Don’t forget to fill the bath toys holes with glue! They grow mold quick and can make the baby sick. Also if you want one of those baby bottle drying rack that look like grass, they are always always at the thrift stores. :)

Your assumption with those little bags for diapers is correct...and they really come in handy! Also, it's a great idea to have a separate changing and napping area downstairs. We live in a 2-story house and having the downstairs changing station and napping spot was so handy (especially during the early days).

Nice! About all you seem to be missing is something for nipple soreness. Ask around if you don’t know what to get or do a little research and just have something there. That may have come up in another video and I missed it, but believe me, it’s real and important and you want it on hand. However, it’s usually just for the first little while. Once you and the kid get the hang of latching on you’re generally fine until the teeth start coming in…
So I have three kids and I can’t help it, I gotta throw out a few things I picked up, ignore these if you want.
First off, I can tell you that if something looks like it’s gonna make things more convenient and you have the money/space/people willing to get it for you, get it. Don’t let people pull that “oh you won’t need that” nonsense. They don’t know that. There’s a learning curve. Why not have a few conveniences? Fortune favors the prepared.
And a lot of those look great. The obnoxious play mat, for example, is actually pretty useful. At about 3 months he’s gonna realize his hands are under his control, and the rings used to hold the toys on that set are a great size for a small baby to grip. And the hanging toys are good for take along toys.
Bedsheets can be an issue. If they come loose they’re a hazard to your kid. If yours seem like they could come loose or DO come loose, there are clips you can buy to anchor them, or if you know someone who sews, they can attach something underneath to keep the sheets secure. And of course keep the crib away from cables and windows with hanging string pulls. And ALWAYS anchor heavy furniture especially dressers!
Anything involving water will involve maintenance. The bottle cleaning set will need cleaning itself, holder and all. The squirter bath toys are notorious for never getting fully dry. Check them regularly for dark patches inside, like hold them up to a light and make sure no mold is growing. They are fun but they have a turnover rate.
Pacifiers also need to be checked regularly for damage. Any plush toy can be dangerous to small babies, especially if they have bits that can come off (Hedwig’s eyes, for example). They shouldn’t be in the crib. I didn’t even put blankets in when they were tiny, just made sure they were wearing onesies for warmth. The coily snake thing looks a bit risky for smaller babies but the key with most toys is parental supervision so I think you can deal with that.
The creamy diaper rash ointments are easier to clean off than the gels, but also come off easier with movement. Newborns’ skin can be pretty sensitive to any chemicals so tbh I cut a bunch of shop towels into smaller squares and just dunked them in water for diaper changes. A breastfed baby has easy to clean poop, doesn’t even smell bad. I always thought it smelled like pretzels which is disconcerting…
Anyway, looks like you have a solid set of supplies. Sorry for the infodump, assuming you read it. I used to figure everyone knew these things and then you hear about someone who didn’t anchor a dresser. And it’s horrible to hear it.

Oh that infant bathtub is so much better than the tub we have. We have one with a newborn sling and two different seats built in based on infant or toddler. Goblin rolled in the newborn sling. I also suck at judging temperature so I bought a rubber duck that says when the water is too hot. He's a toddler so now he just babbles and throws his toys out of the tub.
I liked the Mam bottles and Phillips Avent in terms of cleaning. The Dr Brown was nice and my son loved those but I hated cleaning the pieces.
Mommy's bliss saved our lives when he was upset and constipated. Though it works VERY WELL. Ruined one of my Halloween blankets. 🤣
I'll have to look at the baby nail file. Cutting his nails is a two man job. Worse than trimming the cats' claws. 😬
I could never find our butt spatulas when I needed them. I just grab vinyl gloves for my husband so he doesn't panic over diaper changes.
We use a white noise machine. First time we used it our baby was sleeping in his cradle in our room. Knocked all three of us out instantly. Find a sound you like, during one late night feeding I thought it was talking to me.
If you choose to circumcise, WaterWipes were recommended by a friend. If not, they're really gentle anyway.
If you can get some cheap sleep sacks, go for it! Basically it's a sleeping bag they wear instead of fighting with a swaddling blanket. Keeps them warmer in winter when they're too young for blankets.

Also get binky wipes safe for baby’s to use binky right after wiping and make sure your nipple cream is all natural or ok for babies to consume and get nipple shields for the love of god I needed them so bad my daughter did not latch well and she gave me blisters, sorry I know a lot of info but I just learned it all want to share to help. Hi Jade! I want to pass on the nail clipping knowledge off my ancestors. Mom told us this, it was what her mom did and hers and so on, but it’s also a little ‘gross’ so I’m sure it’ll get some comments 😅 their little nails are so thin the best way to cut them and make sure they do get cut or the nails cut too short is to just chew them off. They keep calm and don’t wiggle, it’s super easy, and it’s a no fail won’t hurt baby system! Anyway, LONG STORY LONGER, that’s my family wisdom I always pass on. So excited for you and Dallas, baby gremlin is so lucky to have y’all!

