting to loose it. I wish you so much luck getting it all together. Our basement is basically unusable because it's ALL storage down there and the laundry room. We don't let anyone go down there. Omg we always warn heating/cooling people or repair people ahead of time that it looks like a hoarder mess down there before we let them work!! 😂😂 I have no shame in my storage game. You shouldn't either. 💓💓💓 You've got a system that works which is way more than most people can say!!
What keeps me reeled in is I watch hoarders on UA-cam. I usually will get up and start spring cleaning or purging. When you good at shopping and finding deals, it’s so easy to get things. I love to shop but I also want to enjoy my things as well. Also, if you have allergies too much stuff means more dust and it ensures that you have to constantly clean. Also, if something is wrong with your home, you can’t see anything behind the stuff because it’s packed. I have found key for me is finding a system that helps me stay balanced. Hoarders does it for me. Hubby doesn’t care as long as it’s clean and functional. Ok, I accepted his challenge.

I had most valentines and Easter decorations up by January 5th. Shopping for the different holidays is awesome but storage can be a beast. I had my entire house decorated and it does take forever to pack up and then switch. I can imagine doing every holiday. What I tried is decorating a theme for each room. Currently my livingroom is Valentines, my den and kitchen are Easter, hall will be the Fourth of July. I change decor every six months with the execution of Halloween because my kids want Halloween. Love your store finds! We women have a lot going on so sharing tips can be very helpful. If you can use it then awesome! I have gotten many tips from you as well.

Hi Crystal great video!! But it's something that needs to get done!! My Hubs and I were going thru a couple of bins in the garage and purged and kept some stuff. I have a huge closet full of Seasonal decor and about 6 boxes in the garage. I dont store my gingerbread houses out there because the heat destroys the white on the them. Glad you did this video!! 😊❤ You are so brave doing this because everyone has a opinion and assume and you know what assume means!! Lol You do what makes you Happy!! And of course hubs too!! ❤
Hi Crystal I think you did great. a great job doing what you set out to do, finding out what you had under the table. That is the first step. It is heartbreaking to have something break, so sorry. The things that we buy and own are so much more than things or possessions. I remember how much I loved it at my Grandmother's home, Nannie Clement. It was warm, comfortable and she was real. We have a Maine Coon cat and we always have hairballs here Not necessarily the ones he coughs up😂 An idea is using a sharpie marker and writing on the bags who something is for like the stuff for sway put it all in one bag that way it's all in one spot for your niece the same for her and your nephew and so on. That's what I have to do otherwise I forget who's what or who gets what lol 🤣
Just a thought 💭 it may be a good idea to hire an assistant to help keep inventory of your new decor buys. I definitely need one too but cannot financially

My best unsolicited advice is take pictures of all your beautiful stuff and make sure you have enough renters insurance. You do have these videos as a reference. Can you imaging explaining to State Farm that you had 19 gingerbread homes, etc? I can’t either so when my home owners insurance said they could decrease my personal property premium to lower cost, I declined. I am in process of taking pics myself and adding to an album in my phone. Nice video.
Yup, sell some items, so you have room for some more items. Yo always find great items, that would sell easily, on mercari. I never find the items you show at my stores.

What about doing an inventory list as you take the decorations out. Then you can go over as you are decorating the next year for a particular holiday.

I had most valentines and Easter decorations up by January 5th. Shopping for the different holidays is awesome but storage can be a beast. I had my entire house decorated and it does take forever to pack up and then switch. I can imagine doing every holiday. What I tried is decorating a theme for each room. Currently my livingroom is Valentines, my den and kitchen are Easter, hall will be the Fourth of July. I change decor every six months with the execution of Halloween because my kids want Halloween. Love your store finds! We women have a lot going on so sharing tips can be very helpful. If you can use it then awesome! I have gotten many tips from you as well.

Hi Crystal great video!! But it's something that needs to get done!! My Hubs and I were going thru a couple of bins in the garage and purged and kept some stuff. I have a huge closet full of Seasonal decor and about 6 boxes in the garage. I dont store my gingerbread houses out there because the heat destroys the white on the them. Glad you did this video!! 😊❤ You are so brave doing this because everyone has a opinion and assume and you know what assume means!! Lol You do what makes you Happy!! And of course hubs too!! ❤

Hi Crystal I think you did great. a great job doing what you set out to do, finding out what you had under the table. That is the first step. It is heartbreaking to have something break, so sorry. The things that we buy and own are so much more than things or possessions. I remember how much I loved it at my Grandmother's home, Nannie Clement. It was warm, comfortable and she was real. An idea is using a sharpie marker and writing on the bags who something is for like the stuff for sway put it all in one bag that way it's all in one spot for your niece the same for her and your nephew and so on. That's what I have to do otherwise I forget who's what or who gets what lol 🤣

My best unsolicited advice is take pictures of all your beautiful stuff and make sure you have enough renters insurance. You do have these videos as a reference. Can you imaging explaining to State Farm that you had 19 gingerbread homes, etc? I can’t either so when my home owners insurance said they could decrease my personal property premium to lower cost, I declined. I am in process of taking pics myself and adding to an album in my phone. Nice video.

Oh sweetie, you need a house so badly, however, next to impossible in California anymore. We have a house & had to take in more family members to help pay for it. Between groceries & utilities, forget it. And they wonder why people are leaving this state.😢
