    Just been to a concert with Mari Boine yesterday ❤ she is a institution for her sami culture in Norway - she is from Sapmi - the indigenous people in the North ( Norway, Sweden,Finnland and Russia) what she has done with her music to bring forward the Sami culture impressiv. And in the concert yesterday ( Grieghallen , Bergen) the people showed her so much respect it was heartwarming- and Boine - who has never sold her out to anything- and her performances ❤️👍- she takes you to a journey lile a wolf through the forest, like a eagle over the mountains and like the reindeer over « vidda» . So happy to been able to experience her. And Auroras tribute shows how much respect Mari Boine is granted her in Norway. Tank you ❤( just look MB up.. she is fantastic ❤) Best from Bergen,Norway

    Mari Boine is Sami, a member of the indigenous people of what is now Northern Norway, Sweden, Finland and part of Russia, formerly known as Lapland and the people were called Lapps. So it is perfectly appropriate that you feel a kinship. Thanks for another heartfelt reaction. ❤❤

    Oh to have been in that audience. Aurora is generally at her best when there are no words, just sung sound. That is what hits you.

    Thank you for another genuine reaction. It is not Norwegian. It is the Sami language. Samis are Indigenous people originating from the northern part of Scandinavia: Norway/Sweden/Finland,, and also Russia. Joik is an ancient song culture from the Sami traditions. It is very primal and animal spirit-inspired. Usually sung in nature. Aurora is not Sami, but she dearly loves all Indigenous traditions and speaks their case whenever possible.
    Mari Boine is the most famous representative of the Sami joik tradition. She has mixed it into modern world music and is especially known for her work with Peter Gabriel.

    I often wonder whether Aurora will ever release any traditional Scandi music of her own. I would be intrigued if she did

      I'm not sure I would survive that. 😅 I'm hearing rumors of a metal album and am already losing my mind. There's literally NOTHING I wouldn't listen to from her.

    Like many have said, Mari is Sami, and this is a Joik, a signature style of singing. I reccomend you watch this clip with Mari: ua-cam.com/video/kprl0CECykA/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

    I ❤ Boine!
    It's not in norwegian BTW , it's in sami. Golle mázi= golden/beautiful Máze/Masi i think...(place in Sapmi) (Right my sami friends? Please correct me, don't scold me!)
    Several "nationalities" in Norway; Sami and Norwegian(the vikings) are two of them. And others, with their own languages and cultures. Always has been. One came from the south after the ice, the sami came from north east.

    • @TheRealMommaOG
      @TheRealMommaOG  18 годин тому +2

      I knew Mari is Sami - but I thought it was a particular culture within Norway. I even read of it being a part of other countries and still attributed it to Norway. Sometimes my brain likes to connect things. 😅 But this makes perfect sense - if I look at every country on the planet. Multiple peoples from multiple cultures. Thank you!

      @@TheRealMommaOGNo, thank you MommaOG! ❤
      I like your videos so much!
      I knew you knew she was Sami! I just thought when you googled the title, you googled for Norwegian! Same with your previous one with Eivør video; your google thought it was Danish, and didn't recognize Faroese! So Both times I was like: "Nooo, change it to Sami/Faroese and your there!"
      Looking forward to your next vid ❤

    Aren't the people from the north of Euroasia related in some way to native americans?

    • @TheRealMommaOG
      @TheRealMommaOG  18 годин тому +1

      I don't know Johny but I feel like we are. Other cultures too. Like there is a long lost memory in every single person's' dna on the planet. As if the word "culture" itself is the common denominator. Makes my brain hurt to ponder it.

    Why do reactors say sorry for pauesing so early, when if they are doing it, they can not be sorry. or they would do it. I am a fan of your channel, but you have to understand. If you interrupt the flow ,you are breaking the flow for your subscribers. Comment, yes, but show restraint for your subscribers. Knee jerk interventions don't go down well. Sounds like I am being nasty. No I am just trying to help your channel.

    • @johnytwo
      @johnytwo День тому +3

      Though hearing the song uninterrupted is most of the times the best both for the reactor and the viewer, I come here for her reaction, not for that song itself. Her interrupting early is probably because of her fidgetiness. Maybe she can help it, probably not. She might want to work on it, or not bother. Her apologizing is a sign of selfawereness and consideration for her viewers. If you wanna explain anything else, just ask. :)

      I’m sorry but I come for the eloquent reactions of MoG. Pausing is a part of how she reacts and I welcome it. I’m happy you are a fan of the channel like I am and I respect your comment but not necessarily agree with you on this one.

    • @TheRealMommaOG
      @TheRealMommaOG  18 годин тому +2

      Thank you - not nasty at all. I say sorry for pausing early for people like you who prefer to hear the song a certain way - after being fairly familiar with it. I completely comprehend that sensation, trust me. I feel the same with watching reactions to songs I know well. But this is my first time hearing it and like johny and peter said - it's all instinctual. My brain overcomes me quite a bit and hearing a song for the first time can be very overwhelming. If people are coming to hear what I think of something, I'm compelled to express that. But I completely understand your perspective and respect it wholly. Thanks for taking the time to say it.