Hey Ghoul, Hey! Fellow mom here! Just wanted to throw out that if any of the baby bath toys can suck up and squirt water, be very careful with those. You can never get all the water out and mold grows VERY QUICKLY inside them. Learned that the hard way. My babies did not get sick or anything but they were squirting moldy water out in the tub

  • @mardi7346

Hey Ghoul Hey. Also get small co trainers for baby food. If you are going to make it yourself. And a couple of thermometers. I lost mine the whole time so I got o e for the baby bag, baby room, grandparents, car and back up one in your handbag. And face cloths are also cool for easily cleaning spills and accidents. Always have an extra top. Because babies vomit when you least expect it. The first time you hear your baby's voice is the most amazing sound ever. You will never forget that sound. Another thing which I treasured was breastfeeding. It's such an intense bonding situation! Most of all - sleep when he sleeps. And like another spooky fam member said - take your time and time off. We are here. Having a newborn is chaotic so don't feel you need to keep us happy and deal with your Gremlin. Good luck Jade and Dallas! Enjoy him so much!

So my kids are 7 and 9 now. The Kick and Play was a huge hit for both at about 3 months. I called it "Hit it kick it, kick it hit it" (Wish you could hear me lol) but I would put them on it and say that and they would go crazy kicking the "piano" and swinging at the hanging toys. Also (and here I may catch some slack but it was honestly useful amazing advice once I got over the heebie jeebies). I would CONSTANTLY accidently make my kids nails bleed trying to cut them and filing took forever. I asked my friends on facebook how to deal with this and my older nurse friend who worked maternity for years said "it sounds disgusting but just them bite them off". If anyone else had suggested it I would have wrote them off as bat poop insane but honestly it worked the best and fastest. Also they will come out of the womb with sharp nails and scratch their face eventually. Also a weird tid bit I didn't know before it was too late but the onesies have those weird fold over straps so that if baby has a blow out (IT WILL HAPPEN) you can fold those over and get the arms out and pull the onsies off their bottom instead of unbottoning the bottom and coming up over their head. No matter what as a mom you figure it out. The first time I straight up pulled boogers out of my babies nose I thought "I'm here... I'm a parent"

So much about babies is trial and error! Dr Brown bottles worked best for baby 1 but baby 2 loved Mam bottles. One hated pacifiers, the other loved them 🙃. You don’t know until you try something. Don’t ever feel bad for switching gears or your feeding choices. Breastfeeding did not work for me no matter what I tried and I put myself through hell over it! Wish I hadn’t done that to myself! So excited for you and Dallas, you’re going to be a great mom!

First time momma here too 😊 In my opinion, sterilizing is a waste of your already precious/slim time. Just wash everything really well with soap and water and you’ll be 👌🏼

I follow another youtuber who has that baby wrap body carrier. Shhe ALWAYS as her son i it. Seems she can't leave him down for anytime at all. She cooks in it-shops with it and cleans the house with it. Works for her, but WOW every video she has her son attached. Love the haul-dpn't apologize for being so excited as a First Time Mom. It is so nice to see and we get caught up as well! OMGosh, that cacti bottle cleaning set is so bloody cute-gonna get one for my hummingbird feeders.

Oh man I hope your baby doesn’t love the dr browns bottles 😂. My son needed them in the nicu and I hated them!! So many parts plus they would always leak. I wanted him to like the mam bottles still more parts than I wanted but bigger less tedious. Didn’t like them😢. Then we tried the boon nursh and 👌🏼 he liked them. Again more parts than I would like but they are silicone so better for the bottle warmer no plastic ever touches the milk. Any moms that are trying bottles get them from Amazon they have better return policies on bottles than stores like target and Walmart. Then you won’t be out $30-$50 depending on the set you buy.🖤🖤

Hey jade! I wanted to leave this comment because I had my baby last year may 19 2022 and I breast fed and pumped! This info saved my life.
Make sure the flanges you have for your pump match your nipple size. Most of the flanges that come with the pump are way too large and it can cause pain and also breast pump spray for those first couple weeks when they’re a little raw for the pump makes it so comfortable. You can measure the diameter of your actual nipple and then match the flange size, you may already know this but honestly when my lac consultant told me I was like Ohhhhh!
Good luck! You’ll be such a cool mom

Here’s a tip on the haaka you have.
    I had that one.
They have new ones with suction cups on the bottom and little stoppers for the top.
If you use the one in the video get a very heavy mug and set it down on that every time you put it down.
It tips over VERY EASY and I can’t tell you how many times I spilled it!!!!

Hey ghoul hey! Looks like your all ready! Just a word of advice (and you totally don't have to), BUT don't take too much to the hospital. When you have to bring everything up to the room in a hurry, it's hectic, and the hospital will really give you anything and everything you need. But the biggest headache is when you really want to go home and you are getting ready to leave, it's a total pain in the butt when you have so much stuff to pack.

You do whatever you need to do to keep your sanity since things will be crazy for a while (I know that even if it just saved me a couple of minutes, that would make a huge difference when my son was little). I think that sanitizer thing was really cool! I'd like to know how that works for you later on, if it is something worth purchasing. I've heard about a few people that liked the little teepees, my son was one of the few that didn't do the wetting while diaper changing thing...but I know that is rare.

Black and white things are great for babies because they only see black and white in the beginning. As a nurse I can also tell you that you need a lanyard type of clip for the pacifiers otherwise you will be constantly picking them up off the floor! You are still going to want a cover for your wipe clean changing pad. Take it from me, I learned the hard way with my 4 month girl. Nothing catches the pee and it ends up rolling up their entire back 🙃 also, that thing is freezing for them to lay on so it fully wakes them up at night time diaper changes.

Definitely get used to the obnoxious color toys for babies and little kids! I do understand that it's good for stimulation for them and stuff, but they are often not the most attractive things to have around the house. The changing pad you can wipe clean sounds cool! We had the one with changeable covers that we washed, but a wipe clean one sounds nice.
